Yasser has one of the kindest souls I've ever seen.
+Joe Amazon Yes. He is a good person.
True, i would like to play him. Should be fun loosing to him.
+Joe Amazon You call that kind? I call it sarcastic...
huh?
@@chess6446 from where?
Yasser's smile is simply infectious.
+CheapShotFail On every video I see of him he is grinning and happy - sweet! I agree!
Best thing about him
Yes siree
Now this comment has a complete different meaning
@@ThomasEWalker He is very kind, one time in Mazatlán, México i have dinner with him and his wife. Both are good People.
You can tell how much Garry still hates to lose by how seriously he takes this match haha.
+Enigma793 Yes he is still very competitive and wants to always play his best. A true champion.
+Chess64 Indeed he is!
He didn't lose
+Jace Lipp I'm aware...
It was draw
Kasparov, Yasser, Ashley, Magnus, Topalov, Giri, Aronian, So, Anand... and probably Grischuk and Hikaru somewhere off-camera. That room is absolutely STACKED.
True!! So many legends!! Thank you for watching!
@Rayden Gotta love the trolls. Keep up the good work man.
and westly So, I think
What an incredible assembly of chess legends in one location..... It brings tears to see this video. Truly priceless...
+whithaw Thanks!! Yeah sooo much talent collected in one room. Its awesome!!
I see only one legend. Just compare Yassers and Kasparovs behaviour.
Kasparov's mind : "Shut up Shut up Shut up asses"
Wow, look at the contrast between Seirawan and Kasparov's demeanor: one is all-business and humorless; and the other has a smile that spans a time-zone.
Look at Magnus carlsen just chilling in the back
You follow illuminati?
In soviet russia illuminati follows you.
"Fortunately for Yasser he only has to play one game....unlike Nigel" - LOLOLOLOL
+David Mbonu yeah he definatly fell short of expectationn
+David Mbonu Yasser would have delivered the same beating to Short. Short was playing like a 2100
Zoe TheCat He Lost a Great Game on Time...after refusing a Draw offer.
holy chess the talent in that room
Yeah they are really amazing. And Kasparov is pretty awesome. He is my chess hero. Got his autograph one time and got to see him play twice.
Pretty overwhelming.
Frank Yes, indeed and i wasn't even there….
And then there's Maurice Ashley...
@@isaacgonzalez7909 isaac🤔👍
Draw against Kasparov. This is proof that Seirawan is still beast when he's on his game.
Yeah Seirawan is awesome!
Yassers not playing to win, he's just trying not to lose loll
InnerPower But Yasser has beaten him.
I remember a beautiful Game he won at the Olympiad.
thats a quote from a movie dude
omg kasparov is extremely shyyyyy... and the beautiful kind yasser tried so many times to cover him by laughing loud , i love both of them so much
a living legend plays, but they cant keep quiet....................... even im disturbed while watching, cant imagine kasparov.
+Talha Özdemir Yeah sure and what about Yasser? He's playing against a living legend while paying attention to the jokes while complementing them while defending a tougher position. All merits which were only awarded to one of the two of them.
+Largo LaGrande yasser knows that he can't stand a chance against Gary. that's why while the game is on, he can still manage to compliment to those silly jokes around him
He beat Garry before.
They are just playing for fun
Yeah definitely made me cringe watching Gary probably annoyed and Yesser trying to follow the jokes, it seemed hyped but very unsatisfying setting.
And the world champion just chilling on the back..... flawless.
How cool would it be if you were having a game of chess with your friend and all of the top players in the world were just watching you play....Carlsen, Kasparov, Nakamura, Anand, Caruana....all thinking to themselves what the best moves are...It would be hilarious because you're not even close to their levels so you make one wrong move and they all fall back and facepalm like the world just ended...it's like you reach to move the rook and everyone cringes....you reach for the knight and they all close their eyes....then you finally reach for the pawn on A2 and they let out a sigh of relief...that would be a dream come true.....
you have quite the imagination
This is a great thought.
Just imagine if your friend was also as incompetent .. you'll bare witness to many suicides
@@gordonilaoa1275 lol
Hahaha
No matter if its a tournament or just a random everyday chess game, the preparation of Garry at the beginning is always the same. Looking at the board and calculating.
8 likes underrated
He started calculating even before the first move was made.
When Aronian laughs wholeheartedly, it sounds like a seal being raped.
+miklas1911 haha i think he likes ur comment the guy is pretty cool
ahahah
I will not ask how you know what a seal sounds like while being raped.
you witnessed a seal being raped ?!
