I think a weird thing happens with a lot of Mcu movies, where audiences kind of make up their mind they love or hate it way before they see it based off popular opinion on the internet and gossip, and it seems to me that whenever people go in blind, with no expectations, they end up loving a lot of the movies that people "hated" when they came out... A very similar thing happened with the newer Ant man movie, people felt they knew what they should get with the new one because of how the first two movies were, and they spread into some new areas and aesthetics and themes, and focused on characters that were more background the first couple movies, and people just decided that it was "bad" before it even came out... but most people that react to it blind (from what I've watched) seem to love the new one just as much if not more than the previous two... they hear people didn't like it but don't read all the reasons why and so they don't get incepted by the criticisms and walk away loving it... these movies are all pretty popcorny, but people get all excited about what they think they should be and get pissed off... As a long time comic book reader, I agree there is plenty of material these writers could be utilizing that literally won awards, but at the same time, I don't hate the majority of these movies, and just accept them for what they are, the first wave of a genre that's probably gonna be around for a long time, and that will likely evolve and get better, similar to how tv shows have evolved and become more cinematic. I think for the first wave of a genre (and knowing how hard it is to have actual creative autonomy when you're making a AAA Hollywood studio movie) these flicks are all pretty bangerang, and I'm excited to see how they change over time. Anytime someone wonders why movies seem like they make weird production choices, just go watch an episode of Project Greenlight on hbo; filmmaking in Hollywood, especially for a large studio, means the writers and directors are beholden to a lot of decision making and backroom convos that we never even think about while watching the movie.
@@EarnestEgregore yeah these are kinda the first one of their kind, so when they get continued or remade in the future it will be INSANE to see them! yes, you're right we are trying to be as blind to these as we can!

Frigga had sent an illusion of herself to Loki’s cell so she could talk to him through it, Odin had forbidden them from seeing each other so, she found a way around it, Frigga’s illusions and magic are like Loki’s because she was the one that taught him magic. This movie gets a lot of hate, but it's actually my favorite Thor movie,
that makes sense, was this how that concept was introduced (Loki and his mom) in the movie or did we miss something ? or was it supposed to be understood through that? just making sure it never laid it out for us.
@@TheOctobersReact In the comics, Frigga was the one who taught Loki magic to make as powerful as Thor, as he is originally a frost giant and not an Asguardian. They didn't really addressed it in the movies.
Also, many people don't like this movie because of the weak plot of it. The movie had a pretty average story and the villain was also very forgettable. Thor's lack of identity is also one of the biggest problems endured by Chris Hemsworth in this movie is Thor's lack of a defining identity, and the actor himself has picked up on this flaw.
I'm glad you all enjoyed this movie. I think it gets a little bit of a bad rap because it's judged in comparison to the movies around it -- and some of those are absolute bangers that are typically thought of as some of the best in the MCU. That's not to say this movie is perfect... for instance I wish they would have given Malekith a little more character development as the villain. But they did some really cool stuff in this movie, and it's pretty good overall. Crucial to the story arcs for both Thor and Loki.
Awww dont worry I was crying too during loki's death scene. Lol He's one of my favorites. Deep down he just wants to be loved and seen. He's complicated but he loves his family. The best kind of characters have layers. And i think somebody may have already mentioned it but loki's Mom taught him the magic that he knows. I think thats why their bond was so strong. Also i honestly like almost all of the early Marvel stuff. It didnt get sketchy until recently so enjoy!
Thor The Dark World isn't my favorite, but it isn't a bad movie by any means. And I think the human cast is delightful. The Asgardian characters are still pretty cool, and the dynamic between Thor and Loki just improves with each installment.
I can’t tell you how many mcu journeys I’ve watched on RUclips. Reactions wise. But I can tell you you guys are easily becoming one of my favorites. Love the dynamic you both have and just the chemistry works perfectly. So of course now I have to subscribe to the patreon to support the channel and enjoy the full lengths🫶🏿😅
You guys are fantastic! I had a feeling you would like this one. And the fact that you're paying attention to the details in is going to pay off in the future. I've never understood the hate for this film. Aaaaand it becomes pretty significant later. Having said that, buckle up, because from here on out, things really heat up! Can't wait.
It's all relative 😅 Even a "lesser" Marvel movie, like this one is generally rated as, is still very much enjoyable! As always a joy to see your reactions! Greeting from The Netherlands!
@@TheOctobersReact Hi, also from Georgia. Did you know that many of the Marvel productions use Trilith Studios in Fayetteville, GA? A number of locations around Atlanta have also been used. I live half a mile from one of them, but I won't tell you which until after you have seen that one to avoid spoilers.
