The SCS dev’s keep promising as such, but instead of being focused on maps instead of the game mechanics themselves this is what we’re left with in ATS.
They simulate different things, though. Would be cool to get a mix of them in one package, though. Maybe even just getting a truck dirty in ATS/ETS2 and a bit of powerwash simulator tossed in there to clean it up after awhile to see the cool paintjob again.
Snowrunner is not a long haul trucking simulator. It is an off road game. They devoted resources for a specific discipline. ATS did the same. No clue why these two are even being compared. They aren't even trying to be the same type of game.
Most likely both of these trucks were modelled by the same Artist, Since it's officially licensed there's also a huge chance that The company provided the base 3D model, They also put a lot of restrictions regarding what you can change or can't change.
Snowrunner does a great job making the trucks look like they actually are used. ATS just looks like a came off the dealership lot. Honestly like the look of the trucks from Snowrunner better but the handling at higher speeds in ATS is better.
I'd love to see someone do an RP mashup among ATS, Snowrunner and maybe even Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 where you could tell an entire story. Something like flying yourself from Texas to Washington state where you would pick up a new Western Star, then stop by and pick up a piece of heavy equipment on a lowboy or something and have to drive the whole thing back to Texas to drop it off. You'd probably have to use a filter to make things cohesive, but I've seen some talented RUclipsrs who could pull off a great RP story like that.
ETS and ATS seems like an old car with facelift in comparison with snowrunner, not to mention mudrunner (which has better physics imho). For now I quit ETS. BeamNG also has great physics, it could be better evaluated in another video.
Euro Truck simulator 2 things far more realistic than ATS. I have a hard time playing ATS after playing ETS 2. Here's my complaint with both of those simulators. I'm not a computer guy so please don't bash me I was just looking for somebody who might know the answer. Why can't they show damage, dirty trucks and inclement weather other than rain? The driving characteristics in snowrunner are just too odd for me. But I love the fact that it shows damage and dirt.
I play SR on ps5 and it's nice to know that the semis themselves are pretty accurate I felt since its more offroad the vehicles wouldn't be as detailed but I was surprised to see SR put enough detail on the vehicles in the game. Wish we could actually use the highway trucks a bit more they become useless after the first two sections of the map.
Question: If Snowrunner having their real brand in their Western Star trucks, why are there visible damage compared to ATS Western Star trucks despite their licensing agreement do not permit developers to make their trucks damaged?
For this to happen all license holder across both ATS and ETS2 have to agree, would be weird you you could damage Daimler and Volvo trucks, but no the rest.
Because licensing agreement is a quick and poor excuse as to why we don't have damage in ATS. That has never been confirmed as to why we cant have damage, perhaps maybe their game engine doesn't even support damage for all we know. Previous games from SCS didn't have licensing and still didn't have damage physics.
I like both games lol but if I was picky and had to choose just one I probably would go with snow runner with having ground deformation and more offroading then ats
I wonder how Snowrunner team convinced the Western Star team to authorize their beautiful trucks to have visual and physical damages in a video game, to my knowledge, none of the truck manufacturers ever authorized their beautiful real trucks to get any visual damages in any video games ever.
In resume, ATS needs to improve drastically in physics and damage simulation. Physics could be upgraded with mods, there's actually one and works pretty good. In damage simulation, ATS has a weak point. It is pretty frustrating that the vehicle remains pristine while you crash but the mechanical damage is present. How on earth?! Feels empty, awkward or weird. I am not asking that you can make you truck blow up but aesthetical damage is needed. Just like other car simulators like Forza Horizon, NFS Heat or Snow Runner.
I try and be bias to both games but ya see one is an off road game simulator while the other is a trucking simulator based on highway and what little offroad there is it's mainly gravel
interior detail of ATS with exterior detail + physics of SnowRunner. With a mixture of both games audio with more realistic truck audio, if not just out right real truck audio. i guess that would have to be mod only though. i want ATS to have more SnowRunner type jobs terrain wise, (offroad logging), but still keep ATS control. SnowRunner physics, but ATS control. i use keyboard and mouse with ATS and Xbox controller with SnowRunner. you can tell SnowRunner is a "game" vs ATS being a "simulator" so since i dont have a sim rig keyboard feels better with ATS.
Not really comparable. ATS is a simulator while Snowrunner is a game. Once I got ATS set up with Quest 2, G29 + truck gear stick, there's just no comparison.

Cab suspension? Yes, pretty much all commercial trucks in the modern world have cab suspension. All of the ones in ATS should, but they don't seem to have any plans to add it.

Also, ATS is a game from 2016.

