Indian Scout Bobber Front Turn Signal change - New Rage Cycles 360

- I wanted to mix things up a little bit and try to clean up the front end a little. I don’t hate but don’t love the stock turn signals. So just to try something new I figured I would try the NRC (New Rage Cycle) 360 turn signals on my 2020 Indian Scout Bobber Twenty. I wanted something reversable and solid so I decided against cutting and splicing wires so I opted to utilize JST (Japanese Solderless Terminals) on the new signals so I could create a plug and play solution that was easily changeable, reversable, and didn’t mean molesting the stock wiring.
I’m also providing links below to the parts I’ve installed on my bike. The procedure is pretty easy and outlined in this video.
Thanks for watching!

Older video and new to the channel, but thank you for the great content. I’m the proud owner of a 2021 Indian Scout Bobber Twenty and I love it. I got the Stealth Gray version and it’s beautiful. Thank you again for the info and content. The JST clips are the reason this helped so much because soldering is my enemy, lol.
me too. plus it is plug and play and reversible
Love it! I'm getting ready to add some Motogadget M Blaze bar end signals and I'm like you, I don't want to cut the old connectors. Glad I found this video and thanks for linking the JST connectors brother!
I was thinking of going with those bar end signals too. Figured I would run these for awhile and swap out later. JST is the way to go. Makes swapping out a breeze and no electric gremlins. :)
@@MessyGarageBMW I was actually thinking of running both. I'll see how well these work first. I am swapping out my handlebars so I figured nows the time!
Great video and Links. Thanks!
Wish I had known this When doing my led turn signals.
Suprising, I would have thought those would be less visible. They are not though. Very nice
Thanks for the amazing information! I just completed mine the exact same way.
Thanks! I'm always happy to hear when my content helps a bit.
Knew this was gonna be a good video when I saw the black rifle coffee hoodie lol
I always watch your videos , I’m dreaming for that sissy bar, great taste you have, the power is strong in this house too!, just order that new rage cycle turn signal keep it up man,,,
Thanks! I appreciate the comments. I am glad people are liking what I'm doing and getting some info from the videos.
You have have crimpers sitting on your tool bench in front of the jbl speaker, just in case you need to do wire repair in the future. Other than that, great video!
Lol. Yes I know that is why they were out there but they weren't working great so I opted for the other method. :-)
Great video
Thanks. Hope the content can be helpful.
Great video man. Love the plug and play. Where did you get that grill guard for your headlight?
Thanks. The headlight grill I have is off of Amazon. It is similar to this one, but the one I used is not available at the moment I guess. amzn.to/3mTwETZ
@@MessyGarageBMW Right on man! Thanks. I've been looking for one.
Did you buy 39mm for the 41mm forks? That’s what you linked in your video and I’m just curious cause I’m wanting to get the same!
Yes. They fit but fit tighter. I didnt want them rotating or sliding around.
Thanks for the video. Gonna order these. Also just wanted to see if you can confirm that the correct size for a scout bobber is 39mm?
Yes. The link in the video description should take you to the exact ones.
@@MessyGarageBMW Much appreciated. Thanks man.
Great video thank you, just followed along to do my bike. You do anything to clean up the back end? I'm moving the plate with a dean speed mount and wondering what to do with my rear lights.
I cut my plate mount already and have the plate mounted vertically. I have the stock signals still on the back because I don't think they look bad. I'm also considering a fender delete so I'm looking at different options.
My man! So I put these on my 2021 Scout Bobber last night, worked as expected, then when I did my finally test after buttoning everything up I got the hyper flash… I called new rage this morning and she told me I need one of the load equalizers. Did you have the hyper flashing issue at all?
No. Mine flash normal. Never had the hyperflash happen. I half expected it when I first got them but it never happened. I have not changed anything from this video and they still work the same.
@@MessyGarageBMW okay thanks brother. I guess I’m just lucky. Lol. Probably because I also changed out the back lights with leds too?
@@MattB13 That actually might be the issue. I still have my original tails.
@@MessyGarageBMW I think so too. Will throw a load equalizer on it and hopefully it solves the problem. I don’t really want to go back to the stock turn signals!
@@MessyGarageBMW so I got the bike all put back together and connected the battery and went for a test ride…no more rapid flash… it’s fine now. Put about 45 miles on it and still blinking as normal. Thanks for the video! Helped a lot!