The next movie your about to watch(Captain America: The winter Soldier) is heavily regarded as the best MCU movie of all time and one of the best superhero movies ever. In my opinion only four other mcu movies come slide to that one so be prepared😂 Love the reactions keep it up❤
I would agree that a lot of the older MCU movies that people bashed were actually pretty good movies. But the best thing right now... you guys are about to get into, hands down, seriously, EPIC territory in regards to the MCU. Everything goes up from here. Happy to have found your channel, very much enjoy your reactions!
this movie gets unnecessary hate for no reason but I still enjoy this movie and I have watched this movie 10 times it's such a good movie love this movie so much 😍😍😍
Never listen to anyone that says a movie is good or bad in the MCU. Because every movie has a specific purpose and direction it sends you in the MCU. So they can't be the same. It's a story coming together. So some movies will be more character development than other. Some call it filler. I say they are necessary. When you get further along you will fully understand what I'm talking about.
He also only lasted one season as Doctor Who, and refused to participate in any Who stuff afterwards. Maybe the problem is with Eccleston and not the projects.
Cant believe that right until this moment i had no idea the asgard nurses with jane were a) the lead girl from st trinians and b) the cult leader from the silent hill movie barbed wire lady
@@TheOctobersReact the St trinians movie is brilliant it's about a posh school full of naughty girls run by a crazy head teacher. Lots of famous faces in that movie too, silent hill the old one is extremely gory just to pre warn you but it does a great job of staying true to the movie, pyramid head in particular is so creepy
Fun fact Chris Hemsworth was actually kissing his wife in real life in the end credit scene where he's kissing Jane . Natalie Portman wasn't available to do the scene so they used his wife instead. His wife was in 3 fast and the furious movies
The reason most of the Marvel heroes live in New York(Thor being the exception) is because Stan Lee wanted it to easier for the characters he was creating to interact and team up so he based them all in different areas of New York: Cap is from Brooklyn, Spidey is from Queens, etc.
Also Stan Lee himself was from New York City. I got to meet him when we were both guests of a sci-fi convention, and his personality in real life was exactly the same as in his cameos.
“We like them all in their own way” That’s how one should approach the MCU movies. It’s part of huge tapestry, all elements woven together to tell a larger story
Phase 1- Phase 3 are part of the Infinity Saga. Is all about those infinity Stones. That is what the end credit scene starts introducing. Probably one of my fav is coming up next Cap America the Winter Soldier.
"I Accept Your Surrender." "How's Space?" "Betray Him And I'll Kill You." "This Is Much Better. Costume Is A Bit Much." "Out Of The Two Of Us, Which Can Actually Fly?" "Trust My Rage." "Your Brother Isn't Coming, Is He?" "I Didn't Do It For Him."
I love this movie so much the VFX and CGI in this movie is amazing the acting of each actor and actresses is amazing and the fight scenes in this movie are 🤩🤩🤩
@@TheOctobersReact the thing about the MCU I think most people don't understand is some movies are transitioning movies. So they don't see how good it was for it's purpose to progress the MCU.
It’s true this movie is not that well received as the others, but as long as you guys liked it, that’s all that matters. Winter Soldier is next and it’s one of my favorite MCU movies ever. It’s been called a political thriller
I would love to see that officer's report of the events. "Arrived on scene, missing person turned up. Officer Smith grabbed her to arrest her, we were all knocked on our backsides. I attempted to apprehend a large man who also turned up. He took the previously missing person in his arms and disappeared in a shower of rainbow colored lights, which left this strange mark in the pavement. We proceeded to arrest the people who called us." 17:15-17:30 Odin had forbidden Loki from seeing Frigga (mother). Being a witch, she has a similar power to send an image of herself to other places, much as we see Loki do. 19:50-19:55 Heimdall doesn't "smell something" his gift is the gift of sight. He sees everything that isn't hidden specifically from his abilities. That ship was shimmering to him, so he knew right where it was, even though it was invisible to everyone else. The Aether will defend its self, but as Thor was no threat to Jane, it did not need to defend its self from him, when it was in her. So treating injuries with it inside you, probably isn't a problem. If you trust and know the person treating the injury, the Aether will not feel threatened. How does she have service? The worlds are passing through each other, therefore the homeworld of the Dark Elves is passing through Earth, and so she's "in range" of a tower. Not hard to sci-fi + movie magic that out. 40:29-49:30 Wow... A reactor I don't have to explain Ley Lines to in a comment, when the subject comes up. To quote a certain Dark Lord. "Impressive. Most impressive."
