This is okey. The advantages are: - Low Fan Noise - Working Thunderbolt port - 3 SSD Slots - Well cooled GPU - Windows included - No need to build it yourself The issues I see are: - CPU temps and thermal throttling - Huge Power Supply - If something breaks, it is difficult to replace or fix Undecided as to whether should I get one or not. These videos help a lot
@@ali09gaming58 But, for instance, the Velka 3 model with the i5 13400 has to be CPU power limited, as the cooler's headroom can't handle the full CPU while in turbo mode. I think it happens with most SFF PCs. If there is one combo that doesn't thermal throttle, I am interested to know. Maybe the Atoman G7? But it's prebuilt too
@@thephoenixchant Atomman g7 seems like another mini pc/laptop specs in a mini pc. im talking about proper pc sized specs, but you may not get it in very small sizes like 4 litres or less. Maybe looking at like 8 to 10 littes or even 15. Like for 15litres ssupd meshroom c case with an rtx 4080/90 and liquid cooled 280mm ryzen 7800x3d. Or you can go with a laptop instead.
Your thermal paste application itself was fine, but if you look at the paste spread on the CPU plate, only half of the CPU plate appears to have had solid contact, so in addition to the two heat-pipe solution more applicable for a 35W ultrabook, it looks like there was also an issue with mounting pressure, although I admit that even with perfect pressure that cooling solution wouldn't be able to sustain anything over 60W with fan on full-speed and without eventually throttling. What a terribly designed CPU cooling solution. If they're going to go with a high-powered CPU like the 185H, they should have copied their laptop solutions and used both a vapor chamber and liquid metal, they've shown they can dissipate at least 180W in the last-gen G14 laptop with dual vapor chambers and liquid metal, and this thing has more space for thicker heatsinks and more airflow than a 14" gaming notebook. Another missed opportunity Asus!
A very good video. Professionally competent. Well structured, structured. Also the fact that they included the BIOS. Thank you for your work. Ein sehr gutes Video. Fachlich kompetent. Gut aufgebaut, strukturiert. Auch die Tatsache, dass sie das BIOS mit einbezogen haben. Danke für Ihre Arbeit.
What's the advantage of getting one of these against, let's say, a Strix or ProArt P16 laptop? Aren't these using laptop components? So it's basically a laptop without the screen and costs more? Perhaps better thermals?
Although the thermal performance is dissapointing, it could have been great to use Intel XTU or Throttlestop to play a little bit with it and check if thermal throttling could have been avoided.
Can you test the Beelink GTi14 with their EGPU dock? Looks really interesting and would be good to see the cooling solution and how well the egpu solution works. Cheers
In my country it comes for 2.200€ No thanks, i can go for a small form factor pc that is not that bigger for almost half the price or around 1.000€ less.
Yeah , its around 2300€ in my area as well. For this type of money you can get an 18inch laptop with RTX4080 and BEST CPU there is on the market be it Razen or Intel chips. Its insane what they are asking for this unit.
@@thephoenixchantwhy lower fan noises? My sub 10L case with an Rtx 4090 and the 7800x3d runs super super quiet thanks to noctua fans and costum fan curves.
Oh. My. Gosh. You really don't have an idea how to maintain modern notebook hardware. All new PCs use phase change thermo interfaces. And you cover CPU and GPU with paste like it is a peanut butter sandwich... Of course it's gonna throttle!
Great video. It's good to see someone go into greater depth on these PCs.
They have these things called Air conditioning.

build your own itx small sff build ? you will also save some money and better performance, temps, future upgradable

Love your content and delivery…keep it up.
I think the thermal pad you mention at 7:51 is for the M.2 slots... not the GPU. It lines up with the bottom of what you show on the screen.
I was going to point this out as well. You are correct, the orange thermal pad is for the other 2 M.2 slots, not the cpu or gpu.
Considering the bulk of the fan module, they could have gone with standard sized case fans rather than laptop blowers.
why why only one thunderbolt 4 port? deal breaker for me. I dont understand the logic here. There are way smaller miniPC with two USB4 ports.
because you add a adaptor and get more thunderbolt ports, there is no space for more ports already

It really looks like a NUC inside. I was interested in why you SD file copy was so fast. You were going to come back to it and I don't see it.
Dude. Great content.
trim down the battery screen keyboard touchpad from a laptop there you go YOU HAVE A NUC ! Innovation at peak apple level 👏🏻🍎

Technotice just went up 1000% in my eyes when I saw the Warhammer 40k: Darktide shortcut on the desktop " For the Emperor"
I’d be more impressed if SM2 was on the desktop!
So, like a Minisforum AtomMan G7 Ti / G7 Ti (as a 4060 instead) ? and near $1,0000 cheaper
Minisforum is noisier and has no Thunderbolt and 1 less SSD M2 slot. Still better thermals and price than this one
"Task Master, that's funny" 🤣🤣🤣🤣3:13
first one to get it! :)

I dont get why you’d do this VS building your own slightly larger machine with way better hardware. Overpriced for what it is.
@@zlfjo4rd0ei ah, the enthusiasm makes sense now. Not exactly a credible source anymore.

the ultimate steam machine
This channel has been brought to you by ASUS !!!
We need 980 model with 4080 mobile gpu ❤🎉
The price is high and the quality is questionable, what kind of bait is this under the Asus sign?
This will be more than likely a question of value. I am paying Ferrari prices for middling Ford components?
I looked out for this machine for months and in that time Chinese mini pc's made it a relic. It's already outdated.
To much thermal paste mate. A thick barrier keeps the heat there and not transfering it to the radiator/cooler. Way to much paste!
It;s INTEL afterall
Did i hear 35 GB of memory??
this is definitely defective cooling on the cpu.
Put price for brand A SUS

Way overpriced
😂😂😂I will never buy this heater😅😅
nothing is mini about it
I'm not too fond of paid videos - need to put some onscreen specs with the price or stop filming this...
ASUS using a time machine to find USB 2.0 ports.
Not much more than usb 2.0 needed for things like mouse and keyboard, or even connecting a Blackmagic console or the like.
Overpriced garbage
