Word. I used to play the shit out of Quake II as a kid, but back then we didn't have internet so it wasn't as easy as it is today to get a game you wanted. Thankfully now I have the chance to play Q1 on my Xbox and I had lots of fun given how old the game is. It sure is harder than Q2 though
I watched it all the way through. Ingenious! On the one hand, the level design and the verticality. But also how you play. Very stationary. Thanks for a few hours of fun.
This mission pack is insane!!!! Definitely my favorite one, with og Quake as a veeery close second. The final battle against Chthon is absolutely genius level design and leagues over Shub-Niggurath

@@Infusco There at 1.44 min. you jump on a pole and super health awaits you there, I have seen not only you, but others. But in my game it is empty, no super health( Maybe there is some precondition for it to appear, or it's just a bug in my game.
I'm curious if you ever sorted this? I've now platinumed this on PS4 and PS5 and in both versions the super health cube at approx 1:44:00 is always there for me (unless a patch fixed it maybe).
Compared to base Quake, the expansion packs are as follows: * Scourge of Armagon has new enemies and weapons and is all around much more difficult and intense than base Quake. * Dissolution of Eternity has many new enemies and themed maps (ie. ancient Egypt, etc.). Boss fight kinda sucks though. * Dimension of the Past is base Quake but with bigger maps and more difficult. Could even pass as an episode of the original Quake. * Dimension of the Machine is also base Quake in gameplay but with maps that rival community maps in sheer scale and detailing. It's up to personal preference which is better, but if you ask me I would put DotM as best, base Quake and DotP as second best, Armagon as third and Dissolution as fourth.
e3m1 and that disgusting part where are zombies and damage floor... where are my biosuits, machinegames?!?!?!? Hate to left nails there, or stand 30 minutes until i see the last zombie.. DON'T USE DAMAGE FLOOR IF YOU WON'T PROVIDE TOOLS FOR THE PLAYER TO PASS THEM
I don't know. I guess I'm a fan of vanilla stuff. Played thru this episode few days ago and - I'm not impressed. I don't play the game to check how the devs made the levels, I don't get too geeked out on technical stuff, it's certainly interesting but that's not why I bought it from steam. The levels are overly complex, over the top in some way, there's no actual atmosphere in here there's just arcade. But if I say anything other than "wow amazing job best ever" then I'll be labeled a hater, because "muh effort put into this" or something. So idk. Mediocre.

It's a matter of choice, I prefer the original game. You can always have a look at all of them in my channel ;)
