It was.
it was such a magical time its diffrent life in many ways today but comeing on here and seeing this takes me back to these great days get it togeather is an ulltimate classic great job to the uploader here to.
the Rollers were really in their dog days by now
It is a shame their manager and Clive Davis stole the bands money. They were a great fun band to listen to.Better than the garbage today.
@@oliviajohnjohnolivia8142 I agree totally. It was honest, fun loving music.
Eric just had the best hair 😍
Eric had the best of everything; both gorgeous AND talented!! 🎸🔥💖 (Woody wasn't bad either...🥰)
Team Eric ❤ the world’s most perfect man 😊
Woody had the best hair…
And the most gorgeous blue eyes, still make my heart flutter in 2024 💖
I remember this being broadcast for a particular reason, I wanted to watch something on BBC and my sister wanted to watch this, we had a big fight and she hit me round the head with the carpet sweeper, had a huge cut above my eye and got taken for stitches, and still have the scar today, I remember it being around Christmas time but now have the exact date, I can’t wait to see her now and show her
Well I am sorry, but you don't have a leg to stand on. Imagine, trying to stop your sister watching Roy North's amazingly talented singing and dancing! She let you off lightly!!!
Always knew that Roy North was a troublemaker! It would be interesting to know what it was that you wanted to watch on the BBC. I'm guessing neither you nor your sister remember.
Hit with a carpet sweeper. Only in the 1970s… 😂
No videos or catch up tv in those days 🤣🤣
@@stephenowen6862 It's a shame it wasn't recorded with commentary, "She's not looking happy at all. She's reaching for the carpet sweeper, he could be in trouble here..."
These guys were the best part of my life , if I had a bad day all I have to do was put on their record and be happy, eric I still love you !❤
Real Bay City Rollers performance.
Very rare.
初めて見ました!
すべて生演奏&生歌ですね。とても貴重な映像をありがとうございます!
Eric’s killing it!! 🔥🎸
Wow, live! They sound great💖🎼🎶🎶
Oh the bay city rollers were truly awesome
SeX PiStOLs brushed them aside, thank god. 🧷
Ohh this is nostalgic near christmas i was 9 and remember it well. The legends the greatest Bay City Rollers. Still ❤ them in 2023 and beyond. Happy memories at a special time back then.
This is rare as BCR is actually playing, not lip-syncing.
Great Upload Thank You very much !
Nice to hear them play live !
BCR Fan Forever !
Eric is still wearing platform shoes and serious flares in December 1977!! Call the fashion police!!
Nice to hear him play guitar live though. He was always an underrated musician.
Loved them so much ( i was about 10 years old when i discovered them). Still listen to them sometimes ❤
The summer of that year I saw them live 3 times live! I got to interview them…well Les mostly. Magical summer.
That's a good video of the music for bcr fans❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉😊😊
So much wasn't live as usual. Got to love session musos
Groovy 😁
Thanks for the upload. I'd seen parts of this before, but never the entire show. So awesome to watch my teen dream Woody looking so very hot! 🔥🔥🔥
You crave the wood. 😅.
Les had such a beautiful voice and unmistakable. Great live performances on GIT from loads of acts. Great to discover this channel.
I really love this album when it came out and now! It's been on my turntable within this past week!! I knew it was really a sort of break away for them....Yeah, a transitional era....I love them always tho! Xo
This show took place on my birthday December 27th!
Oh how I envy that girl in the red dress. What a memory to have ❤
I hate her and don't know her lol
OMG l liked them when l was about 16/17 years old. Bought their first album.
Great fun moments ❤.
Roy North reminds me of my Aunty Margaret
Roy North murdering Christmas Dream - a beautiful Perry Como ditty from The Odessa File
Mr Roy murdered every song he touched
Musically this album "Its a game" was their best, musicianship, and songwriting. Shame punk rock came along at the same time.
Wow! Valuable video. I feel very lucky to found it. ヤバい動画を有り難う御座います❣️
finding myself coming back to these shows more and more for the always excellent ms fletcher tho !
