I don't think they need to be confiding grievances about the marriage to the emotional affair partner for it ton be an affair. Is emotional cheating is grounds for divorce? I will share a little personal info for the sake of anyone feeling my pain (which is what leads us to this kind of content). I am a male, almost 31, and met my wife just before I turned 19. She is only a matter of weeks younger. Intense chemistry due to matching childhood traumas lead to alarmingly fast bonding and commitment. Sex on date #2, name tattoos on date #8, engagement at 6 months, married right at 1 year, child #1 before our 3rd year, child #2 almost exactly one year after that. Passive-agressive behavior on her part was my red flag. I reminded her of her father and she had a lot of inner anger that could not be directly communicated to him. Shortly after moving in together, I sensed something was off (or maybe I just am suspicious for no reason). She had been interacting sexually with a prior male interest digitally and over the phone. I was betrayed. I think the hard truth to accept is that I was afraid to place a boundary and enforce it because I was afraid of losing our seemingly emotionally connected, intimate relationship. Pain stops when a video like this can give clarity on what is really going on. Now I am finally confident enough to get a divorce, free us from the shared misery, and live for once. I had been wanting to (and actually doing) hurt myself since the betrayal came only after I felt situationally trapped. I knew from the beginning when my husband that's had emotional affairs... His behavior always changed, lock his cell phone, errassing history on computer, changing the language in his conversations as English is not his first, using phone especially during important conversations, picking fights to sleep in another bed, taking his phone to shower, lying about stupid things that didn't matter, recording names in his phone or chat pages but conversations did not match, men don't send men menes of flowers and hearts, telling me about friends doing what he was... I asked her why is the secret factor then?... why she never meets him with us or visits our house and why she meets him outside when i asked her that i wanted to see her phone.. she grasped it as if unwillng.. then i slapped her on her cheek even tighter.. which she too took it admitting if it hurts me so much she will never ever keep in touch with my husband (let me remind u her relation with my husband is since she was 15/16 that is a total of almost 35/36 years now that is more than my 28 years of marriage.. she is 3 years younger to me and 6 years younger to my husband)... then she deleted his cell no. from her phone all social media acc of him promising ..etc.. my husband too here at home broke his entire fone in front of me to come out of this.

I am a male, almost 31, and met my wife just before I turned 19. She is only a matter of weeks younger. Intense chemistry due to matching childhood traumas lead to alarmingly fast bonding and commitment. Sex on date #2, name tattoos on date #8, engagement at 6 months, married right at 1 year, child #1 before our 3rd year, child #2 almost exactly one year after that.
Passive-agressive behavior on her part was my red flag. I reminded her of her father and she had a lot of inner anger that could not be directly communicated to him. Shortly after moving in together, I sensed something was off (or maybe I just am suspicious for no reason). She had been interacting sexually with a prior male interest digitally and over the phone. I was betrayed.
I think the hard truth to accept is that I was afraid to place a boundary and enforce it because I was afraid of losing our seemingly emotionally connected, intimate relationship. I didn't want to risk another period of being alone and without physical connection either. So I coped with the inability to defend my values by eradicating any possible form of trying to "control" her like her father had. I lost my identity and any chance at feeling self-confidence while with her.

There have been many forms of betrayal and violations of normal expectations by both of us. I now have to look at myself in the mirror: I became abusive because I decided to invest my life in someone that I expected to have the same strategy for meeting VALUES and NEEDS as me. Hers are not morally wrong, thankfully I can see that. They are just fundamentally different. Our moral codes guide the way to survival and thriving in an incompatible way.
I am done feeling hostile, angry, resentful, and depressed. Right now, while writing this, I feel at peace. We humans only did the best we could. The situation we were born into is not our choice. Pain stops when a video like this can give clarity on what is really going on.
Now I am finally confident enough to get a divorce, free us from the shared misery, and live for once. I had been wanting to (and actually doing) hurt myself since the betrayal came only after I felt situationally trapped. I've faced multiple addictions and become a violent person at times just to end the pain (or make her change). Only a sad, hopeless soul that knows no way out ends their life (or another's life). I know because I tried. Now I must finish processing that shame and create change in myself.

Yelling and screaming are not ways to solve conflicts because that means no one is listening. If yelling and screaming are not allowed, it forces the couple to TALK to and LISTEN to each other. That's the only way problems can be solved. Also, yelling and screaming often leads people to say nasty things and call each other names and that is NEVER productive because it is not rational. It is hurtful. In the 45 years my husband and I have been married he has NEVER, EVER, EVER called me names. Not even once. I don't do it to him either. We've learned to have discussions and work through problems. I stopped listening to your video at the point where you said yelling and screaming are acceptable when fighting. No. Treat each other with RESPECT, TALK about the problem and WORK on solutions. No yelling or screaming needed. And think about the example that type of fighting teaches to the children. It only perpetuates irrational behavior, for generations. If I talk to my husband (or he talks to me) about a concern it is entirely different than when someone starts yelling and screaming because that is ATTACKING the other person. Let's be Adults.
I think it’s difficult to avoid shouting when there is denial & gaslighting. Sometimes a big row opens up the conversation at least.
