Who needs sleep during the super full moon and magical Alaska! 😂 your so blessed to have experienced the full moon over the ocean. ❤ Love you and little one ☝️
We drove up twice. Went through B.C. and tge Yukon Territory into Alaska. But check on what's required to take your dog. Updated vaccines and such. And of course, you must have a passport. Driving is so worth it. You can take your time and see what you want to see. Highly recommend .
Drive it up/ but don't do it alone. The view/drive thru BC is one to remember. Been to Ketchikan (can :) twice it really interesting place with tons of history.
What a colorful little town! You'd think someone would gather the dead fish and bring them into the woods. And I have that full moon thing going on too, always have! 🌝🛳️
I think you made the right choice about Ketchikan -- you were on a boat for the whole trip, time to get out and stretch your legs. And what an amusing little town in which to do it, even with all the dead fish -- I wonder if they have a crew go out and scrape them off the rocks at the end of the spawning season.
Alaska us still Our home of 36 years, even though We’ve been on the road for 6 years. My advice is drive from Montana Border crossing the entire Alcan Hwy to Alaska and return down the Cassiar Highway into Washington. So much to see on Both roads. Lots of places to camp (free). It is expensive. Fuel, especially, but cook Your own food helps with traveling cost. Need a Passport and Dog needs up to date shots and Vet visit before crossing borders. Two Months is just the minimum, I suggest, if really want to see and experience Alaska and Canada. May- June are great months to be there. Many opportunities for excursions that time of year. Hit me up if You decide to go and, maybe, I can have tips and ideals that may help You. Safe travels and We’ll see You out there.
# 2 Creek Street - my friend from England and a resident of our resort on Mactan Island, Cebu. were doing a walking tour. One of the red light houses was being shown by a lady ( not sure if she owned it or was just the operator for tourist money ) We did not go in but for $1. each she would put her shawl around our shoulders and let us have a picture. Those ladies made more money than the prospectors. This was 15 plus years ago.
Glad you brought us along on your adventure, I'm not able to go very far - broke at the moment - but I love to watch you and a couple others on their travels. We lived next to a small creek where the salmon would spawn and there was quite a few that expired, made me afraid for bears and my dog was a real loud mouth lol
I agree...deal breaker for the ferry if Little One has to be in a crate. That is just crazy that they don't have a humane option for pet owners. Thank you for sharing. Ketchikan looks adorable and it is so interesting to imagine it back in the day.
Great video. That was weird about all those dead salmon. You're idea of going back with your jeep & lil One is awesome. I love your videos. Much luck, love & peace. ❤🍀✌️
I hope you do come up again! I live up on the hill (by Chugach State Park) overlooking the city of Anchorage & I have a guest room. I’ve only been to Ketchikan once, but I’ve been to Sitka several times. I was chomping at the bit hoping that you’d go into one of the awesome thrift shops there to look for pants instead of pricey tourist traps. My mom & stepdad have driven up here twice on the Alcan (AL CAN = Alaska Canada) Highway and they’re from Florida. If they can do it… surely a Georgia girl (with Little One!) can do it too! 😆🍑 BTW.. I hope you taped it when you first walked in & saw your precious pup!! If you did, I’ll bet that ALL OF US want to see that!! 🥰🐾💕
Beautiful places you've seen places most people just dream of seeing,I've been to Canada beautiful place, but yes check on your passport and dog vaccines and all that before driving up, Thank You for sharing with your friends and family Beautiful Ms Sarah
Did they offer the salmon bake there? When Pam and I were there we had this big salmon dinner that was part of the ships entertainment. Thing is with that cruise is you can only do it by sea .. no roads. Now that I will have my Tacoma and 4 Wheel camper I can now take that trip on. The Ferry as you said is expensive and you will miss a bunch of scenery ... I need to get to Fairbanks .. the one place we didn't get to. I did the Ferry from Port Hardy, Vancover Island to Prince Rupert, BC on my motorcycle years ago .. that was breathtaking! 🤠
The other day, a pod of Orcas swam through Puget Sound. The ferries shut down immediately to let them pass through. Once in a while, we get a solo whale that blunders into a ferry and gets killed.
I wonder if you could drive thru Canada and go up to Alaska that way? I’m sure there are regulations that way too, but maybe not so strict?? I don’t know…..I know at one time my Mom and Step-Dad were planning on taking a train to Canada at one time, whole thing is pricey though. If I know you, you’ll figure out something, or one of your Canadian fans might have an idea……stay safe!! ❤️❤️
Those dead salmon I've already laid their eggs Upstream. Once they do they try to go back to the ocean yet most of them die before they can. Or are eaten by bears, predators. I used to work with a fella who married an Inuit and lived in Alaska oh, and they lived here in Ohio for a few years but they missed Alaska so much they moved back to it.
they all die....the stream they go up to lay their eggs is almost always the same stream they were born in, no one knows how they are able to find the same stream again after spending 5 or so yrs in the ocean.
husband speaking - we ( I ) got caught in Ketchikan with their short stay, had breakfast, went off the boat, walked around, went back on for lunch and thought we would go out again. SURPRISE - why we were eating the boat sounded that they were leaving.
My d dad taught me years ago that ginger is the best seasickness cure, but better as a preventative treatment. I just eat ginger whole. It worked for my daughter. Mythbusters confirmed it.
# 4 I suppose you could drive up to Alaska but that is a LONG drive - not sure how the roads are. I guess it depends on how lil one did for the week you were gone. Did your Aunt do a good job with her care ? It is kind of like asking some one to baby sit your grade school child. Could she do a month. What is the cost to rent a 4x4 in what ever town or area you want to visit.?
The salmon die after spawning. They also die on their way to spawn. The bears do come down and feast on the salmon, mostly at night when people are not around.
Salmon usually almost kill themselves on their final journey to return to their origin and start the next generation and then they just die. Like you said dead fish everywhere. The ones that live to the end and start the next generation usually just die from the trauma of the trip.
Ummm the last I heard on the ferry was you leave your dog in the vehicle but every day for a certain number of hours you can go to your jeep and feed and water little one play with her, and I thought they had an area you could walk little one to "do business" but that may be old information.
Those salmon had spawned. They die right after that. It seems like such a waste. But people have told me. The meat does not taste good. Even if you got to it, within a couple of minutes, after it died.
Alaska is so expensive - to get there, travel and buy food etc. It's not designed for a "shoe string" budget. Instead of rushing up there again next year, think about returning in 2-3 years with an adequate bankroll after doing detailed planning. Glad you enjoyed your first trip to Alaska!