Miss him
He did the basil brush show..i loved that as a child but i dont remember this
This was great 😊
The Bay City Rollers playing LIVE. I didn't know they could. Always presumed session musicians actually played their music. Not a bad song either.
They did have mostly session musicians play their music, but it was because it saved money because they had to rent less time in the studio. The Rolling Stones and most other bands did this too.
They aren't playing live. Where's the synth and the backing vocals coming from? Not a bad song- a boring one.
@@paulsawtell3991 They had an in-house band (Mike Moran etc) to flesh the sound out at a bit, in-house backing singers too (not seen) but the BCRs are playing/singing live. Either that or Les is the best lip-syncer ever.
At the start session players, guys kicked off, most songs Eric's, they mouthed to their his songs and extras.
Sessions did at the start, but the rollers could play and wanted to do it themselves, and eric wanted to write his own music, this isn't one of them,he write money honey before the rollers,so not written for the rollers.
IAG is my absolute favourite Rollers era, they looked incredible and it was such a great album. Could this be the Rollers’ last UK TV appearance of the 1970’s? It’s sad how quiet the audience are, they were huge in Japan in 1977 and even in the US they were still screaming a bit.
レスの歌声は永遠です♾️❤❤
Roy North is an amazing talent!
Les looks like he's left a big packet of wine gums in his pocket around 18:00
That dance number in the middle lol😊 kudos to them though
By some strange coincidence I was singing the theme song to this programme today and then saw this .... spooky! Can't believe I used to watch this though, it's not Supersonic or Lift Off with Ayesha! hahaha
Most of the Lift Off shows are lost , so bad.
Rollers completely blowing it with their “new direction” which seems to be “serious disco” 🤣
They were washed up by this stage
Agreed. Plus, it didn’t do them any favors. They would have been much better off playing to their strengths and pushing things in a more power pop direction around this time, but terrible management and a fan base that was rapidly outgrowing them, plus choosing this horrible musical direction really sealed their fate. They actually did start going in a power pop direction a couple of years later with the “Elevator” album, but by then they were completely washed up and left for dead.
@@patrickr6505Unfair comment! They had so many issues with a corrupt and “creepy “ manager. When Les left the band and they hired Duncan Faure to replace him, they should have changed their name and started fresh. They definitely changed their sound
@@RosePetal17 I don't think a name change would have saved them...that rarely works.. Listen, they were the king of kiddy pop for 3 odd years..That's all it was gonna last in that genre.. They couldn't really go anywhere after that.
What were they supposed to become?.A serious band that plays rock or punk?..They had a good innings for the type of genre they were in...
@@RosePetal17 They kind of did, They dropped the "Bay City"
視れて感激です😭💝💝💝
どうもありがとうございますm(_ _)m🌹
Eric wrote La Belle Jeane, and he also played the Mandolin on the track.
Getting the Bay City Rollers for the show probably wasn’t an easy task.
At this stage of the Rollers story it was pretty much the other way round
Punk & sex pistols where the big thing in 1977, the rollers where finished.
RollerMania had bitten the dust by 1977 and Les gone so new lineup faltered
@@marcbolan1818 Actually Les was still with them at this time, but not for much longer. He left in early ‘78.
Roy North was 35 years old when he was doing this.
Not a grain of shame in that mans body
Beats sitting around elbow deep in the backend of a chicken 🐔🐓 chaser 🦊....just !
The Rollers playing live and no girls screaming.
BCRの生歌てはじめて聞いた、結構いいじゃん
Kuch as i loved the Rollers, I am not sure Les's trousers are suitable attire for a kids show.
Well back then, there crazy manager Tam wanted them to wear tight trousers n most of the time leave them unbuttoned. He wanted them sexy but sheltered
I am so jealous of her.
If I see The Jam turn up here, that’s it!
The Mirrors (as the Original Mirrors) were on the show one episode
Hi there.
Thanks for sharing.
May I ask how you have this amazing and rare GIT footage?
Be Jesus Roy north…Chris de burgh on drums
so sad that Alan wasn´t back yet.
Gooooöd!
