I am assuming that you are talking about the 6.2 v8 in the merc at the time? Spoiler the merc wins (unfortunately) due to torque, and not slipping so much off the line.
@@The_North0 Yup, i take mine E63 M6 to regular yearly maintence. It currently has 230k km on it. Had it for over 8 years now, never had major issues. All that matters is proper maintenence and give it time to warm up, but not everyone does that, so they break.

This was based on the 3.0L v10 p84/85 F1 engine when BMW still was in F1. The good old days of good sound f1 is long gone though.
