As a Japanese
The funniest part is that Japanese ourselves are not aware of those qualities because it’s the standard for us
and thats the unique of you because its really impossible to our country to do that
Yeah, that’s true.
However, We always have to consider how others feel, rather than how ourselves feel.
That’s kind of politeness indeed, but I feel a little nervous when it is too strong.
You will become aware of them when you visit my country xD
@@saki-bestybefirstfan1615 I think that we need a common ground, a balance between both things. Politeness is certainly an important attribute, but we need to care for what people feel, and what we feel at the same lvl, for politeness to be actually a genuine and social trait, for everyone to feel comfortable.
A very good standard I must say.
I forgot my phone at a restaurant in Osaka. It was still on the table when I went back to fetch it 8 hours later.

But if a Japanese has OCD where should they live? 😅
@@trystparadox9186
Still in Japan.
And your own country
@@jugemujugemugokonosurikire4735 what does OCD mean again?
@@mijaroprime9509 Obsessive Cimpulsive Disorder. And by any means OCD isn't a pleasant disorder. It's very harmful and it affects a person's daily life. OCD isn't only about cleaning, organizing, and hand washing. But it may include touching a surface or thing for a certain amount of times, checking things repeatedly (stoves, door locks, etc.), and intursive thoughts. I think there are different types of OCD. (Maybe I'll come back here after doing some more research I forgot what the different tyoes of OCD were called. I think it was DSM-5??)
How OCD affects life (these are some of the things my OCD does that affects my daily life)
• Walking- walking becomes very hard for me because I notice every small little cracks and patterns that I am able to see and my OCD goes "Okay avoid this crack and that one. Also that one" then sometimes I would mess up and I'll have to do most of the things again.
• Hand washing - this on is a bit hard to explain. But what I do is splash the running water on my hands for nineteen times, if my OCD isn't satisfied I'll do it again. The important part is that the cycle doesn't end up with the numbers 6,7,8,11-18, or any number that also adds up to 6.
• Typing - In typing the number of the last word should not equal to six. Or when I type short messages the final letter count should not equal to 6, 7, or 8.
I actually have more obsessions to add to the list but I got tired of enumerating and thinking of how to word things. Btw my compulsions have turned into obsessions. Obssessions are something you do on a daily basis and it just sucks and time consuming.
Brain dump:
• Compulsions may turn into obsessions
• You can have ocd with the absence of the intrusive thoughts. From what I know, as long as you have obsessions, compulsions, or both, you may have ocd
• my OCD started when I was in kinder 2 so I'd say I was 4 or 5 at that time. I'm 16 years old today
• One symptom of OCD is having lucky or unlucky numbers. I call mine "unsafe and safe numbers" from what I wrote I guess we can all conclude that my unsafe numbers are 6-8,11-18 and any number that adds up to 6, 7, or 8. And my safe numbers are 1-5 and 9-19, 5 and 19 being my safest numbers.
• Obeying obsessions and compulsions actually make OCD worst but not complying to them makes you feel uneasy. There are exercises that can help with OCD. They say that the most effective one is ERP. In ERP the therapist exposes the person with OCD to things that makes them want to perform obsessions and compulsions but instead of letting them perform the obsessions and/or compulsions they make them wait a little longer or not let them perform anything at all (I read this off of somewhere I forgot where I read it tho :< )
I'll stop here for now because I ran out of Ideas and my phone is near to dead. If you have any questions or need of clarifications just tag me and I'll do my best to answer. :))

