How traditional Stilton cheese is made in England

  • What do you do with moldy food? You throw it away! But not Stilton though. It’s one of those cheeses made with edible mold, like French Camembert or Italian Gorgonzola. Stilton is considered the king of English cheeses and can only be produced in one specific region. We went to Hartington Creamery to find out how it’s made.

    The village of Stilton is in Cambridgeshire, so you can't make it there. It's not one of the three designated counties. It was most likely sold there, which is how it got it's name .

      Shame it is a little more difficult to find, but yep the raw milk version is nicer.

      ITYM Gorgonzola while okay is a poor imitation of Stilton
