  • Wanted to make a video about tying fishing line into frames.
All of the other methods I saw take too long and are to complicated.

If you use two little nails...run the tag end like you did there, and wrap it around a nail and drive it down...then you can pull your line tight enough by hand, wrap it around another nail and drive that one down, and cut your line. Faster than tying the knots. Good video.

Thanks, you know I tried that and for whatever reason I get these done faster. Thanks for sharing, be sure to subscribe!

That's the way I do it too ORM must faster for me. I use 30lb test that you can really pull tight and the bees don't chew it in half then coat it with melted beeswax using a hobby paint brush.

I read that there's a toxic lubricant used on mono filament fishing line, it's for sure on eagle claw line I asked the factory rep.

Roy I clean my mono filament with alcohol to remove any lube applied by the manufacturer. It's squeaky clean when I use it before coating it with bees wax.

I use 30# test and a staple gun, work great and much faster

My bees chewed 20# test into and pulled it out of the hive. I use small stainless steel wire.

I wonder if they can chew thru 50 lb braid. Regular scissors have a hard time cutting it unless you use scissors made for braid or small wire cutters.

Hi, how do you put the wax in the fishing line?
By the way , Great video!!

    Two questions:
    1) How does the fishing line hold up to extractors vs. wire?
    2) Have you tried anything else other than mono such as braid?

You all the bees can cut the fishing line, just so you all know

I recommend copper wire. I see no advantages to fishing line.
