When standing down from the car you'll make a bridge between the car and the earth, thus getting heavily electrocuted in case of battery or wiring damage. That's why in LMP1 they jump down the car and not step down

Both Max's q3 lap times are enough for pole, so if his last time is eliminated which wont happen, he still will be on pole. Also his last time won't be eliminated because the race director never activated the single nor double yellow, it was only one marshal post that raised a single yellow which doesn't constitute a penalty as again the race director never activated it.

Pretty annoyed that Verstappen has a 3 place penalty. I thought they should've deleted his lap, but he still had his first lap as quick enough for pole. It will still be a great race, but I was really looking forward to turn 1 with Verstappen on pole.
They're not just going to delete a lap for doing probably the most dangerous thing you can do on a track which is ignore waving yellows
Every driver behind Bottas was denied a chance of improving except Max who didnt slow down....think about it....he deserves the penalty.

Hamilton was the next car behind Bottas, then Vettel, then Verstappen. It's irrelevant whether they were improving or not....they slowed down Verstappen didnt. If they just delete the lap Max keeps his P1 and gets away with ignoring a yellow flag? Not going to happen.
@@AUmarcus I see what you're saying, although Hamilton did actually improve his lap. He was only a couple of seconds behind Bottas so the yellow flags did nt come out but I'm sure he still could've back off. Just surprised there was no investigation for this. Or is that just me?
