I’ve been following your channel for quite awhile now, as well as several others. Between the speed, the experimental workflow, and the unbelievable result, this is easily my favorite painting video on RUclips. You’re changing the whole hobby, man. Thank you for what you do.
>Experimental workflow Doesn't look experimental to me. Just different to what you have been shown by GW, vallejo and other paint manufactures that are trying to keep you in a box.
I have that silver, and that yellow ink, and it would NEVER have occurred to me to mix them to make such a beautiful gold. Marco, I learn so much from your videos!
the things you can do with an airbrush look like magic to me. I'm very happy that you continue to explain things "for someone who's watching the channel for the first time" because even as someone who's watched a lot, I still glean something new from your explanations on a new model.
I've been doing this kind of chromatic sketching for awhile, but your approach is more refined than mine; I'm definitely taking notes! Excellent stuff, as always.
I find it really helpful when I hear your airbrush. I am an auditory person (strange for someone who paints minis), and that helped me learn to better handle my airbrush. We each learn in different ways. Grazie mille Marco!
Imagination going wild now. Maybe do a Seraphon Army with this colour? Thanks for all your videos and making me come back to the hobby to try new things
I'm starting a seraphon army soon and Im hinking the same thing! I may substiute the Molotov paints for my Pro Acryl but this process looked like too much fun!
Your grasp of colour theory is incredible, just when I think I grasp it what you’re playing with, you throw out something new you’re experimenting with and blow my mind again. Favourite painter on RUclips by a WIDE margin. Keep it going man!
I love your enthusiasm as energy. I sometimes save your videos for when I feel a little down as I know they will cheer me up. Another fantastic paint job my friend l. Very inspiring.
Wow 😍 Damn, this is something awesome I'd love to see an Orruk maw crusha painted by you Really great ideas here, love how you use oil paints and the definition it gives to the final result. I'm definitely gonna try it
Absolutely an awesome video! Just pure magic how you went through the different steps and the resulting model in the end. I really loved this tutorial and especially your explanations on the color theory involved in the process.
dude what the fck.... This is better than most golden demon pieces ive seen. Fact that you painted this masterpiece in 5 hours blew my mind. I think you are best miniature painter in the world.
This is an amazing video with so many good tips and brilliant explanation, and a superb finish. This is great, thanks!!! One question though- how did you approach the base?
I'd like to commend the subtitles provided on this video. As someone with poor hearing, it's very helpful, especially for parsing non-native English speakers like Marco. I noticed many languages were provided, too. Thanks! The colour choices were also very informative, taking a very non-RGB approach.
My man! Like we use to say in Spain "mi más profundo respeto". Your work, the way you show the theory and the application of every technique you use... mate this is invaluable. Keep this coming please.
That looks fantastic, Marco! I'm compelled to order a big dragon model and really put my airbrush to the test. Also, I'll probably learn a bunch (screw up) because I've never attempted anything like that with my airbrush. Thanks!
just getting into mini painting and have a dragon with a beard i want to paint for my brother for Christmas and your video is the perfect tutorial for the model, thanks for putting this up! Earned a subscriber from me :D
i love how you build colors, this is a step i always rush (trying to get to my color the fastest way possible by applying directly what i want right away)
The initial oil layer/wipe down is very satisfyingly but the extra luminosity from cleaning the oil layer off the highlights is fantastic. Have you ever considered painting something more angular like a Battletech miniature?
09:00 The reason that the gold you mixed with Duraluminium and a gold yellow ink has a faint greenish tone, is because Duraluminium is not a neutral grey metallic paint, but one that has some blue in it. I have decanted my Vallejo metallic paints and can see which one has which tone (easy to tell after they have separated). Steel, Duraluminium and Silver all have this blueish tone, but in Steel it gets overpowered by the black. Chrome seems to be almost completely white, but still contains a very small amount of blue.

"Speed paint" - this magnificent madman proceeds to highlight every single scale with a brush :D
Truly wonderful work.
I have that silver, and that yellow ink, and it would NEVER have occurred to me to mix them to make such a beautiful gold. Marco, I learn so much from your videos!
just done it for some chaos knight armour trim and its magic!!!
Ive said it before and Im sure Ill say it again - you are THE number one mini painting teacher/thought leader on RUclips

I love how you effectively deploy different techniques when they are most suitable. Impressive results!

I love the shades that you achieved at the shoulder section.
Einfach der Wahnsinn, ich werde es ebenfalls versuchen so hinzubekommen 😁
Your combination of subtlety and boldness inspires me to try it myself.
Jesus man...this is your best work yet! Problem is, now I'm going to throw away all my dragons and start over.
The skill level and color understanding are revolving. Best in class.
I find it really helpful when I hear your airbrush. I am an auditory person (strange for someone who paints minis), and that helped me learn to better handle my airbrush. We each learn in different ways. Grazie mille Marco!
Love this concept of overlapping base tones and going back and forth with true the color wheel!
Great work as always with those oil paints, but that gold parts man... look incredible with such simple recipe! Definitely I have to try that.
Imagination going wild now. Maybe do a Seraphon Army with this colour? Thanks for all your videos and making me come back to the hobby to try new things
Exactly my thoughts
He does not paint entire armies
@@sareth90 Thats for me to do while using some of the teqhniques he show

@@TexanBadBoy30I think this year might have some new Seraphon models coming out right?

Marco's intuitive understanding of color is just amazing!