I'm glad y'all don't put too much into what folks say in the comments because people tend to project what they dont like about a film on to the reactor/s. Just let folks watch a movie without showering them with what u don't like
Just want to say, I discovered you guys through Mr. October's exploration of Canada. As a Canadian myself, I really appreciated your ernest fascination with my country. Once I realized you were doing movie reactions, I was curious, and once I saw you were doing Marvel I was all in. I really like your humorous straight talk commentary and the banter between both of you. You guys are really focused viewers and it shows because you are picking up on all the clues and Easter eggs. I understand why you might find the New York, or earthbound setting repetitive. Just remember that most Marvel Superheroes are based in New Your because the creators wanted them to be relatable and Marvel Comics itself was based in New York. Don't worry though, there will be more a d more space stuff going forward. I really like this one despite the heat it gets as well. As for the mysterious Loki love that has eluded you so far? It mostly because a lot of the ladies think Tom Hiddleston is hot. The fan base likes him because he has been a great brand ambassador, ever since he appeared in full costume at the San Diego Comic Con to announce the Avengers movie in character. He is also just a compelling villain and foil.
Well, I am really glad that you found the channel. I apologize for my lack of uploading on the other channel. I am just doing this full-time here now and it takes all the Time in the world. I have to get more time efficient. It is becoming obvious why Loki is a fan favorite. We actually just got done watching guardians of the Galaxy tonight. We will be uploading it on Patreon tomorrow and hopefully it will be out Monday but it was my favorite so far I can’t wait for people to see it.
Hey, Octobers! Found this channel through Mr October's Canada reaction channel, and I've been working my way through your movie reactions. I gotta say, I appreciate that you guys give your honest opinions about films that you react to, even when you don't particularly care for the movie itself (eg Dune lol). So many reaction channels feel like they're forcing themselves to react positively for the audience, but you guys call it as you see it, and I respect that. As a couple/reactors I think you guys come across as down to earth, entertaining, and it seems like you guys genuinely enjoy your time together (which makes sense, since you've mentioned you have kids, and work a lot as well). I sincerely wish nothing but the best for yourselves, your family, and your channels. Keep up the great work!
thank you so much for this amazing wholesome comment. Mr October has not forgot about his other channel! I promise. Thanks for acknowledging the honesty, we didn’t know if this approach is effective but we do want to be honest with people about what we watch. You made our day with this one! Thanks again!
Good evening to you both! Glad you are enjoying the MCU so far! Hopefully, you're able to avoid spoilers from some of the comments here as some people can't control themselves haha. In any event, just to clarify for you - Loki had a much bigger attachment to his mother because she was the one who taught him magic. Cheers!
The hammer (Mjolnir) follows where Thor is, so when it 'no-clipped' back to Earth & set off to space it was about to travel towards the planet Thor & Malekith were fighting! The "blackhole bomb" Makekith uses seem to imply it works in the same principle like what would become the concept of Ant Man in later movies.
I was Hoping Y'all would Enjoy this one too, and I'm so glad that Y'all did!!👍 This is an Epic, Action-Packed Sequel that's always Fun and Funny to re-watch; what more did the Haters and Critics want..? A Friend of Mine asked the same question about Loki, about his Powers of Illusion, and it's certainly implied here that He was trained by Frigga, as Her own Powers looked so similar to His.
I think it’s less about how bad this movie is and more about how good the others are. Also, I’ll reiterate, people who say you’ll love a character in the future are spoiling the McU for you. I’d recommend mods. Great reaction
"Is that an elevator?" Nope. It's an "Elfevator." That Loki is slick, slippery, a bit greasy and slightly weaselly. But that is what makes him The Trickster. Tom Hiddleston screen tested for Thor. Casting thought he was perfect for Loki. They were right. Chris Hemsworth's first audition didn't go well. Liam Hemsworth also auditioned for Thor, but casting thought him to be too young for the part. Older brother Chris got a second look. He got some tips from Liam that helped Chris land the part. A family affair just like the family Thor has in the movies. Friendly sibling rivalry. There is a third Hemsworth brother, Luke who is the oldest. Agree that this is an underrated movie in the MCU. Malekith is the weak link. You are about to be hit in the face by a great movie. One of the best ever. If you get a chance, check out the British show 'The IT Crowd' that starred the guy who played Richard (Chris O'Dowd). Very funny.
