- This is how I replaced the drive belt on my Raytheon ST1000 tiller pilot. The same process is used for the ST2000. I have had to replace the drive belt 3 times in 9 years. Raytheon do not sel the drive belt by its self. You have to buy the whole gearbox kit. I have found a supplier for the drive belt and can get them!!!
Thank you very much for the description video. I habe done it and it works!
Hi Julian. Not on topic but you seem someone that would know. The layout of my little trailer sailer won’t allow Raymarine’s specified distance of 589mm from the tiller pin to the mounting socket - Dimension A of the tiller pilot. I have 545mm. Would this work ok?
Good instructions, just got a new one but you never know..
Great instructional video but did you really have one that lasted 9 years, that is a bit hard to believe mate. and use loctite , i actually had a motor fall off! and loose screws in the front of the 2 long guide rods!
Very informational video. My autopilot is set up to operate on the port side, can you tell me how to program it so I can mount it on the starboard side where the electrical outlet is? Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the great instructional video. On my pilot, the belts are OK, but the thrust washer on the output of the gearbox has failed, due to the motor going into over torque control a few times. I have tried Aquatronics, (in Aus) but need to buy the whole gearbox at $416. Any suggestions for a supplier or make own from fibre washer??
thanks for your video! do you have any picture of circuit board? My st1000+ burnt some of its components last week and I cannot find any service manual. thanks!
Hi Julian, I'm looking to buy a broken ST1000+ to redesign the circuitry for a research project. If you can't fix your autopilot, any chance I could buy it from you?
It doesn't matter to me if the electronics are working or not, I'm only interested in the mechanics, mount and so on. I'll be building my own electronics in it.
