I am happily married and have been with my husband for almost 34 years. We have 2 wonderful children, 8 grandchildren, and a new great-grandson. I love my family with all my heart. They are very supportive of me and always there for me. But I have lived with ADHD (which I just found out I had about 5 years ago), depression, and anxiety all of my life. Even though I have a wonderful, loving family sometimes you can't control what your body does. I started using the "Happy Planner" about 8 years ago and decorating it. I have tried other planners but always go back to the "Happy Planner", it is the BEST!! Even after all the years of using it, I have learned so much from watching your videos. As well as how to use it more to help my ADHD better. So yes you are helping so many people!!!! I am so sorry about you and Mike!! You are right though you will be alright!! We are all here to listen and help along your journey, we love you!!!

Sending you love, support (and thanks).

Your transparency and able to share the hard stuff is what makes me a big fan of your channel. I enjoy your creativity, tips and tricks also. I have to applaud both you and Michael for being adult enough and love each other enough to respect the reality and embrace the growth. It's hard and it sucks. I'm 53 and single and it is HARD.
Praying for you and your healing - you have inspired me with your story. Much love and hugs!

I just wanted to say thank you so much for always being so vulnerable, open, and honest. Mental health is so important, and something that we should all be able to talk more openly about, without feeling like there is a stigma behind it, or behind having days when depression rears it's ugly head. You have no idea how much your heartfelt words touch those of us watching you, knowing that we are not alone. I hope that despite the trials that you have been through over the past few years, you know you are not alone as well.

Hi Mary Ellen. My name is Bethany. I bought a bunch of Happy Planner stuff about 8 years ago, (I actually forget but it was a while ago.) I tried several times to use it and I’ve WANTED to buy then fell off. I recently started again more consistently and also found your channel. I am a new subscriber but have binge watched so many of your videos. A lot of times I just listen to them sorta like a podcast at work and look at the spreads occasionally. I love your style and I love how you encourage others to find their own style because I also think that is so important. I especially love the journal type spreads because I’m using my planner as sort of a journal/ planner. I love how genuine you are; that is my favorite thing about you. We have a lot in common and I even used to live in your area but I live in Indiana now. I think we would get along super well-I have ADHD as well, I used to scrapbook and I’m also super creative. It’s actually funny sometimes when you talk I’m like “me too!”.
Anyway, sorry I’m rambling. I have been going through a really hard time in my life as well and am really liking this self care page idea. I look forward to more ideas. All the ideas you shared make me feel better. I am also really getting into Bible journaling and also have been running which makes me feel better. I am hoping to stay more consistent with planning because I love the creative process and I’m so happy to have found your channel. I wish you the best I’m sorry you are going through a hard time.

At 51 I’ve come to realize that “I’m okay” doesn’t always mean you come out of it as happy as you once were, or found that magic reason they say stuff happens for. More often it just means you have learned to be at peace with where you are, and accept who you are right now. The best we can all do is be kind to ourselves and hopefully gain some solace in knowing we are never truly alone.Even strangers on the internet can empathize and give you invisible support

We're the same age, I too have been through so much this lifetime! A therapist once told me I've been through what most women haven't been through their entire lifetime. (Note that didn't make me feel great, to say the very least). Yes we all go through so much. Plus being menopausal, you're emotional already. I'm sorry you're going through this hurt. I suffer from depression and PTSD. I'm sending you gentle hugs 🤗. Please don't forget to take special time for yourself. You are loved, important and valued. You're one of my favorite content creators btw. TFS as always ❤️🤗 sending prayers your way friend 🙏🏼

Just hearing those words can make a person at their lowest make a world of difference.
I am depressed and do the same things you do. I binge watch movies and try to do certain things and I hate it bc I am now limited physically due to a cerebral aneurysm and 3 surgeries to get it stabilized. Unfortunately it takes 3years of rehabilitation per surgery. Them lost over 10 family members from covid including my mother. So there's a huge void in my heart and my mind is cluttered and your videos brings me peace just to watch you plan and decorate. With that being said I have ordered my planner and received and I'm going to give it a try. It may take a while to get started bc the stickers are expensive but I will start soon. I'm disabled now and lost. I pray I will be able to do it. I am truly an introvert and basically removed myself from everyone. Remember me and I will let you know if it helps me. I usually write on anything I pick up then lose it. So, here's🥂 to your uplifting words and videos. You are loved and appreciated❤, everyday the sun shines even on our cloudier days. Thank you so much😢😊

This is such a great idea❣️ We all get down now and then. Those of us who suffer from depression know it is a daily struggle. I have a section in my planner I call “ My Happiness Project.” It has some of my goals categorized by Mind, Body and Spirit . It also is where I do my mood and gratitude tracking. I usually glue the monthly calendar pages together, but your spread here has given me inspiration. 🥰🤗

❤Thank You for sharing this- are you remaining friends with Mike? Your a strong lady, i can tell. This really hit home for me, long story short, i who have 1 child left at home, shes 16 was crafting about 'empty nester' around the corner...when out of the blue, my daughter who is 28 with 5 beautiful children ages 8 - 19 months, literally overnight changed from a loving caring mother whos every step was her children to an absent mom, running around with a tuff crowd and leaving her children for days on end with their dad. I know am a grandparent raising my 19 month old grandson Xavier. I love him and all my grandchildren- but i have dark days.
Today, after listening to you - i don't feel so alone today-
Its not easy when u are feeling your weakest to muster strength and try to be strong.
    Crafting is my 'Happy Time'
    Your videos are AMAZING 😊

