If your minature is real you you definitely should work more on your self-cofidence since you do look... normal to me. Looks like you have a nice smile, maybe not best suited most flattering glasses and this can be easily changed, maybe someone could help you with more flattering haircut but in general you don't look like a man with zero dating or succesful social life chances. It's a combination of looks and height & weight proportionality. About 20yrs ago I was mad because I wasn't getting attention from the ladies like I used to in college. Then it dawned on me that while I lifted weights I was also 25 pounds heavier. So I lost that 25 pounds and started getting attention from the ladies again. Most women seem to prefer slimmer men or men that aren't too large or stocky.

If I had a dime for every time when I said to myself "this person seemed attractive until they opened their mouth" it would make a zillion now. So no, looks are soemthing since humans have a sense of aesthetic and some idea of proportions that may somehow carry some information about health and maybe about someone's genetic make up what may matter for human offspring. You're right. Just recently, me & my sister joined a gym. I was shocked that like 70%+ of the men there were attractive. However, it's safe to assume 2/3 are somewhere in-between arrogant & insecure. Which also leads to depression. They haven't worked on themselves mentally, & are compensating with material goods/looks. But like you said, at the end of the day you have to live with yourself. Don’t give up, looks maxxing is real, and if you can’t change your looks - income/wealth, humor/personality, hobbies, philosophy/knowledge/experiences can all make you attractive to women. I didn’t really date in HS, college and a few years after graduating. I wasn’t really trying, was focused on my career, chilling with friends/family and partying. Couple of hookups here and there but nothing regular. I generally considered myself average looking or even unattractive even though it was the best physical shape I’d ever been. Really average women would act turned off or reject me and I wasn’t making good money at the time to offset it. I started to travel in my mid 20s both weekend trips and longer backpacking trips abroad, and something started to click. Might have just been hostel culture and backpacking culture, but started getting lucky with very beautiful women both locals and fellow travelers. And whatever happened the boost in my confidence stuck. Back home started to looksmax in terms of how I dressed, groomed, hygiene, diet, posture and my career was on the upswing. But it was more about confidence and how I carry myself. Wasn’t even working out or jacked and I’m kinda short/average height but I stayed slim and athletic naturally. Now I’m in my early 30s and I’m a ladykiller. Even after getting laid off and being broke for a period, I could more or less attract any woman I want. Even married women and women in relationships were willing to risk it all. I realized I was attractive all long not just in terms of looks but my vibe, it was just my lack confidence that was hurting me. Attitude truly determines your latitude when it comes to women, career and life in general. No one who hates themselves is gonna succeed in anything unfortunately.

The problem with dating and self-improvement is.... it's focused on a "self". And partly most social life, so romantic life and sex life issues stem from a fact that fitness movement, social media and all kinds of self-improvement trainings are focused on a self, not on others. And sex is a social activity , it's done with other people so it requires a focus on other, not on a self. So sports can partly help but much more if there are "team sports" and not "individual sports". And a lot of sports popular with single males are in fact individual sports, so they help the physique but not so much their sex life or romantic life.

One of the few times my below average looks didn't matter was when i got a sales job at a store. My then boss actually told me that they chose between me and a guy who looked like Brad Pitt, but they needed someone with a brain and that gave me the advantage, weird form of flattery but i took it and ran with it lol. Looks DO matter, for everything in life, but even if you lack in that department there are times when you can get that thing you want, you just have to fight harder than the Brad Pitt look alike to get it.

In my experience, looks are indeed absolutely crucial. I have a funny face - funny in the sense that I can look very good and very bad. Very bad, because unfortunately I tend to have very big dark circles under my eyes, which can practically cover my whole face. I haven't yet found out why this is. Most people treat me like a leper in this case and women look at me in disgust. But sometimes these dark circles have almost disappeared and my face looks clear. In these cases, I often get compliments and appreciative looks. So I'm a bit of a two-face, which is why I can definitely say that looks are pretty much all-important.

this is just my opinion, but I've been attracted to women who were not physically attractive in the face, but they had something about themselves that made up for it. Great personality, a nice body, or just a certain feature that they possessed which I found hot. Being facially challenged can definitely be overcome. And many people are agressive in a workplace towards physically attractive people and avoid promoting them for example. So maybe a young sexy female waitress can be successful at work but being too handsome may prevent a man from getting promoted and having a good career.

