Just used your code to buy a glowforge pro. I am truly hoping to start my own side hustle/potentially main hustle we shall see. I will be planning on creating a on RUclips doing laser cutting among other things. May actually start more than one Chanel. Just wanted to help someone still growing. Hope I helped you out! I subscribed to y our channel as well!
@@customgrainsdesigns2226 I have a small 3018 CNC that I have been using exclusively a diode laser on for 6 months. Getting proficient at using Lightburn. Looking to upgrade. Btw I enjoy your videos
You mentioned if you knew more back when you were buying the basic model you would have gone with the higher model can you explain why you feel that way now?
Just because I wasn’t really sure I would make any money with it and I didn’t know if I would need the pass through slot or not. I have run into the need for the pass through slot before and the wait on the shipping was long which stopped me from making money for a couple of months. I know it makes my money back so I wouldn’t be as reluctant to buy the better models. Now that it’s only $500 more for the plus it’s a no brainer to get the plus. The 6 month warranty and faster shipping is worth it to me.
Way better off with any other machine honestly... the need to be online and the proprietary GF software makes it a no-brainer that any other brand is the way to go. GlowForge is the Apple of laser engraving/cutting. I know it sucks because people buying different brands will cut into your referral code income but it's just the truth.
I’m honestly pretty happy with the glowforge and do not regret my purchase. I’m sure there are better options out there, there always is. Glowforge fit my needs, being super easy to use and get started, that’s why I rolled with it. It comes at a price but I knew that.
@@customgrainsdesigns2226 I hope my tone wasn't taken the wrong way, I love your videos and I'm really happy the GF is working out for you like it has and continues to do so for many others. For those of us with a bit tighter budget though it just doesn't make financial sense when you can get more than twice the power and twice the workspace for a little more than half the price of the Pro Model and without the necessity of having to be online otherwise you have a very large and pretty paperweight :/
@@RB-cx3ce Your tone was not taken the wrong way. I completely understand your points and your point of view. This machine is definitely not made to suite every person. I respect you and anyone else who decides to go with a different brand. I will probably venture away from the Glowforge eventually but for now it is doing great for the types of things that I do. Thanks for your comments!
These glowforge prices are ridiculous. For 2800.00 including shipping you can get a 100 watt with pass-through and and auto Z adjuster with honeycomb and blade trays/decking and this includes built in cooling and air assist. Glowforge is internet based software.. if the company ever folds you will be the proud owner of a Pro 6k Brick.. I'll never own a Glowforge. So you have to ask yourself would you like to pay for a laser that is 6k and only get half the power at double the price with a internet required proprietary software. I know my answer. I'm all about buy American but not when it screws the consumer base. People do your research. There are way better options out there. It is a neat little machine but not at those prices.
@@customgrainsdesigns2226 yes. You can purchase what I mentioned from different companies and you can pay 1500.00 for the laser, roughly 500.00 for port fees and the a local drop fee of 500.00 to your door... rough numbers. The company I found in California sells the laser i mentioned for 2400.00 and will ship to my location for 400.00
@@customgrainsdesigns2226 i believe you get a one year warranty on the machine for parts and labor and 10,000 hours use on the Reci laser tube. You can purchase lightburn to operate the laser for 80.00. Lightburn is really illustrator for lasers plus it works with corel and another software that the name escapes me.
@@customgrainsdesigns2226 the model I mentioned is no longer available. There are similar models and also deep metal engraver lasers avaliable. I dont want to post a link or post the company name without your permission. But will be happy to do so if you like. I am not affiliated in anyway with this company and sure as hell not getting paid for anything. It just ticks me off when a Kickstart company starts out with 1200 for a basic and then jumps to 3k or more due to greed. I love my little diode lasers but have outgrown them and that is my motivation. Affordable, viable options that will do the job and won't leave me or anyone else feeling raped.
For these prices they all should come with at least a 2 year warranty in my opinion.
Longer the warranty the better that's for sure!
Thanks for all the videos you put out they are super helpful! Just used your link to get mine! :D
Glad you are liking them, thanks so much!

Time to look at Chinese CO2 I guess
If it’s your first laser I would still recommend the glowforge just because it’s so much easier to learn and set up than a Chinese laser

This is for a Chinese laser?