A true gentleman would never ask...
I like how Carlsen always looks like the castaway in the group, sitting behind the entire crowd and yet he can murder all those guys in the board !
True!! He is the best!
In the whole world of chess, Yasser is the only person who dares to trash-talk the great Kasparov
Bringing a box of Kleenex to the game is not "trash talk", it's putting on a skit. It's doing schtick. Yasser can be so cringe sometimes.
How serious Garry is with chess, no smiling, greatest player of all time, along with Robert James IMO!
+Frederick Ikpatt He is actually my favorite chess player and I finally had the chance to meet him. Really awesome.
@@chess6446 that's amazing. Who else did you meet? Everyone in that room?
Paul Morphy might be the greatest.
Kasparov is a legend, but don't forget who Seirawan is. He's a tough opponent to face, I'm sure, and you don't mess with such people. Perhaps that's why Kasparov is really into the game - I would be too, even if I had that kind of strength; I would be careful not to overestimate myself.
Yeah. that's true! Awesome comment.
Kasparov lets his chess do the talking
Draws
Nah man , chess speaks for itself
Those guys in the background have a lot of balls for making noise while Kasparov is playing.
Kasparov has a legacy to uphold. He is considered arguably the best chess player ever.
Although he would realize that it is only a social game in a social setting, he would still want to play well amid all the current chess elite who are in the room. And I bet every one of those elite players were thrilled seeing the great man playing chess once again, albeit just a blitz game.
And they would know he still possesses a very high caliber of skill. And quite possibly, after some intensive training to get him up to speed, could beat everyone in the room. Just look at his recent spectacular performance against Nigel Short.
People who criticize him for being serious are being too harsh. Remember, this game is being videoed. Hundreds of thousands of people will watch it. But anyway, after watching it again, I hear him reply in a joking manner right at the end of the video. So he doesn't mind too much.
+Ian Bull True!! Thanks for your comments!
Kasparov looks serious here
+Isacc Newton Yes he takes chess pretty seriously. He helps chess grow around the world.
+Isacc Newton He is very competitive, doesn't like to draw or lose games even when they don't mean too much
+Isacc Newton That is why he was world champion. You cant treat this as a game to become the best.
You can see Gary takes chess really seriously, even if they are “just playing for fun”.
Yeah true. He does take it very seriously. A lot of people though expect him to play well.
5:03
Kasparov rocking back and forth like he is enjoying himself.
He probably misses playing in tournaments.
Garry is a serious player. He is there to win. Not to have fun.
As the others burst out laughing, Kasparov must be thinking: "I could beat the sh*t out of all of you if I wanted".
+Arturo Ruiz ehhh that's probably a stretch, if you look at who was in the room.
He could get beaten by more than half of the people in that room what are you on
Kasparov is a legend but he is not the best now.
Levon Aronian, Magnus Carlsen, Anish Giri, Wesley So. Non of them will be intimidated by today Kasparov
@@xa-1274 Wrong, Kasparov is better than Aronian, Giri and So. The only one who is perhaps better is Magnus Carlsen.
I do Love Yasser!!! What a Fantastic humanist!!!!! Greetings from Finlnland!!
+m5rule Yeah! He is truly a great player, always happy, and cares about others.
Nobody fucks with Yasser.
+SteveRunciman Yes he is a boss!
Some ambient noise ok but no narration during the game! What.the.hell.
I think that GM Kasparov just isn't used to this much talking, laughing, joking, play by play commentary while playing chess where you obviously need to concentrate. He looks uncomfortable because he doesn't want to lose. It is hard for a champ to just joke around.
To all those who are complaining about the other players making noise and commenting, well it wasn't a serious game. What they are doing is called kibitzing and it's a common practice in coffee house games and Washington Park blitz games. Kasparov was not amused though. He was taking it seriously, as his reputation is always on the line. He is still expected to win, even at his age.
Nice footage of these masters! Trikon tripods are lightweight, cheap, and keep camera movement smooth.
+p1nesap Thanks! Yeah I will work on keeping the movement smoother.
Chess64 chess games are best viewed from that same angle that you shot (so pieces don't look stacked, slightly off center) but a little higher, including the clock, so plz. try shooting like that. No need to zoom or move, just keep stable and steady so audience can follow the game. Thx
At 7:20 after Kasparov trades the pieces, Yasser waits for some time before recapturing the bishop on f1. Probably was calculating along the lines of pushing the pawn c5-c6 attacking the knight and creating a pass pawn but then realises it leads nowhere.