This movie really isn't that bad. I mean, yeah, it isn't at the same energy level as The Avengers, but still, it is good, and it does amazing things for the characters involved. My favorite fact with it all is that your disbelief about Loki's death is exactly the reason why he is still alive in the MCU. Test audiences didn't believe he was dead when they saw it. The consensus was that he would have found a way to survive, so they re-wrote the scene to make that the way it played out, and the MCU has been better for it, ever since. Tom Hiddleston is a true gem of an actor, and I think that, especially with the next Thor movie, you're going to like him a lot more.
I’m so glad y’all agree with me and ended up liking The Dark World. For the longest time, this film has received so much unnecessary hate for simply being a better version of Thor 1 in every way. While it’s nowhere near the best MCU film, it’s absolutely far from the worst.
I actually enjoyed this movie when i saw it in the theater. In my opinion, having seen all of the movies and the Disney+ shows, I will admit that it is one of the weaker movies in comparison to what's to come. One fun fact is that in the post credit scene that was shot when you seen Jane and Thore kiss on the roof top that was not actually Natalie Portman playing Jane. That shot you only see her from behind and it was actually Chris Hemsworth's wife in that particular shot.
Fun Fact: The Incredible Hulk and Thor: The Dark World have the shortest run times out of all the MCU movies with the runtime of 1 hour and 52 minutes.
I'm surprised you think that most superhero movies WOULDN'T take place in New York. That's the classic location for like 90%+ of Marvel stories. As for DC, Batman's Gotham and Superman's Metropolis are analogues of NYC. There's been very little that takes place in space or any place noticeably different. The primary foe of the superhero is the criminal, and criminals live in the big cities. BTW, in mythology Sif is Thor's wife. And there are Light Elves and Dark Elves, and Light Dwarfs and Dark Dwarfs. And FWIW, the art design in the movie is superb.
This was a great movie. You'll find YOUR own personal favorites as you go along. I'm glad the two of you are free thinkers. I see you got your ears shortened, slick. Cool. Up next....... The Winter Soldier...... The plot thickens. Later.
This is one of my favorites! I don't know why people say it isn't good. The character development, Loki, the cool effects of the convergence on the fight at Greenwich, Darcy, the introduction of the third Infinity Stone (and in my opinion the most interesting one, although Malekith doesn't exactly use it creatively) . . . what's not to love?
One of the only reasons I’ve heard is because Malkith is a “ dumb, boring villain with no depth” but I can think of many villains in the mcu of movies well liked that fit that description. It’s not my favorite but I do enjoy it enough for multiple watches.
@dylancole1910 I agree that Malekith is pretty shallow and boring on his own. I just think that's okay because he's not on his own. He doesn't have to be well developed himself because he only exists as a catalyst for the development of Thor and Loki. It wouldn't have worked if the heroes had also been shallow, but they're far from it. I don't know; it clearly doesn't work for everyone, but it does for me.
Are you sure you guys still dislike Loki?? The only reason why I'm asking is because I'm pretty sure that I seen what looked to be some worry and concern appear on both your faces when he saves Jane. But wait.... How can you be worried about and concern for a character if you don't like that character?? How can this be?? To be fair, he really was gonna die if Thor hadn't have saved him. Hey guys I'm just messing around!!!! Thank you guys for another entertaining video. Keep On Keeping On!!!!
Another great reaction you two. And yes, this movie receives an underserved amount of hate from some of the MCU Fan Base, but you are right to watch it and judge for yourselves. Reportedly the woman that was kissing Chris Hemsworth at the end wasn't Natalie Portman but Hemsworth real-life wife Elsa Pataky. If this is actually true or just a vague rumor, I don't know but it does make an interesting story. Don't forget the weird white-haired guy in the post credits scene. You might be seeing him again, but I will neither confirm nor deny that LOL!
Winter Soldier is a favorite of many, you will see why. (If you liked Thor 2 when lots say it was the worst, then everything else will be super spectacular! I didn't think it was so bad.)
I love this movie. For me, the best thing about Thor 1 and 2 is the relationship between Thor and Loki. This movie really showcases that relationship, so I like Thor 2 better than Thor 1. I don’t understand the hate it gets. I think it’s great that you guys try to read and respond to all comments, but the comments you receive contain a lot of spoilers. It’s more fun to go into these movies without spoilers. Maybe you can get a friend to tell you which comments to skip for now.
