I'm 21, and I just got hired at my first professional job! I'm so excited, but very much overwhelmed when it comes to knowing what to wear. As someone who's only been working in coffee shops and restaurants since High School, where there was either a set uniform, or very strict dress code, this video is a life saver!
It seems to me you wouldn't want to wear anything in this video to work. The shoes would fill up with sand and dirt. Does your workplace require steel toes? Most do. Normally maybe something more durable for the pants because these would rip the first time you kneel down for anything. Also if you wear these tops make sure you have a heavy jacket if you are going to be welding or using the cutting torch at all. Or deliberately burn holes so that your company upgrades to carhearts (I'd never do that wink wink). Also, does any part of your job involve applying pesticide or herbacide? Because if it does you want to look up state regs. Those differ state to state. Good luck out there I hope this was helpful.
Yes! I’m 22 (today) & am supervising people three times my age and your videos have helped me build a wardrobe that makes sure they take me seriously. I’d love a video on shoes and jewelry especially!
!!! you are the older sister i've always needed in my life !!! i'm starting an internship in washington dc this january and turned 24 in november. i've been slowly coming to realize that now i need to start developing a more mature and put together wardrobe and this video was an absolute godsend for me to start off a semi-professional internship with. thank you so much for taking the time to create such a detailed, well thought out and amazingly helpful video, louie!
Check, check and check....I have been working in an office for over 30+ years and the office basic uniform has never changed. This is a good video for those just starting to dress for the position they want. Thanks for sharing
This video is perfect! I’ve been doing months of research on having the basics of an adult wardrobe as I got ready to graduate and this video is all the good stuff condensed into less than 15 minutes 😭 what a lifesaver finding this the week before I start my job!
I’m 22 and have worked in food/retail for 6 years. I have never had to dress business professional but just got a really amazing opportunity. I’ve been stressing since I applied and now that I’ve got it I’m stressing more. This video is so helpful I cannot thank you enough
I totally agree with the “good trousers” tip! When I need to look put together but don’t have any outfit idea in mind, I put on my one “good” Black pants and it can goes with almost any blouse.
You are always doing just THE BEST work wardrobe videos with clothing you can actually wear to work. With other YT most of the time I'm just sitting there thinking: Who the hell, would wear that to an office. Please keep on going!!!
This is such a much needed video for me. I’ve been at my job 3 years and no longer have the clothes I bought when I first started (put on some weight & no longer liked the styles). Lately I feel super frumpy and very unprofessional with my wardrobe so I’m going out shopping this weekend to buy some essentials, and this helped identify what those key pieces should be. I love how you present the information with tons of outfit examples, and I could tel how much work went into this video. Thank you so much for giving a great foundation for a classic work wardrobe!!!
Oh my god I can't thank you enough for making this video and also for sharing links/options to things that are actually affordable yet look high quality. You're a goddess. Thank you.
Just discovered your channel and what a find! I'm overhauling my decade old work wardrobe and have cleaned it out by donations and selling my clothes online. I'm starting from nil and your videos are so inspiring and prove that you don't need to spend loads of money to look amazing.
Miss Louie I have twin granddaughters that are completing their college degrees in May. I am bombarding them with your posts. We are working on Capsule Wardrobes! I love your style! Thank You!
The best video to get started on a capsule wardrobe. Great description of the uses for each and every piece. Don't worry if you are not going into the office. This will help you if you need to rebuild a wardrobe for any change in lifestyle or change in body size.
YES! To all the video suggestions! Work shoes! White staple show go tos! Loafers, heels, flats! Something comfortable that is still super cute! LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!
Love the combination. It helps me a lot at work. When I used to work in hospital I don’t need to think what to wear but now working in the office is more different and difficult for me to mix and match and this help me a lot. Thank you so much
I love you so much I am 18 and I recently lost my job and i finally got an interview but its buisness professional and i never had anyone to help me with this stuff so im very grateful for you
Excellent advice for the professional. Capsule wardrobe - great neutrals and very polished. As an older professional, I have always dressed like this and it’s worked well.
Thank you again! I can never get tired of your style videos. All your looks look so so good! You helped me a lot when I was trying build a work wardrobe and are still helping me. Love how organized you are too and make everything very easily accessible
Getting back into the workplace after working from home for a few years. This video is so helpful in helping me nail down the right silhouettes and combos. Thank you for your efforts in putting it together.
Wow! I just love your suggestions. They are so helpful and dressing the part professionally is just so important. Thank you for such an extensive work.
I’m 20 (21 in about 5 months) and I’m a senior in university. I just accepted an internship with a marketing company that starts in January and this video is a GAME CHANGER! So thankful you made this video (even though I’m pretty late 😅)
Yessss you’re back! Could you do workwear for specific body shapes in the near future? I am an apple shape (and I hide it well) but when it comes to pencil skirts and some sheath dresses and all manner of tucking in, it highlights my stomach, the one part of my body that is the worst. Apple shapes don’t have a great defined waist either. I’m sure every shape has its problems, but I feel like all workwear is especially trying if your stomach is your problem area!
