However, you are partly right about the hail - the fuselage suffered some hail damage. Also, the No. 2 engine was damaged by overheating.

If there's a hall of fame for pilots, these pilots must get a place in it, I think handling such situations depending on your piloting skills is phenomenal, Lord if your hand had any part in it thank you for helping save all those crew members and passengers.

When I was younger, I always thought an emergency landing in the water would be preferable to crash landing on the ground. It didn’t occur to me that the water could break up the plane. I wonder if they ever thought about having humongous inflatables that could keep the plane on the surface once it’s in the water… like nasa used when astronauts landed in the sea.
I’ve always wondered the same thing! But I was more afraid of water landings because of, wait for it, sharks. 🤣 (I know, sharks would be the least of the probs, considering….) So have to laugh at myself.

I’m from the UK, the scariest thing we have coming from the sky is pigeon poop 😁

After watching loads of plane crashes, it makes me wonder how much inexperienced pilots are flying out there. But after watched these emergency landings like these, they stop me from loosing hope.
Garuda landing on the java river has more difficulties in certain pov. Narrow, more curve, and it was landed between 2 bridges.. 1 didnt make it, 60 saves
Al Haynes is at the top of my list, landing a plane with NO hydraulics, with 2/3 of souls on board surviving. And it wasn't the first time he'd landed a and with no hydraulics, it was the SECOND!!

I have been in flights number of times.... turbulences are scary... I remember my flight from New delhi to Indore , as we were about to approach airport it started getting windy and mild showers.... it was a scary experience as there was sever turbulence but hats off to the Pilots who made it safely and everyone in the flight felt redeemed!!!