I've been watching you for , for a minute. I don't comment alot I just sit back and watch you do your thing but I feel compelled to say this.
I too have suffered great losses in the past 6 years. Within 3 months I lost my dad..my hero. 3 months later my husband walked out and I never saw him again. That was 2016. 2019 I lost my oldest and closest sister. I lost a daughter many years ago so I know loss. I know that you are struggling , I know that you are very vulnerable right now but at the same time you are incredibly strong.
To be able to still commit to doing all that you do whilst still going through all this in your personal life , I can't even imagine how difficult that is.
But I want to commend you on making the right choice for you. I'm sure that it would have been easy to stay. Companionship, financial security, all those things but you're exactly right about compatibility. I loved my husband but we were not compatible. It was hard when he left and how he did it and moved on so easily but the fact is , I could not be myself with him and that truly does matter. In your good and bad times you need to be yourself and be accepted as the person you are.
Take the time you need for you. Your daughter will be leaving soon , spend all the time you can with her. You're young still , you are truly beautiful, inside, outside. The right will find you. .I think you are an absolutely amazing woman and I love to hear you talk about you daughter and your animals and where you are in life. And , I'm sure that's a great release for you.
You are going to be just fine , I have no doubt. I think you know by now the people outside your camera lense care about you and will support you , no matter what you decide.
Much love and respect always , 🙏

I'm so sorry you're having to go through this horrible time. 2023 came in like a wrecking ball for me from December 31st when I had quite a bit of flooding and property damage due to the California Rains, I got strep a week later, and on January 26th I had to put my horse down. I had him for 26 years, since I was 11 and it has been horrible. But there are brighter days ahead and taking care of your mental health is paramount. I suffer from chronic major depression and and anxiety ( to the point I literally have a psychiatric service dog) I am really looking forward to utilizing a spread like this. Thank you for being transparent and sharing. It really means a lot to the people who need it in that moment.

Hi Mary Ellen. I know I am rather new to your channel, but I've now watched a ton of your videos. I noticed your ring was gone before you said anything and I was hoped I was wrong. Like everyone here I too am sorry about your news. I thought I would take a second and tell you how in just a short time you and your videos have helped me to find a new hobby as well as helped me to get back the ability to write. I too am a perfectionist and not being able to write very well has been very hard on my mental health. Thanks to you I've decided I need to keep pushing through what was put onto me last May and remember each day is a step towards my goal. On to my next thought. I don't know if you've ever watched the movie The Family Stone, but if you need a great movie about a family that loves each other no matter what and you need a good cry then I highly recommend. Take care of yourself and give Bumble a hug for me. Lisa

You are one of the strongest women I have ever known. ❤️ Like you said, youve been thru hell, and come through with grace and growth. I'm excited to watch as you rebuild. But it does suck that you will lose your dream craft room. 😒 You can just build another one!!

Hi, Mary Ellen! Thank you for this video and the beautiful layout you created, it was inspirational to me, thank you! Also, the JOY of your nail color! That was such a pretty, uplifting color, what is it? I love that you picked it, and at this time, maybe it's the little things, it is for me, just seeing pretty color helps sometimes to lift us up (many times, actually 😉) -- thank you again, and for being present, here with us, in the ups and downs, you are much loved.❤

I'm really sorry to hear about the break-up. You guys really gave it all you had before you decided to end it. I'm also admittedly a little sad that you won't have that incredible custom craft room that you built in his basement! That's a real shame - here's hoping you get a place where you can recreate that space for yourself.

I stopped watching this video even before you finished explaining because I felt like I wanted to give you a big hug. You don't know me but I don't have to know someone to understand their pain. I don't know your whole story, only parts of it, and what part I do know would cause any normal human being a great deal of pain.
My heart goes out to you, and like you said - you will be OK - eventually. I know it doesn't feel this way right now, but it was better to break it off now than later after you had gotten married. I love the fact that you know when to call it a day and move on, because the path to healing starts where that path of unhappiness ended. Now excuse me I have to go back to watching your video. I truly thank you for sharing your world. 😊

I'm so sorry, Mary Ellen. It's shocking when you think you know what your life will be like and then that future is erased. You've been through that too many times over the last few years. Thanks for everything you do.

My heart goes out to you. Sharing your heartbreak with others is difficult. I know how it is. I lost my infant son several years ago to SIDS, my husband died suddenly of a heart attack about eight years ago. Going through these experiences just makes me realize how strong we really are even though we are hurting like heck inside . Sending you hugs.

Oh that is so sad! I feel for you. I started dating my husband when I was almost 42 so I went through several breakups before that and I know how hard it is. Wishing you much comfort. One thing I can say in hindsight is that although the breakups were hard at the time, looking back I am glad that they happened. I hope that you find the guy that is perfect for you.

Life occasionally does not go as planned but it sure does make it easier when we take time to do the little things for ourselves. I can’t believe how many of the things you listed are my go-to activities to “brighten” my mood. They do help…

Instead of hallmark movies I do KDramas! Most of the rom com ones are exactly like hallmark movies - as in they all have the same sort of formula! 😂❤❤❤
    I love them!