The Dark Elves employ Black Hole grenades which implode sucking all matter organic or inorganic into a micro singularity. Warhammer 40k has a similar item called a Vortex grenade which has similar effects. 😮 I think the reason this movie gets so much hate is that it was a bit too dark in its subject matter. The death of Frigga seemed pretty senseless. Yes, it gave Loki a reason to join forces with Thor, so I understand from a plot point why they did it. But it seems short sighted in the long term. 😢
The death of Frigga was not senseless. She wouldn't tell Malekith what he wanted and he doesn't care about the life of Asgardians. It wouldn't make any sense for him to keep her alive.
“When I think of super hero movies, I didn’t think it would take place in New York” 😳 Superhero movies STARTED in New York….Superman…Batman….Spiderman, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Punisher, etc… Sometimes you just say things that make zero sense.
Don’t really worry about peoples opinions on these movies. Going in blind is the best because you decide if you like it or not. If you loved this one, maaaaaan get ready is all imma say. Next one is Captain america 2 🔥🔥. Can’t wait for your reaction on that one. Btw you’ve already been introduced to 3 of the 6 infinity stones. The build up is crazy
The problem I have with how they do Loki is there is a continuity issue. When he’s not actually there, you can fall through him (Thor tried to tackle Loki in Avengers and Thor went into the cage designed for Hulk) yet in this movie, Thor is physically holding Loki and it’s still not Loki 🤷♂️
For me, Thor 2 is quite good. I dunno who said it as bad as Hulk. But i guess that's why they put Thor and Hulk together 49:12 in Thor 3 to redeem it? Anyway cant wait your new reaction.
So, you are right that The Incredible Hulk and this movie are considered the worst movies in the first three phases of the MCU... but honestly what that really means is that they are the floor. I agree with you, they are a fun watch and I was happy I saw them and don't mind watching again... but they are the ones I like least in that group. It speaks more of the quality of the others than it does about these being bad.
Really loving your reactions! I did like this movie a lot although it suffers by comparison to most of the MCU. The actions scenes were brisk and the special effects were pretty good. This was also a fan turning point for Loki, where he goes from an outright villain to more of a mischievous scamp. You know you cannot trust him but he is fun to watch. However the color palate was dull and the made-up language for the Dark Elves was unnecessary. The actors didn't like it and it was clumsy for the viewers. They didn't make up a language for the Frost Giants in the first movie, those all spoke English. Overall a fun watch (even better in the second viewing if you come back to it) but it just doesn't stand up to most of the others.
I’m a huge marvel guy and the next calf is in the top 10 but not close to the best but it’s very good. Civil war is the best captain movie, infinity war and endgame are the best
@@TheOctobersReact I’m not spoiling anything but try to keep track of the infinity stones and where they are because they are what this saga is about until endgame. 1 tesseract Aka Space town is on Asgard now 2. The reality stone aka eather you just saw. Loki’s septer on earth contains one you probably just saw that’s the mind stone
The Aether and the Tesseract (the cube) are both Infinity Stones per the Collector's speech. And he has one (the Aether), five to go. That's all I have to say about that. As for the Hulk? What Hulk?!? Nothing to see there, move along... ;o)
Yeah, personally I wasn't a huge fan of this movie when it first came out. The Dark Elves really really weren't used enough. I feel like they have a lot of potential to go, still. They haven't made anymore appearences after this, but would love to see them developed a bit more. I guess up till this point we'd had very action-packed and super fun movies and then this one took a more serious tone, so maybe at the time we didn't take to it very well, but it has it's good moments. The scene where Loki and Thor worked together so well was cool. That part surprised me too. But glad you guys are loving the ride. Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galazy are my favourite two movies out of all of them so hope you like Winter Soldier. Thanks guys. See you in the next one :)
Honestly I personally like this movie. So the Aether is one of the 6 Infinity Stones which you will learn about more in the guardians of the galaxy movie. Also the tesseract and loki's scepter are/have Infinity Stones as well.
Can say you don't like Loki but the fact your first instinct was worry when was getting sucked up and the smile when he was revealed impersonating Odin speaks more then any words you can say lol
Let’s face it: there is no bad MCU movie or tv show, just worse productions in comparison to each other. Even the worst has some beautiful moments that are used to build the world in the future.

We are too!!! Yes!!! Thank you! One of our favorites! We love your opinions! Haha this movie had a ton of story to add
It didnt get sketchy until recently so enjoy!
yes he’s pretty layered ! but i really am starting to like him!
Thor The Dark World isn't my favorite, but it isn't a bad movie by any means. And I think the human cast is delightful. The Asgardian characters are still pretty cool, and the dynamic between Thor and Loki just improves with each installment.
100% agree with what you said!
