How did you remove the filter in reservoir, mine seems impossible to remove.

Does your reservoir have a screen filter in it? Mine doesn't. Also does your car have to be on to pump the brakes and drain the fluid through a hose into a bottle? I Saw a video of a gen 2 with the car off... Thanks

Another way. Open the bleeder valve, then the master cylinder res, while creating a seal with your hand, place your mouth over the res and blow the fluid out of the bleeder valve. 😊

Obviously, we can see how it worked for you.

Do I have to push the pedal brake, if I use the tool suction.

I always do both. We were testing the pump but there are still too many variables for air in the lines. Stepping on the pedal is my preference if I had to pick one. Maybe one of the mechanics in our community can chime in?

Three pumps will do nothing. You have to pump until it gets hard. Air is compressible, but to get it out of the system, you have to build pressure to push it out. After most of air is gone, use pump through method with one way valve at the hose bleeder side. Big Thing! Toyotas don't like other fluids. Use only Toyota Dot-3, by Toyota. The Japanese and American engineers are a lot smarter than you, period. If it was designed certain way, it will only work certain way. Capish !!!! 💤

Good point. We did plenty pumping but that was cut to save time on the video. 5.1 was recommended my the manufacturer of the brakes and Toyota gave us the nod. If I remember correctly it was the weight and off-roading conditions that led us going past Dot-3. However dot-3 is great, is the recommendation from Toyota before they gave us the go ahead. Dot-3 is also recommended in the manual and would likely do a great job as well and possibly extend longevity. Thanks for clarifying. Thanks for watching.