it would be a long journey but you could drive your jeep across canada to alaska, Now that would be an epic trip, Thanks for the video.

Love you and little one ☝️
# 3 can you imagine all the hard work to build the supports for the little houses and the walk way and with the water running.
We drove up twice. Went through B.C. and tge Yukon Territory into Alaska. But check on what's required to take your dog. Updated vaccines and such. And of course, you must have a passport. Driving is so worth it. You can take your time and see what you want to see. Highly recommend .
Thanks for sharing. I felt like I was there with you. Now I have that on top of my bucket list.
If you want a long trip, you could drive your jeep up the Alaskan Highway through Canada. That way you could see bears for sure! 😎
Drive it up/ but don't do it alone. The view/drive thru BC is one to remember. Been to Ketchikan (can :) twice it really interesting place with tons of history.
Beautiful little sea port. You will figure something out to get your jeep and little one back up there to spend some time exploring Alaska 😊
All these little harbour town looks so picturesque, like from a model railway. Thank you for another interesting video.
What an epic trip! A life time of memories you will never forget. Very awesome ❤

Just got back from my first trip to Alaska. Envious of the weather you had. Time on one stop was cut short and another stop was deleted completely.
I have a friend that drove from Seattle Wash. to Noam Alaska
Let’s go …… more Alaska! 🎉
I had the opportunity to do this very cruise about 4 years ago on the very same cruise ship. Hope you had a great time on your cruise as I had. 😊
Great move taking off on your own!
What a colorful little town! You'd think someone would gather the dead fish and bring them into the woods. And I have that full moon thing going on too, always have! 🌝🛳️

In the summer, the mosquitoes in Alaska are as big as Little One!

to bad you didn't have another pair of paints

Sleep cam wait when you've never seen Alaska before. Speaking from experience

Jeepsy! You came all the way to Southeast and didn't stop in Sitka to say hi? 😆
Bears much rather have live ones it's all about having fun
You can drive up and you have to get a certificate of health 30days prior for your dog to pass through Canada British Columbia

Get a little Caravan going out there I'll sign up my name

I really have no suggestions those impossible fixes 13:05
Drive to Alaska.

No way I would leave a pet in a crate for days! That's the definition of animal cruelty in my opinion
A lot of salmon die after they spawn😂
😀😃😄
👍👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🌹🌹
Drive
All salmon die after spawning. It is not injury it is their life cycle.
Salmon die shortly after they spawn
Go by land----problem solved----I wouldn't leave my dogs behind!!!!!!!!
Not to be a smarty pants Sister Sarah, but the L in Salmon is silent. Sally forth.
I think salmon swim upstream to lay eggs and die
Salmon die after spawning.
Ill pay for it if u take me
The dead salmon our old salmon chances are this is where they were born I'm so like all salmon they come back and die