I was thinking the same thing. Those styles are fantastic if you are blessed with a svelte body, but curvy girls and pencil skirts are not a match made in heaven.
I recommend peplum waists with pants/skirts that are looser around/below the hip to balance out the shape, plus it is more comfortable around the stomach and hides any wrinkles. 100% recommend belts/comfortably fitted high waisted skirts and pants to help take attention away from your stomach and make your figure appear more balanced. For necklines, something that is closer to the neck and brings attention to your face helps to hide the wider upper torso/balance lower torso, or if you have something like a peplum you can get away with wider or more square necklines to give a more hourglass appearing figure. Hopes this helps!
Your videos are so unique, helpful, and THEY JUST GO SO HARD. And you look stunning in this video! I love the color combo of your burnt orange and navy outfit.
This is very helpful. I already have work wear, but it is good to re-evaluate the items I have and how to better utilize all of them. Thanks for the video!
This video is great. There's a lot of actual pieces that I want here, not only an "inspirational video"... I really need this kind of stuff, and I can see you put a lot of work into making it actionable and realistic but still stylish. Having great basics is SO important. Glad to find someone like you. Made me subscribe after 1 video!
I love your style so much. I appreciate your business professional/casual wardrobes. Plus, you always look so put together even in your casual clothes! Truly an inspiration
essential shoes and bags would be great! i love the format of your videos, how you cut them, the white background, and all the links you provide. it's super great as a reference!
Glad to hear that things are going well for you! Please do a video about dressy shoes that are comfortable for work. I don't wear heels because they hurt and flats aren't comfortable. Or do you already have a video like this?
Me encanta tu estilo super elegante y acertado.todo esta muy bien combinado,al igual la paleta de Colores de todos tus atuendos gracias.Saludos Bogotá Colombia.
Wooo the looks are so fantastic! Its my kind of style not too feminine but also a little bit masculine (tom boyish)! Especially blazer and trouser look. I'll be 22 next year and probably going for interviews! Or being employed!
This is perfect! New viewer here. Glad to see another petite person and your style is just like mine but you've found nicer pieces. I like how articulate you are and the tips you give instead of just posing. Thank you!
This helped me so much. I've always worked a job where I had a uniform and recently I've got a position where I have needed a few business outfits for conferences and stuff every now and then. I was wearing khaki colored jeans and polos because I didn't know what to do!! This video was a godsend and I like that I can use a lot of these items to "adult-up" my every day wardrobe as well. Thanks MissLouie for all of the work you put into this. I've never seen someone else with a description like that and it was awesome!
I so appreciate your thorough and thoughtful vid! Almost 50 and still figuring out my style in the good old boys club workplace. I was in a medical clinic sonalways wore scrubs. Given a choice I would wear phs and jeans. 😊 Hugs!
I finish university in a few months and will be looking for my first professional job (and in a post-COVID job market, no less!). Needless to say, I'm freaking out about what to wear but this video has helped a lot. It may have been posted 2 years ago, but this information is timeless. Thank you so much!
As usual, great video! So many outfits could be put together from those great pieces. Thanks for all the time you put into your videos, they are sooo helpful and I appreciate it!
Just watched your video...really loved it. I would really love to see work and casual attire for pear-shaped bodies. I'm 46, so would love some fashion ideas without looking either inappropriate or dowdy! Take care and, again, really love your advice!
Thank you for being an inspiration to young professional women (I'm no longer one of them, but I so appreciate you putting this out there for them). Wonderful video!
Just discovered this video. I love the dress/skirt options, I'm not a slacks person at all, which kind of a bad thing to some people haha. I love how the idea of business professional changing as someone who is a lot creative and colorful when it comes to clothes.
I needed this video. I have lots of clothes for work but can't find something outside of the 4 outfits I usually wear. Needed these basics. Thank youuuu!
I love this!!!!! I have to dress business professional for my job, and I have all of these basics, but it’s so refreshing to see different mix and match options which then helps me feel less bored when looking at my closet 🙌🏻

Love how classic this video is

Getting back into the workplace after working from home for a few years. This video is so helpful in helping me nail down the right silhouettes and combos. Thank you for your efforts in putting it together.
Hi Louie these are great ideas ...can you please suggest some great footwear to wear in office during winters
Oh yeah winter shoes would be great!
I struggle with all kinds of shoes; yet I always see people wearing different kinds of cute ones with different outfits.
Nude pumps are my go to
Booties or a clean slip on sneaker
I like to invest in a pair of nude and black pumps and brown and black booties for winter.
I love this! I recently lost weight and now I need to start over with my work wardrobe. This is great for a starting point.
I have seen all of your videos. They all are useful. I tried and it is great. Thank you
Thanks so much for breaking it down! Definitely helpful for those of us transitioning into the workforce. Love your videos!
Really don’t understand how you don’t have a million subscribers. You deserve it! As always, great content and so helpful 🤗
This helped me so much! I am starting my senior year of college with almost no professional clothing and had no idea where to start. Thanks!!

Same! Totally agree.
