i am always attracted to samples 😂 and ma‘am, even if i don’t buy right away, that not because your product sucked! it could be that i just don’t need a cake today, but i will keep you in my mind for when i do! i once came back 8 months later to purchase something that i had a sample of 😊 so please keep that in mind and don’t think you „wasted“ a sample. if it’s good, we‘ll come back and maybe even recommend you to friends and family!
I tried samples of fudge at a booth when I visited family a couple states north, I didn’t have cash to buy any at the time but I raved to my family about it, and sure enough they’re still loyal customers to that sweet lady’s confectionery business!
Most of the time my husband and I don’t bring any money when we first go to a new market. We try all the samples and look over everything. We get cards and take pics of what we like. Then we budget that cash for next time we go and buy everything.
When I first opened my restaurant 20 years ago my uncle told me instead of giving a free sandwich on the first day that we should charge $1. We had a line wrapped around the block. It wasn't about the $1. He told me customers not willing to pay $1 are only there for freebies. Sometimes it's about the type of people you attract to your business. Good luck with your business. Those pastries looked amazing.
Great tip! A dollar was a low enough investment that someone who was genuinely curious about trying your food wouldn't've been put off by "wasting a dollar" if they didn't like it.
A sandwich is different than a bite size piece of cake though. I would pay a dollar for a full sandwich, I will not pay a dollar for a small cube of cake. Charging less than a dollar makes them have to deal with change which people also don't want to do and it's not worth running a card for less than a dollar. What works for your business doesn't automatically apply to other people
@@ByDaniSimoneI feel like the best equivalent of samples for you would be either paper coupons for a free fitting, swatches of fabric, a mannequin with a beautiful gown, or a gallery of your portfolio. @@TheStationBakery I bought fudge from a great privately owned online company. They had different kinds of fudge I had never tried before but they looked interesting. That's fantastic! Congratulations on your Farmers Market stand! Samples have always been a great way to introduce customers to new flavors they might have been hesitant to order beforehand. The TIMING that this video came to my feed was nothing short of GOD. This is the push I needed to get my cheesecakes out there :) wishing you all the success!!
And too you! may I suggest a flavor? My neighbor made me one for my birthday every year is a mint chocolate chip cheesecake and when I say it is to die for... Mint chocolate chip ice cream is still a big seller so you know there's a market. You don't even really have to advertise the color gives it away. But either way best of everything in your endeavors. And play with themes themes are fun you can do it for anything bachelorette parties and birthdays even for kids.. SpongeBob cheesecake. I don't know why that's funny to me. I'm sorry I'm going to go away. Hope you smiled at least once. 😊
I love how your display is compact and inviting and looks like you can transport it without too much difficulty. Would love to see more of your process of labelling, containers, transferring and set up. And variety of cakes and uniformity in packaging.
If I enjoy a product and there’s samples I usually tend to make a purchase even if I hadn’t planned to. I be grateful for them thinking of me and I want to be support their generosity and business.
I love when businesses offer samples ❤ it shows the effort to go above and beyond to put your name out there and allow the customer to come to you if they like the product which makes it less weird and forced. I have met some great business people at expos and popups just from them handing me a business card and sample and 9 times out of 10 when i get home and actually try the product Im on the website looking to buy more and telling people word of mouth to support your business.
👌 I'd love a video on how you prepared for and setup your first farmers market ☺️ what was on your menu, did you only accept electronic payment, how did you store your baked goods or did you put everything out at once. I'm wanting to try it myself but... 😅

"Here's what I learned from doing it scared" .. I truly love this.
❤️❤️❤️
Oh my gosh, I LOVE that you have them in enclosed containers!!! I avoid samples because of all the germs but what you're doing is totally genius! The cakes look delicious as well
Think of all the wasted plastic though! I hope they're reused :/
@@chriszardis8543 SO many things use plastic, a farmers market is a drop in the proverbial bucket. Look at GROCERY STORES. Everything around your house Sometimes there aren't practical alternatives. And manufacturers are coming up with better, greener products, better ways to recycle. We have to live, we can't go back to the cavemen days.
I would hope folks are mindful about recycling as well!
That's fantastic! Congratulations on your Farmers Market stand! Samples have always been a great way to introduce customers to new flavors they might have been hesitant to order beforehand. There have been numerous times before long before COVID that I've bought an item at a coffee shop when I was just there for coffee because samples can also encourage up sales after the customers got a taste of something positive that they enjoyed. It's also great that you're providing covered individual samples over open samples! Good luck on your business and hope your sales stay consistent and grow in the future!
What a wonderful business woman. Love her spirit. Betting her business is thriving. ❤️
Samples are a trick of the enemy!
if I try… I buy 😂
Your samples look delectable🩶
Samples do get me though. I am one of those "I was gonna buy cake but look, a snackie." And then I get two cakes.
Also cakes are hella freezer friendly.
I LOVE passing out samples it’s like a guaranteed buyer! Also loving your channel so inspiring 😊
And you table was so impeccably adorned. A gorgeous table will attract customers for sure.
do it! I like creamy cheesecake. Something small for dinner for 2 that night too, it doesn't have to be huge.
sammmee!!!
@@JinxdOne I smiled multiple times. Hope all is well with you and your cheesecake biz.💕💗
Girl, I don’t even like cake, but this little video makes me wanna come and support you 50000 percent. Also, I love the beautiful mark on your face.
Great strategy!!! And great on you for not being scared and knowing you got good products.
I always love it when they have samples so I know what food items I really want to get. It’s hard to know other wise.
I love how your display is compact and inviting and looks like you can transport it without too much difficulty. Would love to see more of your process of labelling, containers, transferring and set up. And variety of cakes and uniformity in packaging.
The friendly and inviting bit gets me to more tables at farmers markets. Your cakes look delicious!
If I enjoy a product and there’s samples I usually tend to make a purchase even if I hadn’t planned to.
I be grateful for them thinking of me and I want to be support their generosity and business.
I so wish I could eat food! Those look absolutely delish!!!! I also really love the presentation of your business table. Such a great vibe!!!!!!!
Me too😊 I second that🤚
I cant even tell you the amount of times I've bought a product that i normally wouldnt have even tried, just because i got a sample that I loved. Actually most of the smaller business that im loyal to are tjingsnthst inwas buying from mass-produced/big businesses, then inswitched after loving a sample, and never looked back. Even in the summer, I frequent further away farmers markets because I know rhe "cookie lady" or the "older couple that make cheeses" or the "beef jerkey family" will be there. Samples absolutely work!
The samples look so good 👀
Yes i agree people like something that looks professional. but the😢y always want to taste it to. Good for you i learn so much from you keep up the amazing videos.
❤️❤️❤️
They look sooo good!
That's a great idea and very encouraging for customers.
Samples are great. Even if I don't buy right there, I'd be thinking about it throughout the week.
So true!!
Sampling is SO effective that companies hire independent contractors just to pass out samples in stores, I supported myself doing it for years.
I like how she says to be friendly and inviting and not being weird hahaha. I would definitely buy a bunch of goodies from her.❤
You can tell those cake are delicious just looking at them and the presentation was beautiful
Absolutely love the way you prepackaged the samples. 💜
Thank you for helping others❤
Happy to share
Heavy on the “ I’M NOT A ONE HIT WONDER “ baby it’s THE CONFIDENCE FOR ME !!!🥰🥰🥰
This is awesome. I love seeing people grow their own business like this.