End times for the Rollers, success-wise. I personally couldn’t stand the direction they were going in at this time. I mean I understood that they couldn’t keep doing the tartan thing forever, but disco was the wrong move for them. Not that it mattered. Either way they were being ripped off by Tam and their mostly teen and preteen fan base was growing up and outgrowing them. They trudged on for a few years after this, but career-wise it was over for them by this time.
why does everyone think the are playing live? ffs Those boys are not playing the guitars and Les is a good mimer. That's it.
Very end of the pier entertainment
Not really, just what UK tv was like in the 70's, garbage. The rose tinted spectacle wearers will have you think differently but garbage it was
後期のBCR…貴重。👍
The Rollers popularity had comoletely gone by the end of 77 in the UK. Firings of band members, mis-management, crap song choices, bad direction of new music. Shame really....this all was before the in-fighting in America. However....fair play for playing live
I used to fancy Derek (why I don't know as I prefer dark men). Now I don't understand what I ever saw in him! Leslie had a reasonable voice though.
I think after The BCRs finished he went to medical school and qualified as a doctor.
@@vordman He was a nurse rather than a doctor, my friend.
Derek became a cardiac nurse and according to his fellow nurses a damn good one too !. Apparently Derek is a very compassionate man just like big brother Alan . I wish he had been my mum's nurse when she had her heart attack.
Never have seen much of the Rollers
Back in the day unless they had a good guest we only used to watch this for Roy North’s terrible songs - but to be fair it was aimed at young kids and we were about 19 or 20 and probably couldn’t have done any better!
Where is John Bender when you need him?
Anyone who has EVER accused the BCR of not actually playing their instruments seriously have to see their live performances on shows such as this. Having said that, whomever is working the soundboard has no idea how to equalize the sound. They got the guitar overpowering everything else.
I was a little unkind about "Yes Sir, I Can Boogie" some weeks ago. Probably too much vino collapso. Oops.
And is that Graham Jarvis on drums in the house band, fleetingly seen?
YSICB rocks!!
It’s a game was done originally by string driven thing .
What was it with 70's boy bands either going shirtless or open top?
Pretty dreadful stuff. And I loved their pop hits back in the day. What a shame.
Where is Alan
Thank God punk happened!
It's why punk happened
Sadly punk was eventually replaced by Duran Duran, Wham, Spandau Ballet, Culture Club, Paul Young, Shakin’ Stevens and Stock, Aitken and Waterman.
Yeah , there ain't no SKA in it yet ,
Chicken fried rice
Should have given mic to Les!
Why does that comment at 2:04 sound like it should be censored 😅
Not sure how the Rollers got roped into doing this crappy show, but they were the saving grace of it.
Heh - by 1977, with punk arrived, we'd all abandoned the Rollers
Not all of us abandoned them. Punk was never my thing.
I have never and will never abandon the Rollers. True fan forever
Thank God Punk happened!!
Their appearance on this show is probably why they fired Tam.
You're probably right. Alan said in his book that they hated doing kid shows. They also did HR Pufnstuf in the USA and hated it.
@@flower-the-earth I'm surprised they didnt try a full on collab with the backing singers / orchestra and band with Linda while they were on the show with the equipment a jam session would have been quite interesting. I think Les etc probably found the quiz section etc of the show tedious
Tam should have been fired way before they did this show (and the one in the U.S.)!
Les in the opening, trying his best to make the host seem "cool", though even Les couldn't save that performance!
There's a female voice in those backing vocals...wth is that?
Bay city rollers doing soul/funk song, sorry, no way!
Gawd....... this show is HORRIBLE! Poor Rollers having to put up with that BS!!!
Granada- the K Mart of t.v. networks. Terrible.
What is going on here…?😂
Shite !
Why is this girl singing over powering Eric ,hes agreat singer.
It’s no wonder Johnny Walker didn’t like em.
Unfortunately music is to old bring depression.thanks toanyway
Can you imagine Simon Cowell after seeing them audtion for the x factor. Pretty dreadful
Roy north😀🙄😄🤦♂️
