Thats odd, dragon shields are known for not splitting. Did the formula change?
Not sure if a direct formula has changed. Even with the small issues we found, all we can say is that we almost exclusively sleeve with dragon shield matts and have been nothing but satisfied by their performance (and we aren't sponsored or paid for that opinion).
they will never break with regular suffling
@@djangomaxfield During this time, many people had exactly that happen. Dragon Shield offered large refunds for entire boxes of sleeves splitting in regular shuffling.
The product seems to have improved again, getting back to their standard of quality.
Thank you so much, this is the best review for the Dragon Shield Matte sleeves I've seen because everything said here perfectly matched with the problems I had with this sleeve: its opacity and pointy edges.
People keep saying that DS matte are the very best on the market, but as I can agree in some terms, it didn't satisfy me in every way.
Much appreciated. We aim to be honest with our opinions and have no obligation to be anything else. Our reviews don't cover every sleeve in the world, but hopefully help in your future decisions :)
I think shoving 7 cards into one sleeve and calling it a poor performance when it splits is just stupid to me. The sleeve is meant to hold 1 card at once. Not 2, not 5, not 7 lol. Thanks for the review tho, I enjoyed the video. It was just this one thing that triggered me.
It's hard to argue with that. It is certainly not scientific in terms of relevant tests to demonstrate a sleeves usage. However it is a fairly equal visual and practical representation of seam strength. Plus it's kind of fun.
Good review thanks
Your welcome. We do our best!
Everybody do the shuffle 💃🕺🏼
Hi! I wanna ask you something about Dragon Shield Matte sleeves in the Night Blue color. Are they fully opaque? I would need to know if it's safe to use them while playing with these new pathway lands from Zendikar Rising and Kaldheim. Thank you!
Although we do not have this exact colour to hand, it has only been the lightest colours (white and yellow) that have given us any cause for concern. We would be confident that a colour as dark as blue would be opaque.
If you are looking to enter a strict tournament then we would be happy to use these.
@@DoubleSleeved thank you!
Whys everyone hating in the comments haha this is a good review
Have you encountered any unique issues with the metallic matte sleeves compared to the normal mattes, or are they pretty much identical in performance?
By metallic which do you mean? Gold and silver sleeve for instance offer no difference, but you can often notice variation in opacity in the colours. Dragon shield to us have been very consistent in general though.
@@DoubleSleeved Thanks, yea, I was thinking of the gold matte sleeves.
I've also been looking at the dual matte sleeves from Dragon Shield. Have you had experience with those, and if so, how do they hold up against normal DS mattes?
Not yet. We will be going again with more reviews soon, so these should feature, we have seen real changes in sleeves when manufacturers alter one thing, so would hate to say it'll be fine.
@@DoubleSleeved Alright, cool to hear. I might try ordering a box each of mattes and dual mattes. If nothing else, they're still Dragon Shield, so they ought to be at least decent quality. Cheers!
Wow very nice test
Thank you. We do our best to make informative content for everyone!
Good thank you
Your welcome. Are there any other products you want to see a review of?
@@DoubleSleeved I have one question. I would like to ask if the Drago Shield Matte Black gives off any glare with foils. I would like a clean less glared sleeve but still have the sort of shine. Sometimes I find my foils to be way too shiny and glared in light during gameplay so does this sleeve help with that?
hello I follow you from Italy. I was looking for a sleeve that could highlight my full Foil deck. What do you advise? dragonshield with perfect size? I can't choose!
That's great to hear! It's fab to have you along!
I too have a foil deck. I use the dragon shield perfect fits and the dragon shield matts. Amazing feel and really great protection 😊
@@DoubleSleeved thanks man :) my doubt was between dragonshield and katana because I saw that they gave a good effect even without the perfect one. but I will try to follow your advice :)
Don't get me wrong. Katana's are my favourite single sleeves. I struggle to double sleeve with them and wouldn't risk damaging the cards in the process!
Great review! Which inner sleeves did you use?
For this review we used KMC perfect fits. These were our go to inners, we now find dragon shield inners to be on par if not slightly snugger and secure.
And thank you! 😁
@@DoubleSleeved thanks a lot for the tip, I guess i'll try both Dragon Shield products. Cheers!! +1 subscribed
thank you!!!
You're welcome! I hope it helps in your purchasing decision
@@DoubleSleeved Hello! I'm planning to buy the non-glare Dragon Shield Matte BLACK ones. I'm using them to sleeve up my favorite Magic commander deck. Will they have any issues in curling the cards or dust buildup?
We have the majority of our commander decks in dragon shields. If curling and dust are a key concern for longer term storage then ensure the cards are kept in an appropriate storage container, kept secured together or flat.
Unfortunately many factors affect foils curling for instance, like humidity etc. But double sleeving and deck boxing should suffice for most people.
@@DoubleSleeved Ok thanks!
@@DoubleSleeved K, I am back. I would like to ask if the Drago Shield Black Mattes give off any glare from foils. I kind of find that annoying sometimes. Like, I would still like to have the effects of the foil, but not as glared in bright light during play.
Hi I am a collector, I collect. Pokémon,Basketball, and Tru creator cards. What sleeves do you recommend price is not a problem.
Hello! I can only talk for Pokémon, depending on dimensions of basketball and Tru cards your choices may vary.
At this moment in time, if you want an outer sleeve with no inner sleeve, ultimate guard katanas are brilliant.
If you want an inner and outer, for extra protection and thickness, dragon shield Matt or ultra Pro eclipse are top (dragon shield is a thicker sleeve with more texture).
Inner sleeves are largely comparable at this point, so dragon shield, ultra Pro, ultimate guard or kmc perfect fits are all good choices.
I hope this helps.
@@DoubleSleeved yeah this helps a lot. Tru creator cards are new btw that’s why you may not know about them. Do you recommend any brand to buy good quality trading card mats that are like a good size.
This is something we are yet to properly review. We have many of differing quality from many suppliers. At this point it would be hard to say where the best came from. We are regular replacers of mats based on mood and humourous imagery. Stitched has its benefits on longevity but art can look better without stitching. Without a detailed analysis I would buy the art you like from any of the big 3 (dragon shield, ultra Pro and ultimate guard). If you are adventurous try others, but results can vary.
@@DoubleSleeved I order ultimate guard so seems like I already made a good decision. Thx
Who would put 7 cards in one sleeve...
Fools. That's who. It lacks any real scientific reasoning, but we felt it would be a fun thing to do.
I was about to comment this too 😂
lol is it just me? Who the fuck pulls them apart like that for a stretch test
It's not just you. We never claim our tests are good 😅
I cant afford these 🐌🐎🐡
That's ok. Gamegenic do cheaper sleeves that are pretty good 😊
Junk sleeves
We do need to refresh our review. They don't dominate the same way anymore
Lol this review sucks
Lol
