  • This video is a short demo of how I prepare my Suri alpaca locks to use for felted angel/doll hair. I am using once ounce of washed Suri alpaca baby locks and showing you how I find the tips and pull the locks out to align them into a bundle.

I think I may have to do this from what I ordered from your Etsy site. I just ordered today so am trying to learn about fibers and needle felting. What dye do you use to get the different colors? Does Alpaca dye well?

Hello again Grandma Sez So :) Thank you for supporting my farm ;) You can do this with alpaca fibers or you can use a dog slicker brush and smooth it out as well. You can also just fluff it up and use it as is! Your creativity is your guide! I use two kinds of dyes depending on my projects- I use the Kool aid packets without sugar if I just want something quick and fun. I end up doing this more often. I also use a professional eco dye but I haven't done that in a while. I have a tutorial on how to dye on my RUclips channel here and at my website. Enjoy and let me know if you have more questions any time! wisteriasuriranch.com/fiber-tutorials/easy-wool-dyeing-tutorial/
