378th Air Expeditionary Wing, United States Air Force video by Staff Sgt. Amanda Stanford
I remember first seeing the F-15 when it came to our base in Thailand (Nakhon Phanom (NKP)) sometime during the middle of 1973. It was an amazing aircraft and, almost 50 years later, it's still flying and fighting. What a beautiful and sexy airplane!
Funny my father said the same thing. He was in the USAFSS, 6994th SS, Det 3 flying as a "DF Operator" on the EC-47Q... he said NKP was pretty much all propeller aircraft but when the Eagle came in... WOW!
Except there were no Eagles in service in1973 as the aircraft was still in flight test. Eagle didn’t enter service until 1976, and fully deployed until 1979.
A Real Pleasure To Watch The Groundcrew At Work.
I remeber being apprentice aircraft mechanic at Fürsty in Germany. One they they payed a visit. When they took off in their then „baby blue“ painting goung quickly vertical, I felt there was no match for them. And today with engines that are way better than then, they are still among the best.
The pilot gets all the glory but it need so many people to make it airborne. They are also heroes. Not less.
They do a lot of work for sure and are valuable, but the pilot is flying into a war zone/hostile situation and needs to get his/her fear under control.
Viper81able Well said.
While I was on holiday in Poland I saw one of these at
Lask-Buczek - EPLK, Poland.
Thank you for your great love and dedication to your country and her citizens!!! Take care and God bless!!!❤🔥🇺🇸🙏🙏
The most successful fighter

Man, we didn't have crew chiefs that looked like that when I was in the air force. 77- 81.
Ayeee my second home; Saudi Arabia. I grew up there (parents still work there) but I'm doing flight training in hs and am going to become a fighter pilot. I hope to be stationed there ❤🇺🇸🇧🇭🇸🇦🇦🇪❤
Good Luck from the UK!
@@jimmysavile69 thanks man
@@splats6164 I hope you succeed
My Best wishes buddy
Good luck man! You going to reserve or straight to active duty?
Looks like they’re getting ready to hunt! Good luck! Love the F-15 and all the ground crew that keeps them flying!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️
My baby. F-15. Love it forever!!!!!!!!!!
The Eagles left Soesterberg Afb, the Netherlands in 1994........damn l miss these birds
Damn I need one of the headsets these guys are wearing under my headphones
That thing is huge.
McDonald Douglas outdid themselves...some brilliant engineers back then...first APU...GE Smokeless Ramjets...highest climb to glide record..and avionics that still performs today..has never been shot down in aerial combat
Question: How does the Helmet Mounted Cueing Display turned on in the F-15C? Is there even a dial switch for the HMCD in an F-15C cockpit?
Awesome ground crew team work.
I used to work in Riyadh KSA.
C130 program RSAF
That's a Kadena bird right there!
I miss the 67th...nah, I'm joking

