William LePoint it's slang for a kind of eggnog, climbers use beverage names as grades. V7 is what an average fit person could climb with a good year of practice
For everyone curious how he got down. There’s 2 options for this boulder, you can either down climb the back side which is relatively easy I believe, or some have a rope tied onto the bolts at the top, and they get down with that. I don’t see a rope in this video so I assumed he downclimbed on the backside 👍
Far easier to climb when youre younger as you are more flexible, lighter and have probably exercised your body in a way that is good for climbing. As someone who started in my 20s i had already lost much of my flexibility and have lots of extra muscle that is not necessarily helpful for rock climbing
Yeah one of my buddies climbed V11 with 14. He never trained to become a pro, though, as climbing was only fun for him. The earlier you start, the better of course. I started way later and it took me 1,5 years of three times climbing a week to get to V6 (though I just climbed and did no additional exercise). V6 is quite hard. Most climbers never get to that level.
Alex just seems to be such a nice guy...so psyched for him - his progress has been insane and I'm sure we'll be hearing much more from him. Alex, du bist einfach super!
Josh Atkinson lol..... Theres a rope at the top that you rappel down with, or you can down climb the backside of the Peabody boulder, but thats a bit sketch. probably rappel in this boulders case.
Amazing accomplishment. Too bad the video failed to portray the difficulty of the climb. A bunch of medium and wide shots don't work for climbing videos unless you're watching on a 70" 4K tv.
Yeah, I've dc'ed that before...about 5.10a (V0-) but it is pretty scary and you can't see where to put your feet and you have to jump the last 10 feet or so too...but compared to V15, yeah it's easy i suppose....lol
I was just in Bishop and my guidebook did not have Lucid Dreaming listed. I was looking at Evilution which is seriously 10ft to the right of this problem and missed it. I wanted to check out this line so bad. Oh well until the next trip.
It took 20 minutes to climb, and 11 days to figure out how to get back down.
I am so glad I'm not the only one wondering about that lmao
Repelling lol
@Randy Zain Haha yes not suspicious at all lmfao. These bots are so shitty..
I can do lucid dreaming in my sleep
This is one of the greatest comments ever
This is excellent.
Beez peaked in life one year ago with this comment
Do you climb lucid dreaming when you're lucid dreaming?
This comment is superb
"The top is only V7 so not that hard." Well f@$&
Assuming you remain injury free and are relatively fit and strong when you start.*
There's no way to 'easy' climb v7 after one year.
WHAT THE HECK IS V7
William LePoint it's slang for a kind of eggnog, climbers use beverage names as grades. V7 is what an average fit person could climb with a good year of practice
ClusterOfBlueRabbits that's pretty interesting...
"Alex i cant find my phone I think it was in that chalkbag I gave you" "oh shit"
Some say he is still sat on top of the boulder
Channy132 Some say he is the boulder!!
3:57 chalk bucket in the distance after he threw it 0:48
Spot on
lol i was wondering if we were going to see it land or whether it would come back in frame for some reason.. nice spot
Dominic Lee o
poor chalk bucket, if it wasnt for him he wouldnt of topped out... could of showed it a little more respect

I've developed a callous on my left pinky from playing too much hello kitty online.
wtf
These "boulders" are as tall as some of our sport climbs...
How the hell did he get down
Maybe the other side had an easy walk down. If not, he had to rappell.
He lives there now.
Simon Folkvord there is a downclimb about 5.10a on the other side
This is a genuine highball. It’s damn near close to soloing.
"around v7, so not super hard." v6 is like godly hard lol.
chinster I'm 13 and I climb v8 so I mean...
You also probably weigh under 130 pounds. Much easier to carry that amount of weight around
17 climb v9 outdoors and have friends 17 climb v11 outdoors

