I learned smoke on the water, its a great beginner song and its very simple, its played on the D string going: 0 3 5, 0 3 6 5, 0 3 5, 3 0, guitar is a great skill and i hope your friend likes it, it can be frustrating, but tell your friend to not give up!
Nice. I appreciate the way you actually play the C-major (or B-major, since you're tuned down a half-step). Several covers I've seen simply skip the lowest string. I'll have to work on playing three strings with my fourth finger and muting the high E. Dang these little hands.
Very nice, reasonably simple tune. :) I have messed around with palm muting, but to get the sound I wanted, the amplifier had to be absolutely blasting.
so go do what you like make sure you do it right!!! you may find out that your self doubt means nothing was ever there you can’t go forcing something if it’s just not right!

you can also play 35 on the 2e and a then play 57 on the ad and then play 79 on the ad and then play 810 on the 2e and a then when you have the do the couscous you play 57 on 2e and a string then you go to 810 on the 2e and a sting and of course you need to be in 1/2 tuning