What a hot mechanic :))
I was at Prince Sultan (aka Al Kharj) during Desert Storm with the 53rd's F-15Cs out of Bitburg. That's the very same stadium in the background from where we launched our jets and racked up over a dozen kills. It was tent living back then and you can still see the layout of the tent city in satellite images and probably from the ground as well. There is fuck-all around the base...just a endless vista of brown land with hazy skies from all the sand in it. Yuck.
''CHAOS''!!
The USAF will retire its entire F-15C/D fleet in 2025. F-15E will continue for more years after that. New F-15EX is coming soon.
They should make new F-15C airframes that are upgraded to the F-15EX standard.
Sam Hopkins Those airframes are 35-40 years old. They are nearing the end of thier useful service lives. The F15EX will be brand new.
olentangy74 That is what I meant, replace the legacy F-15C airframes with newly built ones in a single seat configuration that are equal to the F-15EX.
Sam Hopkins
I like F-15C and wish the F-15EX should be new single seat jet. Unfortunately, the Boeing website and first prototype showing F-15EX is two-seat airframe based on F-15E Strike Eagle because of high strength airframe. 💪
@@ruez
From what I heard the majority of F-15C squadrons being replaced are in the Air National Guard and are primarily involved
in domestic air sovereignty missions so a two-seater works best for various interceptor missions. In war, the F-15EX will
be working in concert with the F-35 and F-22 as a standoff missile hauler for the stealth platforms.
El canal es exelente son los mejores aviónes 💧☔🚫🔖😷👜
I love the F-15, is my favorite fighter jet
Doing hotpits tests your metal as a.maintainer...thats. how you fly in all out aerial combat...
The F15 is the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World.
The missiles below are AMRAAM 120 or aim 7?
Super
the life of a fighter pilot - chat up the cute girl - go flying
Oh you know so much about it
@@FlyNavy2004 have absolutely no idea what that means - but thanks for playing
JamesJoyce12 LOL, a moronic come back recycled from middle school days. I know more about tacair through firsthand experience than your dreaming dumbass ever would.
JamesJoyce12 Also, you have no idea about cute if you think that thing sitting in intake is cute. You sound pathetic and desperate
@@FlyNavy2004 lol dude - you are seemingly a 12 year-old girl - i got two [not just one!] incoherent replies from you! I am sure you know very much about military flying - at least as much as i might expect from a 12 year-old girl - dude - respect ur betters
wow
At 4:09 or so it looks as if he's being sent out with all those streamers still attached to the missiles. Am I correct in thinking that the streamers are part of the safety system and that the missiles cannot be fired with them in place? Thanks guys!
You are correct, they are a safety devise. The crew chief removes some of these prior to Taxi from the parking spot, the End of Runway or EOR crew removes the rest just prior to take off. The process is reversed upon Landing, The EOR crew “pins” any remaining ordinance etc. Specifically they say “Remove Before Flight”.
Steve G why have a EOR crew when the 1st crew can remove all the safety pins?
@@3bouldersurban653 Good Question. Ground Safety Rules for one. The weapons are normally last thing that is unpinned before take off. At least in my day that was the case. This occurred on the airfield Hammerhead area which is directly adjacent the the runway. Once the pins are removed then the aircraft only has to taxi a short distance to the active runway with everything armed. It’s like firearms safety really. With a rifle the safety is always on until you are actually going to fire. You wouldn’t travel to a gun range with the firearm fully loaded with the safety off. Well same principle here.
Steve G thanks G for the explanation
Do the belt colors signify anything? Some had blue.
No just a requirement when on the flight line
Yes. In the air force they typically represent squadron colors.
I’ve been playing DCS enough to fly one of these I. Case we have a war and the military bases get taken control over
🇺🇸 Good 👍👍👍
👍⚜️
I remember these Integrated Combat Quick Turns, or ICTs. Refueling while Ammo loads munitions. Brings back memory’s. Fun times.
Америка т е USA сила во вем мире так держать 👍👍👍🤗
I bet that F-15 is older than the ground crew!
Built in 1985

nice cooool F-15...
F-15 have 2 little error designs
🇺🇸👍
🥰👍👍👏👏👏💪
Looks like they loaded the ordnance AFTER it started. As it was sitting there, idling. This seems out of order to me. (Former Navy S-3 Viking pilot.)
This is called a "hot" ICT (engines running)Integrated Combat Turnaround. This generates a Second Mission sortie without the pilot leaving the cockpit. Refuel, Rearm and launch again within minutes of landing.
Interesting body language from the female crew chief. I assume fraternization is still prohibited in the military, but I am sure it still happens.
‘Hamazing...... armed and extremely dangerous... how to impress a gal...
So, when did the AF start allowing shorts as part of a uniform?
Since the AF broke away from the Army.
Various bases in the desert authorize them for maintainers on the flightline.
Don't know what's hotter, but I do see that crew chief's got the hots for 'her' pilot. Good. Those that care are those to be relied on at all times, especially if that care package involves fighter pilot welfare and fighter plane readiness. People always perform better if they 'feel' for their comrades.
I like this plane, how much for installment sale? Is there a promotion? I bought it to go to school because I often overslept to class late, studied very well and was smart, just a little lazy.

So this is what the ground zoomies do. Must be nice. Spent all of my soldering days in the mud tossing mortar shells at targets.
@Who Cares Didn't want to go in the Air Force. My father spent a career in the USAF. Was a photo camera tech. He repaired bomb run cameras. Two each 1½ year tours in Vietnam at Ton An Nuit Air Base in Vietnam. I had enough of USAF stuff because I grew up on an Air Base. FYI, I was born in a US Navy hospital, grew up on an Air Force Base, and, went into the US Army at 18. Wanted to do something different. So I did.
As far as dummies go. To operate a mortar you need to know as much as you can about trigonometry and a growing understanding of calculus. Although, not mastering those subjects like a college Professor.
One other thing Mr. Zoomie. This so called dumbass spent the time required to obtain a Bachelor's degree. So you have a nice day bubba. No dumbass here.
Precad or just a slide rule
To be F-14 or to be F-15 , that is DA QUESTION
Why are the ramps locked up? Some sort of anti-FOD action?
Not anti fod. F-15 intake ramps lock up on engine shutdown for maintenance, drop down after start based on airspeed.

I did not think you could hot pit fuel AND arm load at the same time.
This is an F-15D not C!!

You can wear shorts now?

That nose art needs to be better
It looks like the pilot and crew chief were preoccupied outside of work.

So basically, it takes them an entire day to get the aircraft ready to fly...and this is a fighter jet 🤦♂️
