Two questions: 1. are these shoes really flexible (can you fold them up)? 2. Is the rocker noticeable? I am looking for a 3mm drop shoes with an overall low stack that does NOT have a rocker. I, unfortunately, do not live close enough to anywhere that sells these shoes in store. Thank you in advance, for your feedback.

These shoes are somewhat flexible, but they aren't like a barefoot shoe that can be entirely rolled up. I'm not sure if it "doesn't" have a rocker. It's very much like a "traditional" running shoe, but a stripped down version. I hope that helps? Fyi, if you buy them, be aware that the color of the shoe will bleed into your white socks a little bit.

I lost my Dad, two years ago. Cool, that yours still checks in in you…Cherish that while you’ve got it. I’m a mid-60s male, retired military and retired LEO….both careers required me maintaining fitness standards. When I retired, staying active, I adopted the “zero drop, wide toe box” philosophy, while training for the Appalachian Trail (Altra was my chosen brand). Fast forward ….I failed at my AT Thru Hike, as an old Navy aircraft back injury caused some issues, that my doctor said was exacerbated by the “zero drop” shoes. Still, I stuck with it….now I hike in Lems (very slight drop), and the Altra Solstice XT (again, slight drop). So I get where you are coming from. On those days that I anticipate experiencing pain (you know, those days when you just aren’t “feeling it”!!), I insert a better insole. I just ordered some XeroHFS (on sale)…..couldn’t resist the sale….and I’ll just insert my own insole. And why oh why oh why….doesn’t EVERY shoe brand implement the “wide toe box” on their shoe, regardless of zero drop? Why ask why, I guess….it’s these kinds of questions that make me appreciate a few ounces of bourbon, when appropriate! Great Topo review, amigo…Bravo-Zulu, we’ll done, sir!

CaptainCoyote...thanks for watching and I do definitely cherish my dad being around and even "interrupting" my YT videos 🤣. We like to joke with each other too, so putting a "reenactment" of his phone call to me in the video was fun. I also understand your barefoot journey. I'm digging these Top Fli-Lyte 4s so far and will see how the next few months go!

You might try St-5 if you are ready to go back to zero drop. May be a running shoes for very few but it’s great minimal thin shoe for gym and other stuff, ideal to strenghten your feet.

Great video. I loved these shoes at first but I find them irritating to walk in. Like I can only move in a run. I almost feel an emptiness in the arch. I guess they’re just not holding me right. I might switch out the insole now that I’ve watched this. I had also used them as a back step from barefoot. Im feeling a lot of foot pain and feeling a shortness in my hamstrings and calves after being used to 13 mm drops. I got some awesome advice and reassurance from you. Thanks !

I hear you, it sounds like you're finding out how much your feet are used to being cushioned! I'm now wearing the Hoka Clifton 9s and will probably buy a second pair.

I’m a Gen-Xer and have always pursued running for fitness and personal enjoyment. I never thought I would find a running shoe better than Saucony or New Balance. Surprise! Surprise! Surprise! First pair I bought was the Phantom. Now I’m running in the Magnifly. There’s no better shoe than for running than Topo.

Nice video & gl on the recovery.
I have to heal up too just from overtraining, not recovering, having a few stupid/obvious fails both in and out of training, but I’ve already been out of shoes for 15 months, so I’ll just recover normally without shoes bc I’m just sore and I have to try to limit physical activity to just walking and biking for transportation without going rough on it.
Even if I just put on some Vibrams, Freets, or Xero Shoes with an ankle elastic if my ankles are feeling sore and my skin is done for some time or I add the insole if my foot is a bit sore, I’ll still weaken my skin (like if it’s just one part of my skin that I messed up somehow like from the metal border btwn grass/path and stepping on it weirdly or a blood blister from pulling down my sandal strap wrongly and stepping on the hard part, I could just put on a bandage).

Thanks Nabranes. I hope you recover quickly. It has taken me quite a while to recover and I learned that being patient was key.

@@FitnessFinance4u Thanks you too. I mean like I did just skateboard yesterday and it was good bc I made more progress and fixed my mistake that made me fall (unrelated to my ankle) last week, but I think I was kind of sore after, so I stretched and then stopped. I haven’t really been doing much running/parkour either, but I did do a bit of running yesterday to catch up with my friends when they were going to get food at the dining hall from the dorm (I’m in college), but I felt okay, so I think it is recovering and I just won’t do full activity for some time.
And the slight cuts are healing plus I keep on putting on bandages so I can toughen up/use/feel with the rest of my feet and I don’t have to wear shoes.

Don't forget to say, that the flylite has also a cushioning midsole with a stack height of 23/20 mm... not only a drop...

@@FitnessFinance4u by the way: thanx for the video! I was unsure, if the flylite 4 is an option for me, because of some negative reviews... i got the flylite 2 and 3, but now i think i will try the version 4 too!!!

How are the Topo's working out for you? Did you try any other models? Thanks!

    • @FitnessFinance4u
      @FitnessFinance4u  Год назад +2

I like them, but I haven’t tried any other models. The only thing I don’t like about them is the dye from the shoes bleeds to your socks and you can’t get the blue out from your socks. So, an upgrade is needed in their shoe dye.

Try the Magniflye from Topo. Zero drop, medium cushion. I have a Morton’s neuroma in my left foot, tried Altra, on cloud, Kuru, but the minute I put the Topos on, I knew I had found the right shoe for me. I don’t even need an orthotic with these.

I was going to get the Ultrafly for some stability and arch support, does the magnifly have this too as you don't need your orthotic?

Todd, not yet. I usually don’t do follow up reviews unless I have at least 10K views on a video. I can tell you I like them a lot so far!

Hi, another 6 months on and how do you like them? It’s uncanny. I did the same thing as you re going too hard in the barefoot shoes and cooked my Achilles. Be interesting to hear more about your journey to recovery.

I only do 6 month reviews if my first review gets over 10K veiws. But, I still wear them, and still like them. They are holding up well.

I could, but the dye in the shoes turns my socks blue. I got rid of them in the end.

Christine...I was a bit confused by your comment. Did you not like it when I do a history of the product I am reviewing? Trying to make my videos better so constructive criticism is always good. Cheers.
