The beacn studio review is when I found you and subscribed. The downward expander is the only reason I was looking at it. Because of your video I realized I could achieve similar results with a stream deck plus and wavelink.
I was interested in the beacon studio, and am even fine with the secret noise gate, but the review made me dig a little deeper and I've found a lot of people complaining about experiencing issues after every update, and a few either faulty devices or ones that have stopped working not long after getting it. If everything worked as advertised, and there was less complaints about build quality and bugs after updates, I would get it. But now planning to get the RØDECaster Duo instead.
If the Zoom essentials had been a small spec downgrade but a big UI upgrade from the old models, portending upgraded full models as well, that might have been fair enough. But nope. Happy New Year

I watched many, many reviews of the Beacn products, including all of yours, before purchasing one. I decided to try a Beacn Mic and Mix Create anyway ONLY because I really wanted to use their software with 4 different sub-mixes. I was extremely disappointed in the sound of the microphone, even after EQ, and returned both products. It was a huge downgrade from an AT2040 USB, and nobody likes that mic either.

The danger of all these Johnny-come-lately products is they aren't really audio companies with long hoistories. They (most likely) don't develop their products, but instead buy pff-the-shelf parts and put them in a bespoke housing. Anyway, keep giving 'em hell.

most audio products over-promises so much these days, we need to expose the shortcomings of these trash products. It's our duty.
