    I think the main draw to this meal service is the price! No recipe cards helps to bring cost down

    I got marley spoon which is the premium option and the peppers were less than fresh and avocado rock hard. But the whole point of dinnerly is that it is cheap so they save money by not sending recipie cards and bagging it up nicely. So I’d be ok with that aspect

    Home Chef is great quality, but they don't have a huge selection and they repeat a lot week to week. I haven't tried Dinnerly yet, but I'm going too. It doesn't bother me to separate my box out. I also don't mind coming up with the extras. I found that I added to Home Chef too. So no biggie there as I keep lots of extras at home. I like meal kits because I don't have to plan meals. I love to cook, hate to plan!!!

    I actually really like Dinnerly. I like it because of the cost (super reasonable), lots of choices, yummy foods - the recipes do taste really good, All of the recipes are about 5-6 ingredients. You can print out the recipe cards. What I enjoy about Dinnerly is having food come to me so I really don't have to plan out 3 meals per week. I would also say that the kit for 2 people is plenty of food. There are definitely corners that are cut because of the cost... however... I do like having easy yummy recipes to make 3 nights per week. The meals take about 30 minutes and aren't overly complicated.
    I have used Hello Fresh in the past and although it was very tasty it was much too fancy/complicated for me to make after working a long day. Another thing I have been doing lately to help with cooking is going to the grocery stores meat department and getting 3 dinners of prepped foods (chicken kabobs, beef and veggie fajitas, chicken tenders, meatloaf, burgers). This is helpful because the meal is pretty much already prepped for you and there is no thought in figuring out what you need to make. I hate not knowing what to make for dinner and I tend to run out of quick and simple dinner ideas quickly.
    Dinnerly does let you choose what you are going to order for the week... several weeks in advance. You'll have access to the entire recipes and ingredients you'll need to have at home/what they are sending.
    Yes, if they had pictures with the steps that would be very helpful. I'll have to try Home Chef at some point!

    Thank you for sharing this video! I honestly would like to consider doing dinnerly since it is the cheapest meal kit they have on the market. My pharmacist is also using dinnerly but she did not tell me the pros and cons for the meal kit. I think it is cheap because the recipe card is not included. I recently ordered Martha Stewart, I am only willing to try it the first time and see how it will turn out.

    a lot of this packaging is to cut down on costs. they expect us to not be idiots and to be able to figure it out. A lot of people meal plan and shop for their ingredients themselves, and don't put them in cute little bags or boxes to make sure they have everything in one place. And as for the milk and butter stuff, those are STAPLES literally anyone has that kind of stuff in their pantry or fridge already. That's not an issue. You literally have the expectation of a personal chef with these meal services and that's not what they are. You are just too high maintenance for things like this. Just go to Whole Foods, and make your dinner

    • @ShannonAndersen
      @ShannonAndersen  3 года назад +14

      haha okay well while I appreciate your input, there are many meal services that DO sort things out for you and provide milk and butter because contrary to your statement, many people DONT keep those things on hand. My expectation that fairly pricey meal services include everything needed is based on my experience with other meal services that do just that. Especially for the cost. So it's not unrealistic, it's not what Dinnerly does. Not sure if you like, work there or something to feel so defensive but it just didn't work out for me & that's okay! they can't please everyone! thanks for watching!