Probably that was the only brief moment in the game when Yasser thought he had counter-play. Quickly realising it doesn't work and draw is the only way out.
The disrespect at 8:39
by the way Kasparov and Yasser are old friends .. Yasser was there for Kasparov during deep blue games and he appears in some footage ..
I did not know that. That is really cool.
My dad coached GM Seirawan at Garfield High School in Seattle. In reality Yasser coached him, but we'll just keep that a secret lol
lol! That is an awesome story!! My Coach was Mr. Unruh. He has done many great things for chess over the years.
I got to teach Sam Shankland when he was in middle school. Actually, he did all the teaching.
Those loud people in the background should just shut up.
+Toxie207 It does make it hard to hear what the top players are saying.
Loud people? U mean ex world champion, current world champion, and the candidates for the world champion? U mean those loud people?
I do not get, why, if you filming a chess game, you wouldn't filme it from above?
the pieces become very difficult to recognize from above
Guys keep the camera pinned and stop messing with it when recording!
why all the noise?
for fun
In his prime Yasser may have been even stronger at speed than at slower controls.
I don't know what would throw me off the most, Kasparov's aggressive stare or Yasser's ASMR voice.
Great video. Thank you.
+Erik NikkiSoft Thanks sir!
0:05 Seirawan face..hehe
+motaro OO True
Is Maurice Ashley talking to a mic connected to nothing?
Love those pieces.
awesome. Where can I see more vids like this from this day?
Kasparov was serious that's why some people think that everyone must have been serious...if he was happy and was enjoying and making jokes like other people are then people must have been appreciating his friendliness...
Kasparov is just unbelievable, that's one of the ibm team, and he just enjoy play chess, what a humble man Kasparov is
Where did you see him enjoying playing the game and any humbleness?? Fans are really blind.
Because if a jerk expresses hiw wrong opinions in public, you, he must read and understand that his view is not the true and true only. So stfu and go back to the hole you came from. Post muted.
You got really close, my friend! :-)
Saulo Silva Last thing,I'm not your friend :)
Thank god! ;-)
Even though i am not a fan of Kasparov, i am amazed that after all this years he still find chess very serious.
He is competitive by nature
Not arsed to read the comments, what was the innuendo about the tissues?
Seirawan seems very friendley, and his smile infectious ! A nice guy !
at 5:55, why not Rxb1??
+lucifuge1968 If rook takes B1. Kasparov responds by taking the pawn in the center forking the queen and bishop winning the bishop. Materially an equal trade but positionally Seirawan's dark squared bishop is better.
+Chess64 cheers, its bit hard to see with angle we see the board
Still, 23.Rd1 is not really much better. 23.Bc4, 23.Qe1, and 23.Qd2 are all worth a closer look. Even 23.e5, 23.Bd1 or 23.Qc4 are a bit better.
even now you can see the chess machine kasparov is; hes not even rated anymore and yet hes as nervous as he was in 1985 match vs Karpov, his face is like termina tor, you cannot take it away from him
+Ivica Pavić Yes he is always very competitive.
Kasparov is always so completely intense over the board, one wonders if he even has the capacity to just "enjoy" a no-stakes game. The fact that he is retired no doubt only adds to his inability to "enjoy" a casual situation. It is probably that no-nonsense "killer instinct" that separates the likes of Kasparov from a very accomplished player like Seirawan. Certainly, to go from chess to Russian politics in the age of Putin takes some pretty big balls. It is well above the spiritual resources of the average chess-nerd to challenge a brutal and deadly tyrant. Bravo Garry. I myself at least excuse your humorlessness.
seirawan was in the top 5 in the world for a while. don't let the smile fool you. those other gm's have massive respect for him.
Notice the beginning of the video.
Everyone laughed and amused, telling jokes and talking.
Only Gary Kasparov continues to sit in front of the board. Serious face. He's focused. Looking at the black tools, as if there was no one around him.
Kasparov prepares mentally for battle.
At most he smiles quietly.
That's how you act before a game.
That's how you win a battle even before it starts.
It’s a fucking casual game 1 and he fucking drew with his tough guy persona while yasser was having fun. Yasser is the real winner here
0:30 is that old man in the shorts Viktor Korchnoi?
Btw, I know Yasser’s a top ten player in the world at one point, but you gotta have guts to trash talk Garry with a box of Kleenex tissues😂
lol. It was all done in fun but still Kasparov is a legend.
How about that move by Seirawan in 2:33 when he takes Kasparov´s pawn? That is not in that square? Is that something i didn´t know was a legal move in chess?🤔
its called en peasant its not a legal move but its used by cheaters all the time
Is that the same type of pieces used in the 2014 World Championship?