I can’t tell you how many mcu journeys I’ve watched on RUclips. Reactions wise. But I can tell you you guys are easily becoming one of my favorites. Love the dynamic you both have and just the chemistry works perfectly. So of course now I have to subscribe to the patreon to support the channel and enjoy the full lengths🫶🏿😅
this comment rocks thanks so much for the kind words ! we appreciate you more than you know !
24:08 Frigga taught Loki his magic tricks 😊
You guys are fantastic! I had a feeling you would like this one. And the fact that you're paying attention to the details in is going to pay off in the future. I've never understood the hate for this film. Aaaaand it becomes pretty significant later. Having said that, buckle up, because from here on out, things really heat up! Can't wait.
thank you so much! we really can’t wait to get into it then. 😃 thanks for watching
Frigga was the only person other than Thor that Loki loved. She was the one who taught him magic.
It's all relative 😅
Even a "lesser" Marvel movie, like this one is generally rated as, is still very much enjoyable!
As always a joy to see your reactions! Greeting from The Netherlands!
hello from georgia, USA! thanks for watching and yes the lesser seem to be the emotional ones! lol 😂
@@TheOctobersReact imo there really are no "bad" MCU films. There may be ones people don't necessairly connect with as much, but none are really bad.
Winter Soldier has one of the most jaw dropping moments ;)
can’t wait
Winter soldier is top 4 MCU all time greats!
The next movie your about to watch(Captain America: The winter Soldier) is heavily regarded as the best MCU movie of all time and one of the best superhero movies ever. In my opinion only four other mcu movies come slide to that one so be prepared😂 Love the reactions keep it up❤
that is so exciting. bc we are about to watch it in just a few seconds lol.
@@TheOctobersReactit's definitely top 2 along with the 1st black panther movie
I would agree that a lot of the older MCU movies that people bashed were actually pretty good movies. But the best thing right now... you guys are about to get into, hands down, seriously, EPIC territory in regards to the MCU. Everything goes up from here. Happy to have found your channel, very much enjoy your reactions!
thanks so so much and yes we watched the winter soldier omg how the plot thickens!
This is my Most favorite THOR movie. The Dark Elves are one of my favorite Villains in the MCU
this movie gets unnecessary hate for no reason but I still enjoy this movie and I have watched this movie 10 times it's such a good movie love this movie so much 😍😍😍
it was so good, you’re not wrong at all
Never listen to anyone that says a movie is good or bad in the MCU. Because every movie has a specific purpose and direction it sends you in the MCU. So they can't be the same. It's a story coming together. So some movies will be more character development than other. Some call it filler. I say they are necessary. When you get further along you will fully understand what I'm talking about.
the actor who plays Volstagg, the red haired warrior, his name is Ray Stevenson passed away just a few months ago
omg no!
Thor Dark World Good Final Battle and Ending.
We start the Infiny Stones count!
The Tesseract (the funny blue cube): Safe in Asgard.
The Aether (angry red smudge): With the Collector
More to come!
yes only 2 confirmed so far 👍🩷
Just to clarify, when Thor blasted the Aether with His Lightning...He re-crystalised it.
I feel bad for Christopher Eccleston. I saw him in person last year and he was very candid about how much he didn't like doing this movie.
He also only lasted one season as Doctor Who, and refused to participate in any Who stuff afterwards. Maybe the problem is with Eccleston and not the projects.
Cant believe that right until this moment i had no idea the asgard nurses with jane were a) the lead girl from st trinians and b) the cult leader from the silent hill movie barbed wire lady
dang never knew either of those but want to check them out !
@@TheOctobersReact the St trinians movie is brilliant it's about a posh school full of naughty girls run by a crazy head teacher. Lots of famous faces in that movie too, silent hill the old one is extremely gory just to pre warn you but it does a great job of staying true to the movie, pyramid head in particular is so creepy
dont listen to the fan boys about what movies are good or bad. watch them and see what you enjoy. Love your reactions.
thank you so much
Fun fact Chris Hemsworth was actually kissing his wife in real life in the end credit scene where he's kissing Jane . Natalie Portman wasn't available to do the scene so they used his wife instead. His wife was in 3 fast and the furious movies
The reason most of the Marvel heroes live in New York(Thor being the exception) is because Stan Lee wanted it to easier for the characters he was creating to interact and team up so he based them all in different areas of New York: Cap is from Brooklyn, Spidey is from Queens, etc.
pretty cool, like Stan!