I am sorry that you feel frustrated about your situation. But please do not give up. There must be someone who notices what you are doing and what it means to the society, and that is a start. You are not alone - from Japan.
I like Japan so much, one of the top countries to me so far
I spent a couple of weeks in Japan back in 2006. I was impressed by the way the Japanese treat each other, with politeness and respect. I wondered if it was an adaptation to the crowded nature of Japan. I'm in Australia, and said then that if you put that many Australians together in an area the size of Japan, we'd be at each other's throats straight away. As Australia's population increases, and road rage, domestic violence (etc) increases, I think it might be happening already. We've a lot to learn from Japan.
I can attest to this. Japan is the most amzing country in the world. They put manners on a whole next level. I've never seen anything like it. LOVE JAPAN. If you haven't been, you don't know what you're missing.
I too truly love Japan. Yet I worry about tourism, and how so many people from other countries don’t seem to understand that for Japan to stay as friendly as it is, tourists need to show respect to the Japanese culture and people. We as outsiders have no right to go there and break their unspoken rules - it is happening too often these days (tourists talking loudly on the tube in Tokyo makes me particularly sad… because the Japanese just suffer it, they’re too polite to tell you to keep your voice down).. Japan is a treasure we must all be grateful for. 🙏🫶
Well that's the actual modernization.
What we think being modern is being aggressive and disrespecting others in order to satisfy ones ego. Actual freedom is where everyone feels safe not where one can do anything he wishes to.
💖💖
Freedom is not how you describe the Japanese culture where you need to know a person's age to even approach them without sounding rude
Freedom is not safety my friend. Go to live in China, maybe then you will understand. China is very safe, same level as Japan. Enjoy your "freedom" there.
Japan is safe, but for what price? With people suppressing their emotions, insane suicide rates, being polite because that's what culture requires, hiding rage or depression inside. Why everybody of you who are so excited about it will not just go and live there? I know why, because you will not stand a pressure. You will die from loneliness.
Crime rates have nothing to do with politeness neither. It all have to do with economics, social security and law/law enforcement. And if Japan economy will not bounce back, you will see, that your bubble gonna break in just a few years. Or maybe it's already happening.

Omg, I had Japanese exchange students living in my house. I was so stressed for their safety. They will leave their wallets out in the open. They were very polite and friendly and even sent us Japanese snacks when they went back to Japan.
From imperial ruthless Samurai warriors to the safest people on earth, wish everyone would have this same transaction as Japan! Respect!
Even on Samurai era, Japan has always been a country of tradition, respect and good manners. Admirable.
Samurais were great
Imperial law actually ended the samurai warrior class and made them into simple governors
During my time serving in the US Navy, I was on a ship forward deployed in Yokosuka. At the end of my three year assignment, the hardest part of returning to the USA was adjusting to the blatant rudeness in American society-especially in larger cities- compared to what I experienced in Japan.
The key to a healthy society is consideration of how ones actions effect those around them.
This country doesn't build in one day and so the other countries. What makes Japan different than the rest of the countries in the world is how the human realize that they didn't do it only for themselves but for the other as well around them and create the community that is comfortable and save.
Sure it has its has up and down, and so the others country too. Let's make the world better one step at a time.
That's because they put morals and discipline before education..
Dumbest comment I’ve ever seen lmao
@@uneldavis7941 it has the point tho
@@uneldavis7941 its true tho,I heard that in japan they teach manners and dicipline first before teaching alphabets and all the knowledge stuffs.
@@rainclover59 lol that's because Japanese has the most difficult alphabet in the world, not even natives know all the characters
it is unfortunate that the Japanese did not bring this "politeness" when they went to Korea, China and Asia Pacific in the 1940s... Their behaviours in those places were legendary.
What a shame speaking about my country after this video. Brasil is the opposite. Japan is another level!
This is so refreshing…I would be proud to be Japanese! In my country…not to bash but NO COMPARISON😔 Like India, according to the comments there are rules but none…none are enforced. Frustrating place to live. Thumbs up to the Japanese for their culture and traditions and knowing how to live 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😊
"How do you compare?"
Well there is no comparison
How does your country compare:
Me carrying money in my socks and having two phones in my bag so I can hand out the broken one
We think everyone should be like this our country... But tend to lose memory when we go outside... India
I have travelled to many countries including japan, in Japan I felt like it's one of the worst place for tourists I faced so much racism, and in the night it was so uncomfortable, everywhere there were perverts who kept following young girls, there is a really famous school, in that the gates of the school are open to students at a specific time, in the exam day's perverts come in between the gate and the school and there'll be no space between people in between that, all men shamelessly grab the girls' private parts and it was a horrible scene to even think about
@@Fbi-lp7xp yea idk why many people say they want to live in Japan like there were so saved..it's hard to live there especially for tourists
For foreigners
I'll never forget the 5S System training we had at work. It was a workplace organization system that the Japanese developed. I've not only applied it at work but at home as well. Very efficient, very simple and straightforward. 😊 I know it has nothing to do with being polite but it reminded me of it when I saw the clean streets.
Everyone should bow down for Japan 🙇
Still the most depressed country though, You will only have fun if you are a tourist and from other countries, and yes, I'm japanese.
@Taz I believe in this actually, It's more reasonable

