@@stanislavzoldak2198 I guess she would have to do the lifting of bed after letting the old man off of it first. I love grandpa Ketil’s talk with Snake. He even peeped that Snake’s sword wasn’t Nordic or even native to the area, and basically questioned him living a violent life for borrowed land. He implied that everyone ends up in this farm for a reason, and I’m sure he was once a slave himself.
The other thing to add about the bed theory is the Arnheid said the old master helped hide Gardar. So who lifted the bed, a pregnant woman or an old man who can’t walk lol
Let’s take a moment of silence to the people that dropped the series after Thorfinn's " no more violence " scene in ep 9. They really thought the author not gonna challenge Thorfinn’s beliefs and put him in a tough situations lmaoo
For those who are interested in reading along with the manga, this episode adapted all of chapters 84 and 85. An interesting thing to note, Arnheid’s conversation with Thorfinn and Einar about Gardar (when she was ruminating on why she chose to free Gardar) has been changed somewhat compared to the manga. Instead of talking about how Gardar’s demeanor had changed and how the both of them have suffered so much under slavery, this was what Arnheid said in the manga instead (after Einar asked about why she didn’t go with her original plan to do nothing for the sake of her unborn child): “EVEN I…DON'T KNOW WHY I DID IT. I personally feel that Arnheid’s dialogue in the manga was more engaging and interesting, but maybe the people in charge of the anime were worried that Arnheid’s original manga dialogue made her came across as too self-depricating or something like that? I dunno, but I am curious what other people think about the change in her lines. Also Sverkel’s conversation with Snake was expanded on by a couple of lines compared to the manga. Specifically Sverkel noting that Snake’s sword is of a foreign make and the implication that Snake didn’t originate from North and/or Western Europe. Many manga fans have speculated that Snake may have come South-Eastern Europe, specifically the Byzantine Empire (also known as the Eastern Roman Empire), during the reign of Basil II. And seems the anime has added a couple of lines supporting that notion.
I agree with you, this might be a hot take but I'm not really a fan of all these changes in dialouge that the anime has been doing. It takes away from the original source, even if it was approved by Yukimura himself. Maybe the subtitles will be changed when the official blu-ray of season 2 comes out.
@@yennox5338 Well, with Einar actually choking Thorfinn for a moment, I can understand the logic behind that change since they didn't want Einar to so easily warm up to Thorfinn and make the building of their friendship take a little more time. With this though, other than maybe be worried about Arnheid sounding too self-deprecating (though I think most manga readers understood Arnheid was being unfairly harsh on herself), the anime dialogue just had less meaningful substance and depth to it (while still being delivered by an amazing performance).