"Only V7"
........ Fucking professionals making me feel incompetent again
I know nothing about climbing. These people are impressive.
yeah thats pretty impressive, BUT i watched every star wars movie...... In ONE sitting
absolute ledge
Damn those movies are so bad... Especially when you get to the new ones. Definitely V16.
Nothing Impressive, did this with The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings.
How did he get down?...
Josh Atkinson Helicopter.
Josh Atkinson lol..... Theres a rope at the top that you rappel down with, or you can down climb the backside of the Peabody boulder, but thats a bit sketch. probably rappel in this boulders case.
Was just wandering that haha

There's like a 5.9 downclimb on the other side.
Jump
Woke up from the lucid dream
There is a rope at the top that he can clip into
Well, I can climb my stairs. Pretty proud of it already X)
Longest project to date "11 days" meanwhile it takes me several trips to finish mine :|
Amazing accomplishment. Too bad the video failed to portray the difficulty of the climb. A bunch of medium and wide shots don't work for climbing videos unless you're watching on a 70" 4K tv.
How does one get off of this boulder after getting to the top?
How'd he get down haha
+LegendOfMen There's a relatively easy down-climb on the other side of the boulder.
that's no fun
Yeah, I've dc'ed that before...about 5.10a (V0-) but it is pretty scary and you can't see where to put your feet and you have to jump the last 10 feet or so too...but compared to V15, yeah it's easy i suppose....lol
How does he get down?
Woodroffski A helicopter picked him up after he finished
i really wanna know too.. how did he get down?? seriously
There is a V2 down climb on the other side and then you jump from about 10 feet up or so.
He didn't, he's still there.
Thanks for the serious answer. :)
I'm just wondering where that rock came from?!
Glacial currents
he is gonna be real trouble for the next generation
Wow, how staticly Alex did the moves comp to Woods👍🏻
Its pretty easy, v7 after those moves lol. Wtf
That Gumby mug lol

Camilo Marroquín interesting thought... I wonder!

I was just in Bishop and my guidebook did not have Lucid Dreaming listed. I was looking at Evilution which is seriously 10ft to the right of this problem and missed it. I wanted to check out this line so bad. Oh well until the next trip.
Do they really bring him down with a helicopter?
Zerge916 they climb down repelling with rope
fucking mastery.
Very inspirational, looking forward to climbing my first V10 at the gym.
Getting down harder than getting up? Like a 5.14d? :D
How does he get down?
Who's this Felix guy and why doesn't he get more credit?
Amazing, impressive ! It's like cheating on gravity !
And those forearms ... WOW !
“The longest project… took me 11 days”
Meanwhile, I’m over here still working on a v6 after a month
Next problem, how do you get down.

よっ!世界のアルク!!!
only 4 people have sent this climb
Thanks for a climbing video, but I want more!!!!!
How do get down?
How in the fuck would you get down
"no drop knees"
Slabs are scary no matter what, after flagging off some nasty crimps in the middle of nowhere 15meters up. Naahh, thing is sent just hop off lol
dont know why the FA guy downgraded it from v16 this is v16
Damn. Bouldering can be pretty damn dangerous too. He's rather high up. A slip and he's done for.
+Winston Liang that's why you have two guys catching you and some landing pads too :)
TheGrundigg dude youre falling off like 3 stories its gonna hurt LMAO
@@TheGrundigg no one is going to catch you from 30 feet up. Shutup.
You're done for. Climbers have survived falls from 70 ft up.
@@living4adrenaline Kiddo, are you really so butthurt, you're fighting a 6 year old comment?

How many attempts until that chalkbag landed in the right spot?
How did he go down
I love doing this I'm just starting but I wonder how they can grab on such small rocks it's impossible for me
Jena Meyers with a lot of strength and skill.
Practice on a "hangboard" and or buy some small rock holds to practice at home. Metolius greatest chips is a 40 pack of small holds for 40$
Loads of talent and suffering.
Does anybody know the song at 2:22 please ??
He is so strong
"Verfickte scheiße"

Looks more like V4 tbh
What shoes are these?
Daniel W. Tenaya Oasi ;)