Despite that i see no reason for a damage model to be created This isnt wreckfest afterall
@@Elijah1573 SCS has nothing to do with it. It's all about the marketing department of each of the brands. If you read my message correctly, of course, since I am writing through Google translator.
Now if Snow Runner would only incorporate the Tobii Eye Tracker 5 system.
ATS is an older, tired game engine and in dire need of upgraded graphics and physics. It’s really showing it’s age now. The SCS dev’s keep promising as such, but instead of being focused on maps instead of the game mechanics themselves this is what we’re left with in ATS.
Nice video. Suggestion for your next comparison maybe tone down the music a touch not just through the audio representation parts.
ATS is a good game but they have room for so much improvement. I really hope they overhaul the engine instead of just making new DLC states.
some lighting changes would work wonders for sure
They simulate different things, though. Would be cool to get a mix of them in one package, though. Maybe even just getting a truck dirty in ATS/ETS2 and a bit of powerwash simulator tossed in there to clean it up after awhile to see the cool paintjob again.
Ats with lsnowrunner graphics and offroading physics... with beamng drive driving and damage physics... now that would be an awesome game to play
Snowrunner is not a long haul trucking simulator. It is an off road game. They devoted resources for a specific discipline. ATS did the same. No clue why these two are even being compared. They aren't even trying to be the same type of game.
how come, there is license for damage, dirty and smoke from pipes for snowrunner, and not for ats/ets2?
Because SCS engine probably doesn't support that, so its easier to say its because of licensing.
The only thing I don't like about snow runner is that any type of high speed you can not controll the truck anymore
Most likely both of these trucks were modelled by the same Artist,
Since it's officially licensed there's also a huge chance that The company provided the base 3D model,
They also put a lot of restrictions regarding what you can change or can't change.
That's what I was thinking. They may be imported differently but the models are generally by the manufacturer.
SCS does the models themselves. They visit the dealership and take 3D scans. They even got videos of that on their official channel.
@@strukitru Just like FH5
@@kgaming7599 Didn't I just disclaim your hypothesis.
@@strukitru No not really. I didn't really specify what I meant hehe
Snowrunner have some nice graphics whether it is p.c or platform.
Yeah but really there are only two highway only trucks
@@FCKy613 yes but they are nice Trucks with nice modifications I would like to use them a little more or have an option to upgrade to awd.
I played both but they are different style of driving simulators. One is offroad style other more urban.
Awesome comparison 👍💪
Question: If Snowrunner having their real brand in their Western Star trucks, why are there visible damage compared to ATS Western Star trucks despite their licensing agreement do not permit developers to make their trucks damaged?
thats what i like to know
Special licensing i guess plus not a lot of brands make intro Snowrunner compared to ETS and ATS where there's no drivable made up brand
For this to happen all license holder across both ATS and ETS2 have to agree, would be weird you you could damage Daimler and Volvo trucks, but no the rest.
@@bladypiter plus Snowrunner doesn't have as many licensed vehicles such as ATS and ETS
I like both games lol but if I was picky and had to choose just one I probably would go with snow runner with having ground deformation and more offroading then ats
why did you didn't put the ATS truck customisation ?
I wonder how Snowrunner team convinced the Western Star team to authorize their beautiful trucks to have visual and physical damages in a video game, to my knowledge, none of the truck manufacturers ever authorized their beautiful real trucks to get any visual damages in any video games ever.
To be fair the 47x sleeper is a pretty decent truck to use.
Nice comparison video!
The difference is quality vs quantity. Snowrunner is a much better game but ATS has thousands of miles of uninteresting roads
The lighting in snowrunner is so good
Not very realistic but very moody and atmospheric indeed.
The thing is, there're about a 10 year difference between there two games.
Wait, i didn't know that Snowrunner also had the 57X. When did they added that?
Yesterday :D
@@toastcz ah...
Nice comparison 🧐☕
Excelente la comparación! Muy buen trabajo
if this was a competition to see which was better this will be absurdly unfair.
damn, American Truck Simulator sounds so weird without it's reverb feature on
The ATS model looks better, but lighting and physics are better in Snowrunner imo
How the hell the ATS model looks better?!
The Snowrunner model is literally way more detailed and better shaped, closer to what the real thing is.
SnowRunner is a little less immersive like no blinkers or wipers but it's physics and the way the trucks get dirty is awesome💪
I honestly don't see why they can't bring ATS to console.. I'd pay top dollar for it and the expansions
Imagine if they made a game together
На базе Showrunner'a нужно делать симулятор дальнобойщика! Это была бы пушка!
Так, було б круто
why the smaller versions of these trucks have no diff lock or awd is beyond me
they would be total weapons if they did have it
They do now and yeah total beast.
I want to love SnowRunner, but I always feel like the truck is on ice when you get on pavement.
The game engine doesn’t like it when you go fast, that’s not it’s purpose.
we deserve a hybrid between both games
They need to get together and have a baby. Then we would have the perfect trucking sim 😁

