- Here's a 2-ALL (2周) run of the arcade Strikers 1999 (ストライカーズ1999), otherwise known as Strikers 1945 III outside of Japan. I'm playing using the X-36 secret ship. This is the final game in the Strikers series, and thankfully they went out on a high note with this one.
Highlights of this run include a no miss/no bomb first loop and double tech on the stage 1-7 boss. Lowlights include a pitiful death on 2-2 boss and overuse of bombs on 2-7. This is my current best score but I'm still trying to improve on it, we'll see if that happens.

The simple fact a person can complete a Strikers 1945 loop without losing a life is beyond me. Incredible.

I didn't even know this game existed until lately. I loved the Strikers series. This just makes the series even more interesting.

Pure instinct
This is my favorite game of all time, and one nobody seems to know even exist. Played this countless times in the arcade and I could never reach the skill level seen in this video. Those Technical Bonus moves on bosses is an amazing mechanic and satisfaction of nailing them never gets old. The soundtrack is pretty bomb too. It's too bad I couldn't find a port or console version of the game anywhere. I would love to play this amazing game again.
This game was never ported for consoles. It was also difficult to find in arcades too in contrast to previous Strikers titles.

Idk but I kinda doesn't like how short some stages compared to 1945-ii (sea of clouds) stage...
Also the boss fight song a little down compared to 1945-ii (but better than 1945-i)
Strikers 1999 is ABSOLUTELY AWESOME and STUNNINGLY AMAZING
I can't even tell you how many quarters I sunk into this arcade game as a college student at the Pac Man arcade in Pasadena at 1am in the mornings. Good times and good memories.
Incredible run. 2-ALLing a Psikyo shooter is always very rewarding. Great job, ace pilot !
BTW, it's funny to see nobody dares to face Geo Bite in levels 1-6 and 2-6. I honestly think this boss is beatable in loop 1 , but if you face it in loop 2 you sign your own death warrant !
The thing with Geobite is that not only is he harder, but gives you less points than the other boss. Unless you are a superplayer and can consistently pull off the double tech trick on Geobite, it's just not worth bothering with.

I loved this game but I thought it can get quite hectic with bullets flying and the hectic speed too. I really loved the modern day setting and the space level I believe level 6, was my favorite. The game went from a Capcom style 1940s type gameplay to a scifi space vertical shooter. I learned after playing it several times that you could "beat" the game by just dodging all the enemies and waiting for them to die which I did not like. Hats off to the development team.

Used to play this so much as a kid in my elementary school they had a cabinet of this along with metal slug (can’t remember which one) and I’m at this cowboy ghost town and they have this cabinet here of all places good stuff great memories last thing I would expect to see in the middle of Arizona ❤🎉

PS. Good series, but badly needs a storyline and cutscenes, and a movie adaptation.
Funny how the X-36 fighter used in this video also turns into a mecha when using its special.

Reminds me of a mixture GI. Joe, Robotech, and Star Wars vs Cobra, the Invid, and the Empire.
Only thing missing is the Vic Viper, X-fighter, and Conquest X-30.

do a lot of savestates, memorize when things are going to happen and then figure out safe-spots (like on boss patterns) and times when you can do big damage/kill the boss with the tech. bonus
If there is a big swarm of bullets coming your way, try to do small taps to herd them over to one side of the screen, then rush over to the other side of the screen while the coast is clear. If you get too close to the corner of the screen, you need to move up a little bit to herd the bullets away from the corner, and then try moving out of the corner and repeating the tap-dodge thing.

when you score a technical hit on a boss, is it scored by mere positioning or is there a need to press a button? fantastic run!
The boss will at certain point release a massive attack but just before it makes move it will review a glowing blue orb, you need to go right next to it and score a hit and that is your technical hit and you defeat the boss instantly. However it is much harder to do than said. The enemy bullets will always force you away, you need to anticipate the boss's next move. The time window is short and you only get one chance, so you really should already be lurking near by before the boss begins its move.
Wait so how "technical bonus" works again? I never ever a chance to get technical bonus trick :( teach me sensei.
Shoot the blue orb with the main shot from up close aka if your fighter is within range of the orb.

I didn't know mission 7 boss had a gem! In the android version, I was like waiting for it to reveal it but waited about 2 mins and explode itself wtf!

Press the service button in the board and then choose maintenance code and enter the code using joystick and button.

PEG HOW CAN I GET GEO BITE OR CROSS BLADE IN STAGE 1-6
Right before the boss, if you stay in the middle of the screen, cross blade will show up. If you stay on the far left or far right, then geo bite will show up.

There are three satellite pods before the boss. The one on the center houses Cross Blade while the ones on the left and right house Geo-Bite.

All the Strikers games master the art of the precisely compact shooter, but I’ll still crown the second one for that stored charge shot and the way the bombs work like bullet shields. It’s just the right level of thought out simplicity…visually bland though.

One the countdown expires the boss will explode. The only difference is you don't get any points for killing it.
Gotcha thanks. You are really godlike LOL. I can't even dodge the bullets after first loop stage 3 and stay alive. The difficulty of the original arcade is so unlike the mobile phone version. It is so much harder!

Nope. That's Strikers 1945 II and Plus.
The only plane that has support in this game is just the harrier (the green plane), which calls out b-52 to do the bombing (b-52 carpet bombing), other than that, those b-52, will do nothing else

테크니컬보너스는머임?? 뽀뽀로죽이면뜨는건가??
1-8, 2-8 제외하고 다른 보스들은 중간에 파란색 코어을 드러내는데 이걸 모아쏘기가 아닌 노멀샷으로 치면 보스 처치와 동시에 테크니컬 보너스라고 뜨면서 그냥 죽이는것보다 보너스 점수를 받게 됩니다.

i can remember how i beat the final boss back then. But i cant remember how i was able to dodge those attacks damn
Good memories, it took us many tries just to learn the patterns of the bullets and attack sequences. It was insane I remembered I was almost in a trance state.
