I agree, all that stuff so close to the burner, wow. I fully expected for that Tupperware canister to be melted on the bottom especially when those mini marshmallows fell over but the gravy looks good
My Mom made this a lot, but didn't do the flour she just added a can of cream of mushroom soup to the hamburger. She also added an onion with butter and sautéed before she added the hamburger, she did use Worcestershire for more flavor!
I love Sara's cooking. She's sweet as can be, but concerns about safety. Her kitchen didn't look this cluttered when she started. Someone, close friend or family please help her. I'd like to see her cooking for a while longer.

Here is my recipe for hamburger gravy, try it sometime, it's amazing! 2 -lbs hamburger = 1 - onion chopped - 1 - lg clove of garlic minced - 1 pkg. onion soup mix - 1 pkg. sliced bella mushrooms = 1 can cream of mushroom soup - 1 jar or can of beef gravy - 1 Tbsp. worcestershire sauce - a pinch of s&p. Fry beef with onion, garlic & mushrooms & drain when done. Return to skillet & add onion soup mix, soup & gravy. Cover & gently simmer about 1 hr. It is amazing over rice, pasta, mashed potatoes, biscuits, and even toast. The best I have ever eaten, flavor over-load...=)
I usually just use 2 packs of gravy mix. I am going to try your recipe. I hope it tastes like the hamburger gravy over mashed potatoes when I was in school. Thanks for sharing Sara.
My mom made hamburger gravy on toast all the time when I was a kid in the 70s, dad called it "S.O.S." and we usually had sliced garden tomatoes with it. Good simple food. I always preferred it to chipped beef in cream gravy on toast.

I used to have a glass top stove. So glad I was able to be able to change back to gas stove when we moved. That was a must. Never dreamed of using part of it like a countertop. I guess she only uses one burner.
This recipe takes me back to my childhood when Mum made this at least once a week and served over potatoes. It was cheap and delicious. Thanks for sharing Sara ☺️
Yum that looks good. I always make it with sausage . I've never thought of putting hamburger meat . I'm going to have to try it. That would be delicious over rice or noodles. Thanks for the great recipe. Happy holidays
Try the gravy plain with hot corned beef or “dried” beef...over toast points, if it’s too expensive just get a pack of roast beef slices (some are .68)
I see your down to 1 burner Declutter everything has a place and if you’re not using it it goes in the trash and I’m 100% sure your marshmallows are not good anymore and you’re gonna melt that container
My mom used a very similar recipe she learned from a WW2 navy cookbook, and served it on toast. It was called SOS (Sh!t On A Shingle). My dad had been in the navy during the war and he loved it. She made a similar dish called Chipped Beef on Toast with Armor sliced dried beef from a little jar. She would rinse the salt off the dried beef before making the recipe. And then we would keep the little glass jars and use them for breakfast juice, etc.!
My house was the opposite chipped beef on toast was the sh+t on a shingle. I will say tho I don't remember anyone making hamburger gravy. I eat it anyway it looks good
This refreshes my memory on how to make hamburger gravy into hash. First, I would saute a bell pepper with the hamburger meat and a cubed russet potato together; then, I would add the four and water, stir and let it cook until the potatoes were tender. Salt and pepper to taste, then serve over white sandwich bread. So darn good! Thanks Sara.
My mom taught me how to make homemade sausage gravy for biscuits and gravy, and it's been one of my favorite things she left me before she passed.