It could be. I am not for sure though.
Random question I've been looking into buying that kind of chessboard. Anybody know where i can buy that exact board?
That board if from Staunton and is pretty expensive. It is a DGT board
it's ok, guys. the clock survived kasparov's fist
lol.
any legend in their sport will never joke about it
Wesley So in the background, who beat Kasparov in what Kavalek's Huffington Post is calling the "Immortal Blitz Game"!
i love these videos!
+Wilfredo Galdamez Me too. lol :)
+Wilfredo Galdamez Thanks for watching. I just uploaded a new video today. John Nunn. If you watch the whole video at the end there is a link to an exclusive video where I have fun boxing. ruclips.net/video/ZAgPfbz79EM/видео.html
the chess set is so pretty
Interesting channel
Why are there no longer old men topping the league in Chess anymore? Young players era is good but the era of the oldies were way better.. maybe it's just my nostalgia
@@larrythechesstutor1621 I believe Ivanchuk and Ben Finegold still play regularly. But a lot of Grandmasters retire at 35. Where I'm at there is a National Master who regularly completed in his 60's, but most do not. I plan on playing my whole life.
@@larrythechesstutor1621 You are right though that many do not stick with chess and it's unfortunate. I'm hoping that the trend changes and fewer retire early.
Magnus sitting in the background looking like he's had too much wine.
How do you even compete against Yasser and his smile?
I don't get why the game finished? please someone can explain. ty
+pock picket I belive it's just a draw position. Both players too good to blunder.
thank you
All high level chess ends in early draws...
what is it with knight and bishop endgames, they always seem to pop up in GM games
+Anthony Kernich Yes. Well they extensively study the endgames and often Magnus goes into the endgame with a slight edge to press for more. Endgames are very complicated and Magnus has much success in them against other GM's.
One does not beat Carlsen in an endgame. Probably why Nakamura hasn't beaten Carlsen in classical.
Does anyone know what brand and model of those pieces? They are very nice
Not sure exactly which type. That question has been asked a lot and I wish I knew. I do know that it comes from House of Staunton though. Thank you for watching!
Just had to switch the sound off half way through.
+Saturno Luna La pocision dice tablas... Ni creo que El maestro abondonde así...
Where to buy this chess pieaces ?
Yasser Seirawan may not be the World Champ but he’s still my favorite chess champion. He’s an awesome author, instructor and player! And nice person to boot! I hope to visit St.Louis chess club next year.
I hope you are able to visit as well!! It is a really amazing place! Garry Kasparov is my chess hero!! I grew up studying his games!
kasparov was like: "fuck this shit, let's play chess"
Kasparov entering beast mode before a chess game
Yeah. Kasparov is amazing. He is my hero.
sorry.in this game who won? I think 0-0 right?
+genç türk Yes it is a draw
Gary doesn't seem to be enjoying himself at all here. What happened before this game?
I don't remember. He does take every game seriously and I remember he would outplay his opponents and get into time pressure and then lose a won position. He loses many won games because of the clock.
Kasparov wasn't having any of that trash talking. He lets his play do the talking.
What does Garry say at the very end which makes them all laugh?
I am not sure myself. I was even in that room years ago and I am still not sure. Kasparov is a legend so it's probably something witty.
A living Legend playing chess !! Also playing is Kasparov .
Kasparov is awesome!!
Yasser se divierte feliz el jugando garry la pasa mal jajja es muy competitivo el ajedrez representa algo muy serio para el. Saludos
I know some people may not like my comments. Garry is a player who truly represents the great game called chess. Just see others how they r making noise as if it is played in the park. Shame on the noisy crowd, I like Garry always respect the game even it is an informal one.He is the best amongst of all world chess champion without an iota of doubt. Kasparov has constantly promoted the game; he has done more than anyone to popularise chess in modern times.
Kasparov is my chess hero! Thank you for your comments. :)

Beautiful chess set. From the house of Staunton, without doubt.

I don't like Staunton chess sets that much.
These games are for fun. The tournament is over already!
Where can buy these pieces?

+Lazar Eduard They have high quality chess boards and other materials.
Is there anyone here can tell me what kind of chess set they are using?
It is from House of Staunton. I am not sure of the exact type.

What is this? chess or theater with chaos to make fall with trap to Kasparov?
Shut the fuck up you illiterate idiot
what board and pieces are they using
They come from Staunton and are very expensive.
DGT electronic board and they’re DGT electronic pieces.
