Was engaged for 5 years. But we both paid all of our individual debt off as well as the mortgage on one house and half of a 15-year mortgage on a vacation home. We were totally debt-free within 7 years later and ready for early retirement.
Umm, you could have done that while married.
Last lol that’s dumb
Smart
No point in being engaged if you’re not married within 18 months…MAX!
It can be longer or shorter than 2 years. It depends. Marriage is not something to be rushed into at all. It totally changes the course of your life.
Then why get engaged?
I think 12 months being engaged is the most of amount of time before I would have to move on.
Y’all notice how Stephen A changes his voice when talking about women and relationships 😂😂
Steven A. you do have a point!! and you are crazy!! you always crack me up!💯💯😂
Stefan a smith, I used to hate you as a youngster but I’m 30 now and since I was 25 I’ve been tuned in I LOVE THIS SHOW. I watch it all the time
Dude I’m not even a sports fan, but I freakn LOOOOOOOVE you man!! You speak the truth ❤
You’ve got a new fan sir 👍
2 years is way too long for an engagement. My wife and I were engaged for 13 months and that was too long (we only did it because I was still in school). Commit or keep it moving.
W bro
Maybe they don’t have the funds for a wedding
@@OffTopicKamah You don’t need lots of funds to get married. If you truly want to get married, do it low key and then once you’ve saved up enough you can have a big celebration.
@@kengy1991 ehh that’s for some.. for me.. I want a big celebration..
Not for everyone, it depends on the couple.
Chuck is right! This is the new topic for Black women now that Deion Sanders and Tracy Edmonds were together for 12 years and engaged for 4 years! She posted on her IG that she chose herself and she was tired of being second! He is committed to his mother, kids and coaching career! I wished she had listened to her mother years ago when she saw through Deion on his television show. He’s a narcissist and both of his former wives experienced similar things during the marriage
I agree with Chuck! A man knows what he wants literally after 1 month!! 2 years is the max if you want marriage! Anything else past that time is on you and the consequences, too!! The key is courtship! Grown adults discuss what they want! If that's what you want, say it! If not, move on! Don't waste time with anybody!
As a man I disagree. I very much wanted to be with my ex-gf & for the first year of the relationship I planned to get her a ring & propose. At the time I started to consider buying the ring (around 14-16 months into the relationship) I started having doubts. We moved in together after about 4-months of talking & 3-months of dating, as it was advantageous for both of us. That type of merger caused arguments but I felt in the beginning that was natural as we were two completely different people from different backgrounds & different sexes now living together, so it would obviously take time. Around the time I was thinking about ring shopping, I started to realize the arguments hadn't subsided & it felt we were drifting further apart from how we saw our path to be in lifestyle. We just weren't seeing eye to eye any better than the initial year period & were getting worse. So I fell back from ring shopping to see what happened & sure enough, we continued to pull apart until it was clear to me that we were not the right people for each other. We both had similar goals, we both wanted to be committed & married, we had similar ideas of a life path for ourselves but we were not the right people for each other. Everyone's timing is different. I think it also depends on at what period in life the person is in. Women mature faster & look at large scale life aspects sooner than men because of fertility ranges. Men don't have the proverbial biological clock.
One month is not even near enough time to know someone. You are crazy
For most people I would say no more than one year. If its longer then whats the point?
What if you proposed to a woman she said yes, but now she's dragging her feet on getting married
Agreed

2 yrs not long depending on how long you being going out
Great topic/convo because I’m at that age where i should be married/engaged but it’s a crazy world
18 months (1.5 years) MAX. Otherwise you shouldn't have gotten engaged......
Stephen A coming at us with another great topic! I'm of the mindset that no one person controls that particular part of the relationship. You both come to an agreement and go from there, if the other person doesn't hold up their part then move on. I'm of a particular age so I wouldn't want to be a girlfriend or fiance FOREVER! For me, it just doesn't feel right! I was raised by an outstanding mother & father duo and they raised me to be a good WIFE - not girlfriend or forever fiance!
Yep, that is all true. Thanks, Stephen A. 🎉🎉
I totally agree 2yrs max
Know they're the one after 2 years? If they're not the one don't propose. 0:31
Preach Stephen a!!
PREACH STEPHEN A PREACH
marriage laws are not designed for men barkley will never know what real love is unless its from basketball
Good topic bruh!
Who cares, it doesn't matter. I got married after 11 months because my finances were good.
So it's been almost a month and still zero updates about Josh giddey.
We can be fwbs. I don't know about this ring business..them days are over
i heard gas 0:33 Two years is the max 💨💨💨
I honestly think someone should date someone one year before committing, then I would say another year to figure out if they want to marry.
Does sas even like women.
With the status SAS has, he a player. But he also not stupid to not know the game is rigged so that's why he doesn't marry the hoes, but boy I'm sure this mofo has a collection coochie trophies in his house.
Yes ..😂😂😂Black Queens precisely 😅😅
Pause on the thumbnail 😂😂😂
Stephen A Smith in some of these vlogs on his channel has been channeling the spirit / ghost of Kevin Samuels. Let em know Unc!
Riiiiiiight?
Slick! What the hell.
6 months is the max if you have not gotten married in this time then why are you engaged for. You get engaged to get married.
But there is no benefits for a man to get married❤❤ Tell me I am lying!
According to the Bible men was married through sex Adam and Eve had sex and was married
There’s plenty benefits if you’re not selfish jerk off thinking the marriage is just about you hmm dude 1 you outed yourself and 2 u should go back and retake the trolling course because obvious you were asleep during the first 1 😂😂😂😂 or bump your head causing a concussion so didn’t learn a darn thing 😂😂😂😂😂
Not true
Yes there are, sure it's less than women's benefits, but one obvious example is larger tax refunds work out well for married men vs single men. I mean if there were no benefits at all, no men today would be getting married. I'm aware less men are marrying, but the point is marriages are still happening.
Ur lying 🤥
✊ CHUUCCH ✊
My best friend and his fiancé have been engaged since 2020 lol
Why haven’t y’all married yet?
❤
Terrible
You all know this fool is playing you right? Haha! He is an ACTOR! Go ahead though. He tries to portray this tough guy but he's a phony.
Barkley never shows his wife so why would anyone take his advice 😂😂
Because she doesn't want to be in the limelight.
@@tedwilliams185 have you talked to her ? If she didn’t tell you that personally how could you possibly know that
@@deesee2051 It's called common sense. She doesn't. With social media, do you think someone could hide someone they have been married to for 40 years? Think before you speak.
@@tedwilliams185 well he hasn’t been married for 40 years that’s the 2nd thing you just totally made up can’t chat with ppl like you ✌🏾
@@deesee2051 😂😂😂 that's your best comeback. Ok he has been married 25 years.🤡