Also Stan Lee himself was from New York City. I got to meet him when we were both guests of a sci-fi convention, and his personality in real life was exactly the same as in his cameos.
“We like them all in their own way” That’s how one should approach the MCU movies. It’s part of huge tapestry, all elements woven together to tell a larger story
we totally get that!
Yes, and this larger story is called the infinity saga.
Costume Is A Bit Much." "Out Of The Two Of Us, Which Can Actually Fly?" "Trust My Rage." "Your Brother Isn't Coming, Is He?" "I Didn't Do It For Him."
i like “do you even know what these things do?” …me either 😂 or when jane says “we kinda committed treason” lol
"It's as if they resent being imprisoned." 🙂@@TheOctobersReact
@OldRoy omg yes i forgot about this one ! the best this one wins
I love this movie so much the VFX and CGI in this movie is amazing the acting of each actor and actresses is amazing and the fight scenes in this movie are 🤩🤩🤩
yeah, to be honest we couldn’t figure it out either !
This movie is pivotal in the MCU. This movie has a lot of relevance to what happens later.
we liked it! can’t wait with that being said !
We proceeded to arrest the people who called us."
17:15-17:30 Odin had forbidden Loki from seeing Frigga (mother).
Just let folks watch a movie without showering them with what u don't like
we are different people, we never like what the others like anyways lol
THIS Movie reminds me of Iron Man 2. I don't understand why people don't like this.
“Ida just threw a foldable chair in there” lol
22:08 I LOVE how the Dark Elves just stand there
I'm really enjoying both of your reactions to MCU!!!
thank you so much! thanks for watching !
Cheers!
thank you for being so kind and thanks for explaining Loki and friggas relationship!!
@@TheOctobersReact Absolutely! :)
Nice haircut buddy!👍🏽
i appreciate that 😁
The hammer (Mjolnir) follows where Thor is, so when it 'no-clipped' back to Earth & set off to space it was about to travel towards the planet Thor & Malekith were fighting!
A Friend of Mine asked the same question about Loki, about his Powers of Illusion, and it's certainly implied here that He was trained by Frigga, as Her own Powers looked so similar to His.
thanks so much we appreciate you
Glad to hear you liked it, cause it’s all uphill from here. Thor 3 is by far the best Thor film
nice can’t wait
Yeah, Thor Ragnarok is low-key goated
I think it’s less about how bad this movie is and more about how good the others are. Also, I’ll reiterate, people who say you’ll love a character in the future are spoiling the McU for you. I’d recommend mods. Great reaction
yes i think you’re about right & thanks for watching ❤️
"Is that an elevator?"
Nope. It's an "Elfevator."
That Loki is slick, slippery, a bit greasy and slightly weaselly.
Very funny.
love the Elfevator!!
Frigga was a witch so she practices magic and taught loki.
I’m so glad y’all agree with me and ended up liking The Dark World. For the longest time, this film has received so much unnecessary hate for simply being a better version of Thor 1 in every way. While it’s nowhere near the best MCU film, it’s absolutely far from the worst.
agreed! so far atleast lol can’t speak for the whole thing
That shot you only see her from behind and it was actually Chris Hemsworth's wife in that particular shot.
oh wow that’s pretty awesome and a good fun fact!
I didn't know that was chris wife
This movie isn't my favorite, but it's still THORRR-IFICCC 😂 Digging the fresh haircut by the way brotha, looking good 🙏🏻
appreciate you and yes very much thor-ifific!
Fun Fact: The Incredible Hulk and Thor: The Dark World have the shortest run times out of all the MCU movies with the runtime of 1 hour and 52 minutes.
Looking back at it, yes you're absolutely right!
Excited for the next two reaction for me I think they’re the best of phase 2
RIP Ray Stevenson and Stan Lee.
Later.
oh but it did! so so good
This is one of my favorites! I don't know why people say it isn't good. The character development, Loki, the cool effects of the convergence on the fight at Greenwich, Darcy, the introduction of the third Infinity Stone (and in my opinion the most interesting one, although Malekith doesn't exactly use it creatively) . . . what's not to love?
can’t agree more!
ONLY ONE MORE MOVIE UNTIL GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY😁😁😁😁😁
oh my i don’t even know what to think of that one, bc i just know about a raccoon that is on a space ship so excited to see how that comes into play

Mrs O has def developed a soft spot for him. maybe we do like him okay!
Dr selvig goin coo coo makes sense and is realistic considering he had a god messing with his head with the scepter in avengers

You might be seeing him again, but I will neither confirm nor deny that LOL!
thanks for the fun comment and lol we will keep him in mind! thanks for watching !!