It's a combination of looks and height & weight proportionality. About 20yrs ago I was mad because I wasn't getting attention from the ladies like I used to in college. Then it dawned on me that while I lifted weights I was also 25 pounds heavier. So I lost that 25 pounds and started getting attention from the ladies again. Most women seem to prefer slimmer men or men that aren't too large or stocky.

Problem is, guys who have little to no experience with women often won't know the difference. Looks absolutely make it easier for you to get in the door, however they do not seal the deal. So looks can be "aesthetically pleasing for us" but this is not why we choose to interact with other people more often than with others or why we do decide to have sex with someone. As for this in males actually how they smell, so how fresh their clothes are and how they smell like they are not too closely genetically related to a female matters more. So if a woman likes one guy over another guy she can literally "sniff it" on a guy that he and not his friend is a better match for her. No bullshit approach? Stats on how often guys change and wash their underwear and jeans. Or their bedsheets. Those are scary. And this is in fact on what dating success depends more than on gym attendence. Well, this is not " no bullshit approach" since we have this invention called "science" and science proves that social media fixation with overfocus on looks is ... merely a fixation. Neither for romantic life nor for other spheres of human life for people who do not make a living on modelling or acting or porn looks do not matter so much. And given the rise of generative AI models in near future looks may matter even less since we already have AI models and actors much cheaper than human ones. You're right. Just recently, me & my sister joined a gym. I was shocked that like 70%+ of the men there were attractive. However, it's safe to assume 2/3 are somewhere in-between arrogant & insecure. Which also leads to depression. They haven't worked on themselves mentally, & are compensating with material goods/looks. But like you said, at the end of the day you have to live with yourself. The second issue is they go after women who do not want them.

I didn’t really date in HS, college and a few years after graduating. I wasn’t really trying, was focused on my career, chilling with friends/family and partying. Couple of hookups here and there but nothing regular. I generally considered myself average looking or even unattractive even though it was the best physical shape I’d ever been. Really average women would act turned off or reject me and I wasn’t making good money at the time to offset it.
I started to travel in my mid 20s both weekend trips and longer backpacking trips abroad, and something started to click. Might have just been hostel culture and backpacking culture, but started getting lucky with very beautiful women both locals and fellow travelers. And whatever happened the boost in my confidence stuck.
Back home started to looksmax in terms of how I dressed, groomed, hygiene, diet, posture and my career was on the upswing. But it was more about confidence and how I carry myself. Wasn’t even working out or jacked and I’m kinda short/average height but I stayed slim and athletic naturally.
Now I’m in my early 30s and I’m a ladykiller. Even after getting laid off and being broke for a period, I could more or less attract any woman I want. Even married women and women in relationships were willing to risk it all. I realized I was attractive all long not just in terms of looks but my vibe, it was just my lack confidence that was hurting me. Attitude truly determines your latitude when it comes to women, career and life in general. No one who hates themselves is gonna succeed in anything unfortunately.

One of the few times my below average looks didn't matter was when i got a sales job at a store. My then boss actually told me that they chose between me and a guy who looked like Brad Pitt, but they needed someone with a brain and that gave me the advantage, weird form of flattery but i took it and ran with it lol. Looks DO matter, for everything in life, but even if you lack in that department there are times when you can get that thing you want, you just have to fight harder than the Brad Pitt look alike to get it.

In my experience, looks are indeed absolutely crucial. I have a funny face - funny in the sense that I can look very good and very bad. Very bad, because unfortunately I tend to have very big dark circles under my eyes, which can practically cover my whole face. I haven't yet found out why this is. Most people treat me like a leper in this case and women look at me in disgust.
But sometimes these dark circles have almost disappeared and my face looks clear. In these cases, I often get compliments and appreciative looks. So I'm a bit of a two-face, which is why I can definitely say that looks are pretty much all-important.

I am going to give some optimism for the dudes out there. I do not have a good looking face.
