RIP Cindy Morgan, died Dec. 30, 2023. Actress of Dr. Lora Baines and Yori in Tron, and voice of Ma3a in Tron 2.0.

One of my most favorite game ever played in 30 years of gaming

Also you gotta love how this game actually looks like it's inside of a computer instead of a stereotypical futuristic city like Legacy. Yes the ENCOM mainframe in this game looks as futuristic as the Grid, but it actually feels like a different world rather than a cyberpunk future. As much as I love the look of the Grid, this game's depiction of the computer world just wins me over.

Gonna be real with you. I love every version of Tron. Legacy/Evolution look cool to me. Especially Clu's ship, the Rectifier.

Love this game. It fits with the original Tron much better than the Daft Punk music video. Honestly the two can exist in the same universe as they don't cross over too much.

It would honestly be _very_ interesting to see how Jet Bradley and Sam Flynn would interact with each other, especially considering the outcomes of their respective character arcs.
As someone pointed out on TV Tropes, Jet Bradley worked with programs against corrupt users, whereas Sam Flynn worked with users against corrupt programs. The two would have radically different viewpoints about both users and programs and might be diametrically opposed to each other if push came to shove.
Such a story would _basically_ write itself, to be honest. Whether or not it's any good would depend largely on the writer, though.

For the music, it makes sense as the game's OST was partly-done by the original film's composer Wendy Carlos.

    Supremely badass game.
You forgot to mention that Wendy Carlos did the music; it sounds authentic because It is.
Took me awhile to get the balls to try and beat it on the hardest setting but I did it, just gotta spend points properly in order make your weapons (one in particular) work well on the big-bad at the end.
    Can't believe it's 20 years old.
    "Shield-break!"

I beat the game on Hard recently too. Now try doing it on a TV, using a controller and only relying on autosave, like I did. Great experience.

I love seeing this updated version of the first trons style instead of reimagining that legacy did

There are a bunch of areas in the game that wouldn't be out of place in Legacy, in fact there are plot points which are accidentally so close to the sequel film that it completely fits as a second-generation Grid if you consider the Legacy grid to be 3rd or 4th generation

This is very much like Enter The Matrix. We do not enter the "Grid World" but the "The Internet World"

It's way better than Enter The Matrix in comparison. Enter The Matrix execution was a piss poor. I played it on PS2 and I really hated how buggy it was and the coherent campaign all around are a messed..

Tron 2.0, the legit answer and a sequel to Tron 1982 but in a video game forms. So it must play for everyone. Just like Termimator. Terminator 1&2 are the only movie to watch. The rest aren't count. So the answer to Terminator 1&2 are the game stuff that were Terminator 2029, T: Rampage, T: Future Shock, T: SkyNET, T: Dawn of Fate and T: Resistance.

I'm pretty sure Disney doesn't acknowledge this game's existence is due to copyright. Maybe the game's developers own the right to Tron 2.0 and thus, Disney can't do anything with the segment of the franchise. This may also explain why Disney didn't announce this game's unexpected return for steam

    • @caiosilva2167
      @caiosilva2167 Год назад +5

Did you know 2.0 has two sequels ?
The GBA "port" of Killer App actually continues the story and brings back the original Tron as a main character
There's also the Ghost in the Machine comic which continues Jet's story

    • @WildCharger
      @WildCharger 8 месяцев назад +4

Disney doesn't really acknowledge this game's existence because not only was it a strictly licensed game, it happened before Buena Vista was dissolved and reformed into Disney Interactive, made with a story in mind that is incompatible with not only TRON: Legacy, but likely the upcoming TRON film as well. And when you already have a franchise that struggles to break even, the last thing you want to do is reference parts of that franchise that might confuse people.
Speaking strictly from a business perspective here. Luckily, Monolith was more than happy to acknowledge TRON 2.0's existence during an anniversary celebration a couple years ago, so that counts well enough.

you sound younger than me, and im glad you like this game. i loved the movie when i was a kid (and i still love the movie) and when this game came out i was reading a 'on the front cover' edition of i believe maximum pc* and the game was cannon until the sequel movie came out and wedged the game out of the cannon. i think its one of many great games from monolith
*miss this magazine (magazines in general)

Thank you so much für this video. I just love the game and I've played it many times by now and I like it still so much... I think this game is the only true sequel to the original movie!!! The design and al the Ideas are spot on perfekt. It's just so sad, thad disney considers it non canon ... a Shame!!! The Soundtrack is also absolutely great.
Thanks again, for not letting this MASTERPIECE getting lost in time!!! :-)

tron can be revived as online game
where players interactions and actions impact the system both from inside and outside like a whole network
the idea is very complicated but since disney is a problem it will never come to life
there tons of games where they calculate players actions like example deep rock galactic where theres background information like how many players mined combined trough the whole year
but what if tron could take this concept and go deeper with it where a safe system can become infected or secured where free roam is limited and people can cooperate to free a sector and a offline or empty system or sector be dark and lifeless
horror even where the player has to revive it and it opens for every other player
the technology is basically already exist where players can interact with the game itself
a game where combat exploration and resource management inpacts the world
