  • As you can probably tell by how much I hug the bottom of the screen, I'm still pretty new to shmups (started a little over a month ago). The only other thing I cleared was Crimzon Clover novice, so there was a nice increase in difficulty here. Please excuse the weird stutter that happens sometimes. I'm not sure if it's a problem with the replay feature or OBS.
    I don't know how to feel about this run. Overall it was pretty sloppy. Pretty much all the deaths and almost all autobombs very easily avoidable and basically boiled down to me having a big ol' idiot moment. Stage 5 was kind of alright though.
    The reason I picked power style is because I felt strong style would make the run a bit too easy. I'm generally not a fan of the hyper mechanic in this game, so I ended up not using that either. My long term goal is to become at least competent at shmups and while bombing and hypering all my problems away is a good way to get clears, I ultimately have to learn to get better at dodging and reading patterns and I hope challenge runs like this can help. Routing the laser wheels in stage 5 was a great learning experience and would not have happened if I used all the tools in the game.
    I want to do a 2-ALL Omote run of this game at some point. For now though, I will play more Mushihimesama. I'm pretty close to getting a no bomb clear of Original and I want to clear Maniac mode as well. Ketsui is also fucking based but I probably shouldn't switch games too much.
