2 years ago you literally changed my life; you playing this by yourself with just your guitar and amp inspired me to start learning guitar by myself and Shibuya was the first song I learned, funnily enough on an acoustic! It basically was my teacher; my main goal was to learn this song and nothing else. Now I have a huge passion for math rock, learned bass and currently produce music as a hobby; thank you so much Yvette for being you!
Heard of that type in-vitro action, but this lady was teaching her babe in the womb… decades ago… here we go wonderfully again…⚔️🙏🏽⚔️ (and the kid’s a genius)… Word up…
My dad played guitar most of his life, even played gigs for a living for a while. He was a finger-picker. And he'd have thought you were absolutely amazing. I lost him a year ago, but hearing you play brings me close to something he loved so much. I appreciate it. And this song is just gorgeous.
She is incredible and a good sign for the new genius generation. On that accoustic performance i had the same chills as listening Andy McKee Rylynn - they may are using the same chords tunning. I totally love it.
I will always remember when youtube recommendations introduced me to you playing this song on your amp 2 years ago. It's been really cool to see Covet grow since then. I'm so happy I still watch your covers of your own songs; I'm awestruck every single time I watch one of them. Looking forward to seeing Covet live sometime soon, maybe.
speechless. There're brief points where I think she's forcing the issue but they're incidental. The rhythm, the melody, the spirit and expression are so genuine, sincere and joyous. She alternates b/t assertive, look-at-me phrases, and then a moment later a self-conscious whisper b/t friends, and then boldly, confident open chords. it's moving...not much more can be said.
You *enjoy* making music. You revel in the movement of your fingers and the rich tones that they produce. Your face clearly shows the delight that you feel. You are *_lucky._* You have mastery of your instrument and can actually enjoy it, and we are just as happy to hear it. *_Thank you for sharing your music with us._*
I gotta say, seeing you play so professional and amazing motivates me to keep going on learning guitar. You always look so happy and you're honestly so cool, thank you ❤️
I'm 22 and I'm gonna start playing the guitar because I fell in love with your music and Ichika Nito's 😍❤️ I hope someday to upload a cover of shibuya, my favorite song at the moment ✨
Yvette, if you see this comment: Thank you, you have inspired me in ways I cannot fully express. Your work has reawakened my spirit. May your success be ever greater.
wow, words cannot describe how i felt listening to this. the way you manage to tell a story and convey emotions with just the sound of your guitar makes it so magical.
Uplifting and amazing, Yvette! I watch this over and over. Your playing embodies all of the qualities of guitarists past I have loved (Michael Hedges, Tommy Emmanuel...) Such musicality.
Hi Yvette, Hearing you talk, listening to your music and watching you play is a healing therapy for me. It's not just a coincidence that i came across Shibuya on YT which you uploaded 2 years ago. Ever since discovering Shibuya, your music has been healing me. Looking forward to whatever you're planning to give out. Take great care of yourself!🖤
Dealing with a lot of grief and pre-emptive loss and mourning. Idk what it is, but this song really makes sense whenever everything feels so much bigger than I could ever imagine being and it’s all so much to take in. Thanks for being so incredible.
im in a new city in a new state going to a new school and i know nobody and am so stressed out and this video just took all of that away for 5 minutes. the best
Actually there's probably some dudes playing meta life watch before that are probably technically just as good but I'm not really into metal she plays the music I like I grew up with I grew up playing
seeing you play guitar with so much passion brings me genuine joy! And for someone that deals with depression for over a decade and a half, that's a lot. It is really hard to feel that way, but this IDK seems to be made out of pure joy
And not to put you in some bucket of young musicians I've just noticed that there's been a technicality up leveling with the kids these days that you especially excel at but in general I noticed there's a lot of technical effort put in the music by kids sorry I'm getting old everyone's a kid to me these days
Literally one of the most inspiring modern guitarists out there. Thanks for doing what you do Yvette, you absolutely rule, and your compositions are just beyond belief! ✨❤️
I packed up my guitars when we moved from our first home and I've neglected the practice and trying to pick it back up was so hard. But watching you play has re inspired to learn something new. Last night was the first night in 2 years that i could play for hours and forget the time. So thank you and keep up all the great work.

YOUR story is inspiring! That’s incredible!
Shibuya was the first song you learned?
pretty sure Shibuya cant be the first song to play
You have a link of your work? I really want to see this as well :)
My favorite, I played this song for my daughter while she was in the womb every night. Now she dances to it 2 years later.
Heard of that type in-vitro action, but this lady was teaching her babe in the womb… decades ago… here we go wonderfully again…⚔️🙏🏽⚔️ (and the kid’s a genius)… Word up…
This is beyond exceptional. You are a master of yourself and your instrument.

if there's any type of guitarist i wanna be, it's someone who plays with as much soul and passion as you. biggest thank you for sharing your art
Every Covet song is a musical masterpiece, as evidenced by the fact they sound amazing even when played on an acoustic "only"
I wasn't even in a bad mood, but this made my day so much better. It's always mesmerizing how refined your playing is and how much you feel the music.
I'm 22 and I'm gonna start playing the guitar because I fell in love with your music and Ichika Nito's 😍❤️ I hope someday to upload a cover of shibuya, my favorite song at the moment ✨
That smile at the end is everything to me. I love seeing people do what makes them happy 🩵
My favourite tune!

As a musician
You make me want to play every time I see you play

I liked the smile at the end the most. Fantastic playing.

Thank you for sharing your gift with us.
I love this song so much.
This woman is probably the best guitar player I've seen in the last decade
Actually there's probably some dudes playing meta life watch before that are probably technically just as good but I'm not really into metal she plays the music I like I grew up with I grew up playing
Yesssss 🙏 you are my inspiration, I look up to you and your playing 💜
There's so much groove in that melody. And then such a laid back and peaceful feel to juxtapose it. Absolute beauty in this song.
I think this video is quite helpful to give accurate data on the percentage of the people who click the dislike button by mistake on a RUclips video
I'm speechless amazing job 🙌 👏
Now this is skill
seeing you play guitar with so much passion brings me genuine joy!

I adore this
I literally get chills every single time I hear you play
I personally like these riffs a lot better on acoustic, but guess it depends on the mood. So beautiful
How are young musicians like you just so incredibly technically talented you blow me away
And not to put you in some bucket of young musicians I've just noticed that there's been a technicality up leveling with the kids these days that you especially excel at but in general I noticed there's a lot of technical effort put in the music by kids sorry I'm getting old everyone's a kid to me these days
beautifull!!
Every time I listen to one of your pieces I swell up with emotion. You have a gift.
More Acoustic Yvette. Yay !
Can you imagine if Yvette and Ichika Nito made a band? I don't think I'd be ready for that level of awesomeness.
They could call it the Talman Bros
