Skjellmose has been riding for stage wins since Lidl-Treks poor TTT. Whereas Mcnulthy and Jorgensen booth has the overall standings to strive for and after todays stages they are in the hotseat to win TA. That how cycling tactics works!
You didn't watch the race obviously. Remco was completely alone. Obviously he couldn't respond to every attack. And then, he was the only one interested in chasing the trio. The real problem for Remco is the team. He doesn't have a single decent domestique while Pogacar, vingegaard, Roglic have at least 3 top domestiques
That's why Remco has to change team. He was completely alone in the last 25 km. All his team disappeared on a 1km climb. He will lose this race because he doesn't have a team
Yeah, it's a dirty win, and it makes him look very bad. Only thing that mitigates it a bit is that he did acknowledge this in the interview afterwards, that he took advantage of the fact the other 2 had a lot to lose, so he stayed in the wheels because of that and sprinted to the win. He lost a lot of my respect though, probably reputation int he peloton as well.
@@JackMott Did your friend understand about long term effects of your reputation in the peloton if other cyclists start to understand you're one of those dirty riders that will pretend to be tired and sit in the wheel to then outsprint you? People who do this always end badly in the long term in the peloton. It's best to lose honorably than win dirty in the long run.
He pulled earlier but the others were going for the race lead. The two Americans fooled around at the end for the days win when they should have kept on drilling it for more time gains.
Why? That would have been stupid. The people who go for the jersey have the responsibility to create the largest gap possible. That is the name of the game.

USA representing.
Folks, its the first race of the season. Let’s not go too far assessing their chances in July…
As what I have seen of Remco so far this year I don't think he can even get in the top 5 of the TdF.
He is doing fine. He is peaking for July, not the first week of March.
still time. Same for Rog too. But let's see. Egan looking better and better too!

Could be right - Roglic looks even worse…
Not even top 12
Primo looks SHOT...SMH
What happened with Rogla?
not looking that sharp compared to Remco, but for me, Skjelmose looks like he could win GC.
Moved from Jumbo

NO..because others are better
did Skjelmose even take a pull in the last few KM?
He knew mcnulty needed to pull hard for the GC

that's tactics, sort of makes it all the more interesting to watch. I don't blame him, it's a gamble, because it also cost him GC time to Remco.
It’s a race!
The real losers were the favorites in the chase group.
Lo noto un punto menos a Primoz. Como que le falta el plus explosivo que lo caracteriza.
skjelmose just sat on then won, how about a pull bro

A win a is a win, but I find it hard to root for a wheel sucker. Good work to the Americans who pulled for 2nd and 3rd.
Canoot say it better !
Watch the race from KM 30 to the finish then. Skjelmose was the one that allowed McNulty to bridge to Jorgenson in the first place :)
Rogla rogla rogla
tbose cyclist names and surnames of cycling make it hard for me to follow cycling
Say this 3 times slowly: Ski-ell-moh-se - then 3 times fast! You got it! :D

Cycling's a good gateway into understanding different countries and cultures, languages and names
