How has this dash cam been thinking getting it had think ware and done went out
its been solid. got a kit to hook it up to my fuse panel in my 2014 focus and it picks everything up. neighbor hit my car and denied it and the cam picked it up. quality is good enough for driving around and shit - if you keep it at the max settings, its enough to get plates if need be. great bang for your buck, shits still going strong.

I got to be installed with hardwire kit. Good information and easier to understand than reading manual.

Thank you for the video. Clear, concise, and to the point without a bunch of monologuing. Weird to release a new camera with 4k capabilities, and put a USB plug on it that's WAY out of date. Stuff made today should have USB-C, but micro USB is also acceptable. Mini-USB is oldskool.
Thanks, honestly I would take mini over micro any day, but yeah type c should be the ONLY standard now.
i think the reasoning is that theres so many other devices for the car that uses a MINI-USB plug so it makes sense to make it mini so the user can reuse cables or have a potential replacement on hand.
@@nevadaxelizabeth I guess I don't know what devices those are, because my last couple dash cams have all been micro USB. If I were to buy this, I'd have to rewire the hardwire I ran years ago that I rewired because I upgraded from a camera with mini USB. Mini is disappearing, but I'd imagine somewhere out there I could find a micro to mini adapter.
@@dirtfpvwell maybe is because my car is a mid 2000s JDM but all the accessories that came with it, the Phone charger, the original dashcam, the rear light, all were MINI. so i end with a bunch of mini cables.

This is the best video on this camera, but you should have put 4K Max in your Title as I have been looking for a video on this model but I did not stop at this one because it only says V1P 4K, not the Max but anyway I have found it now and you have covered a lot of things that nobody else covered. Great video and review first off. I’m considering this and a farming 66w that a few people recommended. Forgive the question but is there interference between WiFi let’s say since it’s required to their log in to use and one’s car WiFi and Apple car play service perhaps?
Excellent review; loved it. Camera is good too. Just wondering if there was a way to change the default FONT they use for the on-screen date/time/GPS Coordinates. Rexing uses a very generic font compared to very professional looking used by GARMIN.
Great job, Thank you. I find the SW buggy also, it doesn't always display the map in playback. I have the hardwire kit but have not installed it yet. You didn't mention if the V1P max has the ability to do a 20 sec video from battery, if the car is hit while parked. At least one other video suggested that this is the case. The overall manual is poor. Thanks Again

Any suggestions on how to improve the rear camera Night recording? Like you, I found it to be not very good at all.
How long does it record when the car turns off? Does the rear camera record when the car is off as well?
I just installed that cam today 11 14 21 I tested and is so cool I like the video quality super cool I love it
So with the good sd card I can record a whole 10 or 11 hour work shift without stopping? And if so how many work shifts can I store before it starts to slow it down?

How do you record a long video. Like a drive that took an hour. Do you have to put all the three minute clips together or is there a different setting? If so, will it fill the card and then start overwriting?

It will still record when car is off but plugged in no? My old one did. I watched footage next morning from throughout the night

Do you always need the cam to be plugged in? or does it hold charge for a couple of hours?
Dashcam stays plugged in. The capacitors are only good to keep the camera on long enough to finish the current recording and turn off.
This is a pretty good cam. I've been using one for years. And the GPS logger works pretty good too. Unfortunately, the GPS Logger software from Rexing does not work correctly on Windows and MAC machines. This has been reported for over four years, and Rexing has not fixed it. If you just want a decent dash cam that will play on MP4 players, this cam will work.
Is there a way to connect to the dash cam when your far away on vacation
If you had to pick 1for front and rear setup from the V1P MAX and the V5 which one would you select?
V5 if you do ridesharing or need coverage inside of vehicle. V1P is well suited for exterior coverages for the price.
Question ⁉️ how does this dashcam help if someone is robbing you or stealing your auto if camera is only looking forward or in the rear? The news media is spotlighting this camera for door dashers getting robbed. This Dasham doesn't appear to look inside the car at all for these reasons. Appears to be only for accidents?

Are there cameras that are sensors? Say your car is parked and someone walks up to it, a camera that would start recording it. Not just when it gets hit by a car while parked
Why do the instruction show installing it to the right of the rear view mirror? A little hard to operate from the drivers seat.....
So it won’t record if you’re hit while you’re parked and out of the car?
Also, if the camera needs to be on same wifi as your phone to use the app, how can you use the app on the phone if you are out driving? Usually not on wifi while you driving.
You have that backwards, it's the phone that has to be on the same network as the camera (the network that the camera broadcasts) in order for wifi to work.
Great review, but does it also show the rear view? I am being followed to work daily by the city police and want to record them following me.
Buy the model with the rear camera as well, there job done for you.

Quick question, when you start recording manually, does it start from a few seconds earlier then when you pressed the button? Or say a crash happened and you press the button after the crash, does the video start from a few seconds before you pressed the button so that you can see before the crash happened?
I still feel the old Yi dash cam still records very good quality video as compared to this.. you can find that on my channel

The rear facing camera is a separate camera that gets installed on the the back windshield.
how do we save the video
Unfortunately the rexing app is not that great and trying to open up or log on to with wifi through the camera is a constant ( can't connect to wifi)
It can only record 3 minutes at a time before interrupting the recording to save and start a new file? Screw that.
How is parking mode??
Thankfully I haven't NEEDED it yet, however there is a slight delay from the hit and the recording so there is a chance you might not catch a would be hit&run. I think I'm gonna test that and make a video...
I purchased a V1P Max, based on this excellent video.
I am pretty annoyed with Rexing however, as It is not made clear at all that the unit itself cannot be plugged in directly to a PC to download/ view files etc. Despite them including a USB cord for this purpose and the quick guide showing it can be !
Contacted Rexing who say no it cannot be so tough luck! The only options are to use the App ( which sucks) or remove the SD card which would require buying an additional USB / Micros SD card reader for my PC. very deceptive of Rexing.
I will be returning due to this & the terrible customer support shown by Rexing.
Linus Tech Tips did a major evaluation on dash cams earlier this year, covering cameras from many different manufacturers across all price tiers, down to disassembly and inspecting the actual circuitry. In summary, Linus concluded that the technology is an utter disappointment. Regardless of price, virtually all of the cameras from all the tested manufacturers all used the exact same image sensor. This means that image quality is essentially equal regardless if you spend $50 or $500. These cameras should have evolved by now to be on par with at least 5yr old GoPro cameras. But they haven't.

To many reflexions, personally I must be able to read the cars plate in front of me.
My mom had a rexing camera. It was horrible. Someone rear ended my moms car and ran away, but the dash am for some reason wasn’t recording. Overall, horrible
I wouldn't buy anything that's still using mini-usb. Makes me wonder what other outdated technology that they put inside that big ole clunky thing.