I really enjoyed your reaction as well this movie 😊😊😊. I don't understand why this movie get unnecessary hate 🤷🤷🤷
thanks so much for watching !
Winter Soldier is a favorite of many, you will see why. (If you liked Thor 2 when lots say it was the worst, then everything else will be super spectacular! I didn't think it was so bad.)
Another fun fact the reason why Loki turn into Captain America was because Captain America the Winter soldier was the next movie coming out
wow i never thought of that. that’s a good way to tell us it was next!
I really love this movie I don't know why it got so much hate 🤷🤷🤷 and love your MCU movie reaction 😊😊😊
it was pretty dang good! not sure why it got so much hate either !
Maybe you can get a friend to tell you which comments to skip for now.
yeah you’re probably right!
The Dark Elves employ Black Hole grenades which implode sucking all matter organic or inorganic into a micro singularity. Warhammer 40k has a similar item called a Vortex grenade which has similar effects. 😮
I think the reason this movie gets so much hate is that it was a bit too dark in its subject matter. The death of Frigga seemed pretty senseless. Yes, it gave Loki a reason to join forces with Thor, so I understand from a plot point why they did it. But it seems short sighted in the long term. 😢
yes it did seem smaller than it shouda been! RIP frigga ❤️
The death of Frigga was not senseless. She wouldn't tell Malekith what he wanted and he doesn't care about the life of Asgardians. It wouldn't make any sense for him to keep her alive.
“When I think of super hero movies, I didn’t think it would take place in New York” 😳
Superhero movies STARTED in New York….Superman…Batman….Spiderman, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Punisher, etc…
Sometimes you just say things that make zero sense.
When he’s not actually there, you can fall through him (Thor tried to tackle Loki in Avengers and Thor went into the cage designed for Hulk) yet in this movie, Thor is physically holding Loki and it’s still not Loki 🤷♂️
it can kinda be confusing tbh idk, you are right tho i guess that’s what makes it confusing to know when he’s there or not
I miss the floppy mop of hair. Us bald guys have to live vicariously through you :)

Loki saved Jane… on reflex. You missed that. So much of Loki’s thing is posturing. You’ll see.
man i thought it was bc genuinely he likes thor and he did it for him ☹️
So, you are right that The Incredible Hulk and this movie are considered the worst movies in the first three phases of the MCU... but honestly what that really means is that they are the floor. I agree with you, they are a fun watch and I was happy I saw them and don't mind watching again... but they are the ones I like least in that group. It speaks more of the quality of the others than it does about these being bad.
makes perfect sense
Great reaction!! Keep it up guys???
thank you!!
i surprised with your new haircut😮
yeah it was supposed to be a trim but he came out like this lol!
Overall a fun watch (even better in the second viewing if you come back to it) but it just doesn't stand up to most of the others.
we appreciate you 😃
Here’s some advice: Remember the Infinity Stones! They are EXTREMELY important!
remembering now !
I’m a huge marvel guy and the next calf is in the top 10 but not close to the best but it’s very good. Civil war is the best captain movie, infinity war and endgame are the best
oh my can’t wait! if they get better, that’d be crazy!
@@TheOctobersReact I’m not spoiling anything but try to keep track of the infinity stones and where they are because they are what this saga is about until endgame.
1 tesseract Aka Space town is on Asgard now
2. The reality stone aka eather you just saw.
Loki’s septer on earth contains one you probably just saw that’s the mind stone
The next movie is top 4 MCU all-time great. Hold on to your seats!
The Aether and the Tesseract (the cube) are both Infinity Stones per the Collector's speech. And he has one (the Aether), five to go. That's all I have to say about that. As for the Hulk? What Hulk?!? Nothing to see there, move along... ;o)
ahhh the suspense is killing us!
48:06 Oh the plot thickens
See you in the next one :)
can't wait! lets goooo!
Honestly I personally like this movie. So the Aether is one of the 6 Infinity Stones which you will learn about more in the guardians of the galaxy movie. Also the tesseract and loki's scepter are/have Infinity Stones as well.
oh wow nice can’t wait to get into those
Nice Haircut! You prolly feel a pound lighter

Can say you don't like Loki but the fact your first instinct was worry when was getting sucked up and the smile when he was revealed impersonating Odin speaks more then any words you can say lol
19:50 never gonna unsee those nostrils
Let’s face it: there is no bad MCU movie or tv show, just worse productions in comparison to each other. Even the worst has some beautiful moments that are used to build the world in the future.
