Hi Aaron, I love stromatolite and porphyry, great buys! I so bummed that I miss the show though. But I love Crawford, Nebraska. Great rockhounding there. I might have try to get up there.
Hey there! Trying to find your video where you explain the difference between grassland fairburns, signers, etc. can you help me? I almost watched all your videos trying to find it and I can’t lol.. thanks! Also, really love your videos, have you ever thought about doing giveaways? That’s something fun I’ve seen others do and it could be meaningful to your subscribers getting something from you, I know it would me! Thanks for doing you! We’re gonna be up that way over Labor Day, maybe we’ll try to stop by and see ya! :)
@@shaymom28 howdy! I can’t remember which video it is in either. Sorry! I may do giveaways in the future. Thanks for tuning in and best luck out there!
@@shaymom28 basically, a signer is just trace fairburn pattern on a stone, usually more host stone than pattern makes it a signer. They can be on hills or grasslands agate. The grasslands fairburns (true fairburn agates) are just hills Fairburn that got worn out of the minnelusa formation and washed out to the grasslands millions of years ago. The hills fairburn style are found in the minnelusa formation or very near. The hills stuff is generally west of highway 79, and grasslands is east of highway 79. Again, best luck out there!
@@waywardwoodward that’s helpful, thank you!! Is there any chance you could give me an idea or hint of where rock bars on the Cheyenne river are? I have done so much research, made phone calls, and google earth is not helpful, and no luck.. unfortunately I can’t have boots on the ground as much as I’d like, so I have to try to narrow down that vast area as best I can but I haven’t come up with anywhere there could be rock bars. Any help would be much appreciated!!
@@shaymom28 that’s a tough one to answer because the bars can move year to year with erosion. You can usually spot them though on Google Earth as they are just a white sandy looking bar with no vegetation. Generally on the inside corner of any bends. Other than a few access hike in points south of highway 44, which you can find using the MVUM trail maps, there aren’t a whole lot of river access areas that aren’t private land.
It just goes to show, don’t believe everything that you read. 😂
Nice work, those look great! Thanks for The Lone Star shout out! 😁