I wish snow runner had a map where the roads were actually drivable
They have have one its a mod but it's still a fun one
Vote in the comment what do you like the most?
Snowrunner or ats?
In resume, ATS needs to improve drastically in physics and damage simulation. Physics could be upgraded with mods, there's actually one and works pretty good.
In damage simulation, ATS has a weak point. It is pretty frustrating that the vehicle remains pristine while you crash but the mechanical damage is present. How on earth?! Feels empty, awkward or weird.
I am not asking that you can make you truck blow up but aesthetical damage is needed. Just like other car simulators like Forza Horizon, NFS Heat or Snow Runner.
Snowrunner is next level🔥but i also enjoy ATS and ETS
I try and be bias to both games but ya see one is an off road game simulator while the other is a trucking simulator based on highway and what little offroad there is it's mainly gravel
Is possible make big maps in Snowrunner?
I really want the cross child of farming simulator 22, ats and snowrunner. I'd be in heaven
Chegou Sábado deixando aquele like327 do fiel Bus Tmj 👍🏼
big fan of ATS, but they definitely need to improve engine sounds! thank god for mods.
interior detail of ATS with exterior detail + physics of SnowRunner.
I wish there was mix of American Track Simulator and SnowRunner. But wait, what about Alaska Track Simulator?🤫

daddy pig: its no good. it wont start
Not really comparable. ATS is a simulator while Snowrunner is a game. Once I got ATS set up with Quest 2, G29 + truck gear stick, there's just no comparison.
THEY ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT GAMES
(This is for those comments that are doublling down on comparing both games)
Snowrunner should come out with a long haul season.
Yasss
God no
Going anything above 30mph in snowrunner and the physics dont know what to do
Let alone the horrible first person camera and 0 wheel support
Leave it to SCS if you want a long haul game
@@Elijah1573 who are you to tell us what to leave to scs and what not
SNOWRUNNER is still best even in Sumer 🙂
ATS and ETS2 - old engine, bad physics, sound is avarage and trucks look like plastic, unreal model - to play you need to install tons of mods to improve the game
No
Does this truck has cab amortisation in real life? 1:41
Cab suspension? Yes, pretty much all commercial trucks in the modern world have cab suspension. All of the ones in ATS should, but they don't seem to have any plans to add it.
@@Seriousmods Cool i never thought about that and it looks silly when whole thing moves on the bumps :)
snowrunner focus on offroad which so interesting than american truck...love the snowrunner physics & dirty looks...
Snowrunner is Apocalyptic truck game i like it 🤩🤩
Es claro ats es un juego de carretera se enfoca más en el manejo las carreteras y snowrunner se enfoca más en el realismo se mira mejor en american truck simulator pero en snowrunner es mucho mejor todo
SCS can definitely work on there sounds in game. Probably it's biggest flaw imo.

@@kgaming7599 good job
There is a mod i use by kriechbaum for engine sounds
I pair this with a ton of other sound mods i got and it sounds amazing imo
No
Did you forgot to show the customasation from ATS?
Those are clumsy, annoying and scarce. The shop too. And the cameras there.
Bhai yah mobile mein chal jaega kya game
The age old pro-ATS fanboys argument about licensed vehicles NEVER having damage model... out of winduuuuuuuuuuuuu
American truck sim has its realism in Road trucking, snowrunner is based on off roading
SnowRunner is without a doubt the best in everything that the american truck
SR winning with ATS like Snoop Dog on freestyle with my Grandma
I wish they release the ps5 version of truck simulator
Ets/ats oynarken 1 saatte 100 kilometre gidersin ama sunowruner da camura saplanır 1 saat uğraşırsınız :)
What are you all saying about ATS getting SnowRunner physics? Have you ever driven a truck on a road in SnowRunner, it's so unrealistic and undrivable. ATS has got the physics right for what it is, a long haul truck simulator. Also, there are some cool mods if you want the cabin movement more exaggerated or the engine sounds a bit better. Also, ATS is a game from 2016.
You can't compare an off-road Sim to a truck driving Sim. Especially a PC game (ATS) being compared to a multi platform game
That's exactly why I'm only comparing the truck
Snowrunner physics are kinda of hit or a miss.
Either it feels too arcade or too ridiculously tough.
Mudrunner physics was better where trucks have a little weight to them.
I just completed Snowrunner base game and now started ATS.
I don't have a steering wheel setup but still on keyboard and mouse, one thing that definitely makes ATS fun is manual shifting which sadly snowrunner does not provide 😂
Let's hope they fix this in the upcoming ROADCRAFT
Nerozumím jedné věci. Proč do této hry výrobci tahačů umožnují špinavé trucky, a do ATS pro SCS, nikoli.
SCS under does all the actual truck movement and snow runner over does it. Can’t even keep the trucks in a straight line on pavement in snow runner.
ATS’ sound design has always bugged me. The trucks sound so quiet. That and mixers add older, better looking and sounding trucks than the devs.
Are the simulator games downloadable
