You have to solve real cases that happen in this virtual world where everyone is alive going about their day. It's a game with endless possibilities and I can't get enough of it. Gotta say I'm really lovin' these "for youtube only" type of videos. As much as I love livestream interactions, the constantly scrolling comments in the corner can be a bit distracting at times. This is such a breath of fresh air, would love to see more!

I'm kinda on the fence about the lack of visible chat. I really wish there was an option for it, maybe as some sort of second stream overlay. Has anyone built a plugin that transcribes Twitch chat into closed captions/subtitles?

When the guy ran out after talking with insym and the cop who was FOR SOME REASON ALREADY IN THERE, also ran out and shot the guy I lost my mind. That was hysterical

From what I understand about the murder weapon for the second case was that you scanned both a wound and what killed her. If you look back on the footage you see that one of the two files you got from scanning her said she was killed by the razor even though she was also shot. It's a bit confusing but I think that's what happened.

2:05:19 I believe what had happened was the officer who shot Taylor dropped his bullet casings inside the house and that is why you mistakenly thought that the murder weapon was a gun but it was the Razor all along.
1:33:53 it said bullet wound.. but at 1:33:59 it says slashed but he didn't register it in his brain because of the bullet wound
oh the victim was definitely shot, it just wasn't the fatal wound! as the examination indicated (but he skimmed that and missed it)

As a hobby "game dev" this game is a piece of art and a showcase of some real ingenuity and I would love to see more of it!
I'm in kind of the same way, but I don't do any development of my own. More of the "wanted to be a game dev in high school and got in deep before realizing how the industry was, so now I'm wired to think about game design".
You should also look at Dwarf Fortress. This and DF both have really in-depth history generation. If I had to guess, it's about carefully creating a series of simple systems like city/building layout, people's work/relationships, and then stringing them all together until it seems organic.
@@Boredom_Incarnate I know about Dwarf Fortress and adore all it's systems, I just wish the game part wasnt made so badly and I could experience all these systems without having to look through 20 blocks of text that I have to find myself so I couldn't get myself to play it for more than few hours.
@@paxon57 For what it's worth, it's one of those "learn a few things each run" kind of game. I keep the wiki open for pages like the stone guide but otherwise I barely need to look at it anymore.
You'll also want a 3rd party program called Dwarf Therapist which makes a really nice UI for dealing with things like labor and professions etc.
@paxon57 I see that's an old comment so hopefully you don't mind me necro'ing, just came to say don't sell yourself short by putting "dev" in quotes.
The wall that is "game development" is tackled by you building stair by stair. Each time you learn something new it's a new stair step up what used to be a daunting wall. Hopefully you're enjoying it if you're still at it, hopefully you found something you did enjoy if you found it wasn't for you.

I'm not at it recently due to life, work and university. I've been planning and learning stuff recently to start one serious project soon.
Which is also a reason why I used quotes :D So far I've been playing around and experimenting with random stuff, starting new projects over and over again. I will call myself a game dev without quotes when there is something that resembles an actual game in the works :p

The sheer amount of depth in this. It already looks like you can go your own way/play how you like. Could just as easily play this game as a burglar/thief simulator. I'm intrigued to see where this'll go since it's still in early access.

Love that they are following Cloudpunks charming artstyle as well as the similiar ambience with the music and environmental sounds!

Also a quick tip: You can sabotage cameras by going under them, and looking at the camera from below (Requires lock picks).
This should give you the option to "Sabotage" the camera while beneath them.
This game is so immersive, omg, absolutely amazing ❤❤ Adore the concept of whole city being alive and paths intertwined between every citizen. I wonder how many work devs put into all of these generations and how those work in relation to each other, truly marvelous concept~
Also it allows to embrace inner sus, giving ability to vent through the whole building, love it XDD Can't wait for new episodes! ✨

edit: seems like in the second case, she was shot and slashed, you accidently opened something that said that she had been slashed with a razor as well when you were in sage's workplace when it was lagging a lot. so it was probably either one would've been right. brutal!!
I love how every time he said “it might have just generated weirdly” or “it’s in early access there could br some issues with the random cases” it was almost always him misunderstanding things and the game was working fine lmao

Imagine in due time they add a co-op mode where you can work in a duo to solve the cases. I think that’s a super cool concept.
I came back to these videos to get the seed for the world! Very first murder case solved was the landlord murdering the tenant the unit directly below their own and writing “(victims initials) PAID” 😅

I really enjoyed this, it was interesting and funny! The second case where the guy got shot by the police was hilarious!
Loved this, although i was screaming inside me when you didn’t notice the clue while inspecting the second wictim stated she got slashed to death with a bladed weapon that was the razor blade on the ground with the H fingerprint, but you were too focused in the gunshot wound XD

Casings usually don’t get a lot of prints as sweat and oils that make the print get evaporated when bullet is fired. Tho it’s not a rule. Bullet can preserve prints if it malfunctioned and was ejected without firing tho!

The minecraft esk type design is awesome in this game but the actual mechanics and the amount of coding in the background is utterly incredible.

This game is an example of a second person perspective, just being a witness to the world, mainly Not being the main character in a single player game

After my first case I got a side job for recovering a stolen necklace. The thief turned out to be the murder victim's partner. My headcanon for it was that they fell on hard times after their partner died and were desperate for money, so I decided not to share their name to the necklace's owner. sadge times

Craziest thing happened. Much like your situation when you went to the crime scene and the roommate was there, I had a cop run to the door beside me and rush in. Another cop had already spawned in there and he shot and killed him! So a dead cop and the roommate cowering in the corner as the cop who shot ran off! I searched him and took his key (for future looting) and as I questioned the roommate, the cop got up and leaned on the wall, surveying the area!?!?!

I wish all citizens had pre established fingerprint types. Currently as you find fingerprints the system assigns the citizen to that fingerprint type based on the number of fingerprints you've already discovered.
I'd rather every citizen be issued a 3 character fingerprint type at the start so when you find your first fingerprint it says whatever is associated to that citizen, like DYB or ZRA, etc. Not only would it give fingerprints more of a unique feel but it allows for a government fingerprint database for previous offenders or government employees
