We used to have a local DJ who would play "Saturday Night" by the Rollers... And take "Saturday" and scramble up the letters and sing it, along with the "Real" Saturday! Y S A A T D R U NIGHT!!!
A great catchy sing along pop song which only the rollers can deliver, great lyrics and derick does a great patter type roll over snare and toms near the end. I’m 68’and I love this as much today as I did in 1976!when I was 23
Love the filming of the band on the Shang-a-Lang TV shows. Everyone gets a good look at the whole band playing together as well as their own favourite. We see Alan's secret smile, Derek's endless good humour, Les' energetic vocals and Eric and Stu's great guitar playing and youthful good looks. No wonder they call them 'the Classic 5'. I totally understand 'Rollermania' after watching all these videos. Thanks Janny and Regards, Jo.
Lets go should have been a single it would have been a number one from the lp once upon a star album fantastic love the album and rollin number one albums
Agreed. This should have been the lead off single for the album. I have no doubt whatsoever that it would have been a top 10 hit, had it been properly promoted.
That’s what I say. Power Pop doesn’t get much more perfect than this. Just a great little feel good anthem, that should have been every bit as much a hit single as Rock and Roll Love Letter or Saturday Night. This one’s been earworming me since the mid 70’s.
Yeah mate, I remember the Rollers appearance on Countdown! I was about 6 years old and my older sister had a poster of them on her wall. They were cool! 👍🏼🇦🇺👏🏼🏴
I lived for Shang-a-Lang every week, and I adored Woody. Watching this makes me feel 12 again. The best episode was with Cliff Richard as I'd been a massive fan of his from the age of 4. Happy memories.
