He talked about his interactions with ex-SNOC chairman Tan Chuan Jin and the double standards involved. He also spoke about the challenges facing local sports, his first year as a married man and his plans for the future. He doesn’t hold back, so it gets pretty spicy.

I don't know the person personally. From this and previous podcast, he appears to me as a straight talker, a matter of fact fellow. And I can imagine just being that can be quite abrasive and off putting to some people.
What I am more amazed is that he currently holds ALL of singapore's distance running records (5,10, 15, 20, HM and FM)..... and yet not selected.... SG sports really have HIGH STANDARDS (sometimes).

Personally, if I was an athlete, I will just forget about representating the country of my birth. The biggest snub will be
1) Continue winning in other events.
2) Change nationalities i.e. immigrate and then win against the athletes of your birth country.

This Man is just being himself. End of the day, he has the last laugh. Don't bring politic into sports. Soh deserved our respect.
SRY didn't just use the f word right now in this podcast, he even emphasized the f syntax in kind with a cursory exclamation! It's not your normal f in light hearted conversations between joking friends.
I listened to it at least 5-6 times rewinding and safe to say it was filled with rancor and venom of a king cobra's! His f was intended to spite and sting type and snoc would feel vindicated they banned him in retrospect after seeing this video that happened after the fact.
Also we tend to overly focus on the TCJ sexual wrongdoing but nobody put the spotlight on whether SRY had committed any similar things himself? He had knew quite a number of women over many years and was discovered by a few PIs to be in a lot of compromising one-on-one situations with them. So he has no right to raise his voice at TCJ at 0:19 he said '3 years' with a strong vengeance. We can also raise at him and say the same.
I have seen the photos of what you are talking about so I doubt SRY could resist the temptation. Young ppl nowadays even dare to do PDA in public open space so what's there to hide between SRY and his bevy of girls?
Soh Rui Yong's point at 27:32 is extremely true, If you are choosing athletes based off of how well they are able to schmooze the selectors, you are not choosing the athletes who are the best performing ones, you are choosing the athletes whom you like. SNOC needs to take note of this

If the current SNOC is still the same board members minus TCJ, I still feel a no confidence vote is needed for this the board. SRY holds almost all national records for distance running and yet he was denied to represent Singapore base on petty issues.
On the surface yes he holds all national records but underneath it he has not done it through fair and honest means. That's why denied.

I attended an event in HK where guest of honor was TCJ. After 3 mins hearing him speaking while he was mingling with guests, I walked away and left the event. A lot of red flags about this guy. Didn’t surprise me at all when his shits hit the fence. But regretfully such a petty person hampered a talented athlete and Singapore’s chances on world stage.
He was quite good at hiding his real self from the public. Haha.😂

Soh is an extremely polemic and mentally irrational figure. Nobody in their right mental frame of mind prioritizes their beliefs over the general harmony and cohesiveness of cooperative society if these beliefs do not concern life-and-death, such as the death penalty for drug trafficking.
Soh believes he SHOULD BE chosen to represent Singapore at the games but this belief does not hold any threat to his safety and security if he weren't chosen. He won't die not representing Singapore. On the other hand, if M Ravi dun fight for death row drug traffickers who might be wrongly prosecuted by the court, they all get hanged and lose their lives. Consequently, it's not mentally irrational and unsound for M Ravi to prioritize his human rights beliefs about drug mules and traffickers over the general harmony and cohesiveness of society if this belief could save just 1 more life. Life is sacrosanct, representing Singapore is also sacrosanct but nothing compared to a human LIFE!
While M Ravi's beliefs doesn't benefit him or his ego and in fact sacrifice lots of mental and physical pain and suffering due to being ostracized and targeted by Singapore government, Soh's beliefs that he should represent Singapore does in fact benefit his ego greatly because he derives lots of physical mental pleasure and satisfaction from doing so. Soaking in the games, meeting and mingling new athletes, experiencing new cultures and food, going for sight-seeing and touring of the games city, having all these paid for free by SNOC etc. M Ravi was stripped of his title and jailed for fighting not for his own justice but those of the lowest caste of humans in Singapore-----death row drug traffickers.
It's no wonder M Ravi won the international accolade of human rights in Paris recently for his self-less altruistic dedication to justice while Soh is completely shamed for his self-interested agendas and ulterior motives all based on maximizing the greatest amount of pleasure and satisfaction for himself and nobody else.

Actually, soh had been the only singaporean athlete in history who joked 'come bro threesome'. I'm friends with quite a number of singapore athletes from other sports including the para sports, but I have never seen any comment at the level of depravity as soh's. The fact that he could joke 'come bro threesome' is not an afterthought event like he claims. On the contrary you actually need much depravity in order to subconsciously choose in your mind to want to joke like that? With such depravity, that's why his conduct is unbecoming of a national athlete and fulfilled the criteria of expulsion?
And since soh is that depraved in matters of sex subconsciously in how he speaks, it has to inevitably also reflect the same in how he acts. for instance when he interacts with a girl in the past he is bound to deprave their relationship with sexual indiscretion too just like tan chuan jin. it's very reasonable for him to act in consistency with his depraved values since everything is subconscious and animalistic instinct without much cognitive control?

His first gf Charmaine worked at a ballet school and they met at an after-race road show if I'm not wrong. A little more than one month later he was already filming himself spending the night in a hotel (marina bay sands) with her. For the next 7 months he spend more hotel dollars and comfy nights with her all over the world. He was supposedly high on drugs while doing all these sexual transgression. Pity the ballet girl, poor thing.
His 2nd gf is more of a mystery but according to what I've learnt he would later travel the world in hotels with her as well.
3rd gf is a more well known athlete called Vanessa. Word has it they she was so guilty of her romantic relationship with SRY she split with him after less than a year.
4th gf is his current wife Nantacha. Met at a club on a dance floor, sexually explosive to say the least. Almost immediately dated and then moved into the same apartment together. Sexual intimacy is a given under such scenarios given both SRY and Nantacha are modern young people with liberal beliefs. The former was an SAF government scholar and rise up the ranks to become general in the army and later selected by Lee Hsien Loong to be minister and mp. SRY is nowhere close to such achievement. But, if you really want to talk about medal winners, neither Shanti nor Schooling was as obnoxious as SRY. You can be a great athlete and a decent person at the same time. They aren't mutually exclusive. That said, I do agree that it shouldn't be disqualifying. Personally I would be ashamed to have him represent us on a global stage, but I do recognise it's a personal preference. SNOC should be more accountable.