Currently debating what turn signals to get, remembered you put this video out recently, I like that these look visible from the side too, safety first ya know. Are you going to do rear signals too? Btw, update on the corbin pillion seat: Had a few rides out now on it and the missus is really happy with it, says she doesn't notice she is sitting on it, which is a sign of a good fit. When did you put that headlight grill on and what is it?
Still debating on what rear signals I may want. I don't hate the ones that are on it stock but I'm always tinkering so who knows. As far as the headlight grill. I will try to find a link. I put that on awhile ago and it is one of those things I just didn't record and should've. Thanks for an update on the seat. I really need to get that sorted because my daughter really complains about the Indian one being uncomfortable.
@@MessyGarageBMWI see. Well, best of luck on your quest to rid the bike of chrome! Fairly surprised the control levers have managed to escape your cleansing campaign thus far. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Yes. They are on the shortlist as well. There are some im eyeballing from the Netherlands. Just need to figure out what style and color I may want to go with.
@@MessyGarageBMW LSL? I'm looking at the same thing.
@@tinxinator yep. Was looking at putting a splash of color to compliment the whole Boba fett thing going on with my bike.
hello, do you remember what color cable is the ground on the bike? the original turn signals have purple and brown cables
I'm sorry, I don't remember. Not sure if you can tell from the video which color i matched up.
Hi there, just tried to do the same change as you, plug and play with the 360 turn signals, but having an issue with the signals staying on slightly and flashing faster than stock. Was there anything else you needed to change to get yours to work correctly?
So my signals do stay on (although dimmer) in a "running light" kind of way. They do not blink faster than stock that I've noticed. If you are having these issues you may consider adding a load equalizer inline with the wires. I didn't do this because I didn't see these issues with my install. I do have another bike (suzuki) that does blink too fast when I converted the tail to LED so I know this is an issue on some bikes.
@@MessyGarageBMW thanks for coming back to me. Yeah, I have ordered some inline resistors and hopefully that will address the issues. Fingers crossed.
@@justinscotcher476 cool. please comment back on how that worked out so others know. What year and model of bike are you working on?
@@MessyGarageBMW Hi there. Finally got the indicators sorted. I spoke with New Rage and they hooked me up with connectors that had the resistors spliced in. Just tried them out last night and the indicators behave as expected without fast flashing or any residual glow. So for a 2019 Bobber, to get the best results I recommend getting the connectors. Shout out to Justin and Larnell at New Rage Cycles, their service was fantastic and they did everything they could to help me get an outcome. Super happy. Sorry unable to attach a photo of the connectors.
Did you have to take everything off again to fix this issue?
Did you replace your back lights as well?
Not yet. Trying to decide what direction to go in.
IDK I think the stocks are safer & easier to see and be seen.
These are more visible from the side much like a side marker on a car. I've not had anyone say they can't see them during night or day.
Nice bike if you lose the backrest.
Are those female or male ends you bought
You need the female end. The male end should still be on the wiring harness of the bike. The male is inserted into the female as is.... well... nature 😆
@MessyGarageBMW I know how they connect just wasn't looking at the connector. The link show 180.00 but that's for like 300 lol 5 is cheaper. How do you like them now? Thinking of doing this as well. Still recommended?
@cautiontext Text still on the bike and still operating flawlessly. Very happy with them.
@@cautiontext I'll have to check that link as it sounds like it is now pointing to a bulk quantity. Thanks for letting me know.
Just rechecked and I guess you need the male end. They gender it based on the pegs not the plug. Sorry for the confusion.
Where you from in Indiana? I'm from NWI!

@@MessyGarageBMW hells yeah, me too!
@@killernanny4315 That's cool. Maybe I'll see you out at some local rides or the dealership in Elkhart.

safety & style do not mix. I need to be seen when hazard lights are on!!!
The signals and hazard lights aren't gone they are just replaced with something that looks better and is brighter. Style and safety in one.
@@MessyGarageBMW if you ever want to sell your motorcycle I will happily buy it. thats the type of bike I need for myself & fiancé
