A happy belated father's day to all of the dads that had to endure puffy ankles, starvation from lack of sandwiches, and summer sweats while mom was doing her whole "Push push push" thing. Such brave souls. 😂
Father’s Day is on a completely different day for us in the Southern Hemisphere like Australia and NZ, as to the American Father’s Day, ours isn’t until September… so wishing a happy Father’s Day to all these hard poor done by dads may be on the late side for the Americans but super early side for us!
I can’t imagine what they had to endure May God Bless them all

@@Leon.bro73 it was father's Day here in the UK too. I'm in Scotland. I got left with both kids while she went shopping so it really was a day of being a father 😅
Legitimately eternally grateful for my husband who endured physical and verbal abuse while I was in transition. Not to mention the long hours, and having to do a million hip squeezes during labor. I would be an awful support person, but there was never a complaint from him. All jokes aside, partners have to put up with a lot, and it's not an easy job. ❤
Edited to clarify: When I say abuse, I mean I for sure squeezed his hands and I think grabbed his hair at one point, and I was very short with him definitely shouted at some point. He took it very well!

I concur.
True about that abuse. I was abusive to my husband after the birth. The hormones, the drugs, the stitches, the exhaustion, etc. I took it all out on him at the hospital and he endured it all. Bless him.
My aunt is an incredibly sweet woman who’s never said a bad word about a person in her life, and never let a foul word slip past her lips …
Except when she had her first child.
As my uncle was helping her into the car, all ~7 year old me heard was “YOU SON OF A &$@? I HATE YOU! OH GODDDDDD @!$?ING $€?# -“
And so on and so forth. I imagine it continued that way for some time.
When they returned home with their daughter, my aunt was asleep and my uncle was pale and completely mute. I was too afraid to say anything and just went to my room.
Seven year old me decided babies were scary.
How to Mum must not have been filming this one. Otherwise I'd think she'd be compelled to throw something at you several times. 😂

My husband was more stressed with our last baby than I was. Mind you, the midwife didn't make it in time so he had to catch the baby on his own so I think thats justified.
I had a home water birth that started at 10:30 PM, I told my husband to go upstairs and sleep so that he could take care of our 2 year old the following day, if the baby was going to come. My labor progressed so fast, I couldn't get upstairs during contractions to ask for help. So, between contractions, I prepared the postpartum supplies, filled my birth tub, and unlocked the door for my midwife. The baby was born at 3:30 AM, the midwives made it just 30 minutes before the baby was born to catch and clean up. I let my husband sleep until 5AM, and my midwife went upstairs to tell him that his daughter was here. Best birth ever! I guess I preferred to labor alone.

Yeah. My husband's line is that while I was in labor he had a hang nail that "really hurt." Poor baby.
I remember my mum telling me that after I was born the midwife had to offer my dad a glass of water because he had gone grey LMAO

This is hilarious 😂 😃 😄. I m working in the labour room as a doctor for 20 years ,never thought about fathers who are standing long hours ...and their grievances
Best line I ever heard regarding childbirth was "Childbirth is a miracle of nature, a wonderous event of bringing new life into the world and a precious moment between mother and child... It is not, however, a spectator sport.
It was never meant to be. Mad these days to have fathers at the birth.

Everyone complains about child birth. But no one gives dad enough praise he obviously has it the most difficult. Poor guy was hungry and tired.

Man, when my wife gave birth, she received complimentary meals any time of day for three days. Me? Not a bite. Ridiculous, man. Fathers have it so rough when it comes to childbirth.
That's messed up, they fed my husband too at my hospital with our 2nd baby.. but with our first baby with a midwife center, my husband was too nervous to eat and no one offered and he ended up passing out 😬 luckily he came to and got fed and was back in it to support and help catch our baby ❤️

There's a special nurse assigned to keep an eye on the dad in the delivery room in case he faints, you know... (either from dizzyness, dehydration, the shock and horror from accidentally looking at what's going on down there).... You know, whatever the case may be. 😄

All jokes aside, as a mother that went through emergency C-section once, I wish your wife a swift recovery. She is in a lot of pain and will need you a lot! I'm sure you'll be there for her. 😊 And you can go commiserate with my husband, he knows what you're going through. 😆

36 hours no food, no sleep, 1 parking ticket and my wife almost bleed to death... but we got an awesome daughter and we are trying to make number 2 😅
First kid took 52 hours. No seats, no beds. Just me standing around doing fuck all.
The births of my kids were pretty quick so that my husband wouldn't suffer too long... but he fished my poo out of the birthing tub 🤦🏻♀️🤣

It's so painful to watch that I can't wrap my head around why people repeat it. Yeah, I get it the first time. Unknown waters right, but the second time as a man I wouldn't do it. There must be some hormonal thing that erases all that horror that comes with it to want to do it again.
Yeah I forget what it's called but there actually is some sort of biological phenomenon that makes women forget how painful childbirth actually is
@@claireelizabeth9431 I also think that mums don´t get to see as much as a father (if he decides to look). It depends on the position, but more often I´d say you just see people´s faces / ceiling or have your eyes closed in the agony. That helps too I guess.

So true, but real life will teach dads they will not be heard.
When my son was to be born, i was right next to her and i said "c'mon, give it a push. But she didn't. She wanted to hold him inside, i initially wanted that too, since he was about seven weeks early. But apparently, that was not an option.
So after about 15 minutes, there he was and brought straight to the incubator room. Rather traumatic experience. But up to his adolescence, a continuous source of joy and fun.

When I told my husband it was time to go to the hospital he asked if he had time to jump in the hot tub first. I said “No!” 45 minutes later our daughter was born.
That's why I never got kids!
Dads go through a lot.

When I was born, dads had to stay outside the delivery room. That prevented a lot of pain. ;)