Ireland: I remember a clip from the news where the news guy was talking about how bad drugs were on a street in Dublin. 2 lads walk past and one of them turms to the camera and shouts "I LOVE COCAINE" towards the camera. I think Ireland is towards the other end of the scale in that respect. 😂😂
if you think Dublin is bad with drugs you should see LA...
@@kaito9907 Idk... things are heating up in Ireland FAST. Theres rumours that bomb factories are going back into production with political tension in the North. A butt ton of Armalite rifles were siezed near the border too. Also Unionist paramilitary grouos have pulled out of the good friday agreement (if you don't know what i mean google "the troubles." Very bloody sectarian war in the 70s. Catholics in Northern Ireland had almost no rights and were overruled by tge pridestant minority until peaceful protests began and police opened fire on top of one killing 14 people including a 10 year old and blamed it on the Catholics)
@Adriana Ghencea no no its fine. :) thanks btw. The covid situation here is very good all things considering. People are being vaccinated, there are less than 50 deaths and I believe about 647 new cases yesterday. To put that into perspective we have a population of 4.9 million people. Overall things are on the up. Not as good as New Zealand but certainly not as bad as the UK or America. As long as you follow the guidelines and wash your hands there really isn't a big risk of your father getting covid. 🙂🙂
@Adriana Ghencea I will thanks! You too. 😀😀
@Adriana Ghencea 🤣 dad should be caring for kids not the other way around
My fellow non japanese residentials. If u love Japan jus lyk me and want ur country to be better n safe too then MAKE it. It starts with us
This happened to me in 2019 a 100% true story
Me and my colleague's went to KFC one time and the table beside us japanese were eating.
Everyone after eating trashing the table and waiter had to clean it up.
But here I am looking at them japanese cleaning the table properly and giving the plate to waiter where she places the used plates/ trays.
Then they thanked the waiter by bowing to her.
Don’t think Japan is perfect though, there’s still a lot of sexual harassment on the trains.
That's why they produced a Handphone that can make a sound every time they took a photo, they can't silenced their photo to take a picture so they can prohibit a sexual harassment. And, if it wasn't enough, they make a tools for girls and womens to alarm their tools every time they feel asexually attack on shinkansen.
Well, those kind of bastard still exist everywhere honestly, but at least they have a solution to decrease that

Koi bhi desh perfect nahi hota.. Use perfect banana padta hai.....
Japan might be a advanced country... But there is another side....there is a high rise in suicide due to depression and loneliness... People are turning into hermits... They don't even talk to neighbours... If someone stays alone in an apartment and he dies then neighbours will only come to when his/her body rots and starts stinking...
They are suffering from loneliness and depression to such extent that there is a special loneliness minister.. and people there opt to buy ai robots to fulfill their loneliness than contacting humans (source: news)...and this is because of the tough society they live in... They have to go through lot of hardships...

@@userfhrjrjcfj69 hi! I do agree on the things you said. Social behavior is quite different in both countries but i was not talking about that. Its just my opinion and i was talking about the cleanliness and rules being followed. And i guess you may think that a lot of people in india are under poverty and lack of education but my focus was on the privileged ones....can YOU see rules and regulations being followed by the ones who understand this? India's progress has broken down due to politics and games. I totally stand by my point in saying i wouldnt wanna move to india if i were a foreign citizen. I love our culture, food, and a lot of things but we do need some development in other fields. Culture itself wont get us anywhere.
That's how i love japan 😌❤
Japan's education and emphasis on consideration for others is top notch.
yeah, just ignore the fact that there are so many groping incidents on the train, they made another train just for women.
Maybe not the other things, but in Spain we do the "hall" to allow people exit before boarding and we stand on one side of escalatos always. If someone does not do it, it is because he is a foreigner or new in the country XD
I wish my school had Japanese in their curriculum, so I am learning Japanese right now! It’s really fun and I think you all should too! :)
Based on my OCD of cleanliness....i must move to Japan 😂
Yeah I really do envy the Japanese mindset. I'm Brit. The nearest town to me has a busy outdoor bus station with a non smoking policy, signs are up everywhere, not only do people flout the rules with cigs but there's a near constant stench of weed and chavs hanging large groups blasting music or circling on their bikes. I've had to wait for buses there a few times and I'm constantly on edge.
oh how I love Japan :D
