Rouxinol R-30 Strings would sound great along w/ Power Pins.

I’ve been meaning to replace the pins on my old Washburn D-10N. I’ll check out the power pins!

I just bought my First Act guitar at Goodwill yesterday for $35. I’m glad to finally see a positive review on this guitar brands I had been seeing a lot of negative reviews. I have a ukulele and I wanted a guitar to transition to. Thanks for the great review.

Yeah First Act is an easy target for a lot of people, but they’re just as capable as other guitars! It’s funny too because they’re probably the cheapest way to get guitars with rosewood nowadays too. Hope you’re liking yours and thanks for watching!

I have the same guitar and I’d say go with Martian them mediums they hold tune and are super easy to learn to play with

Martin strings are great! I’ve been using their Darco brand on my electrics lately. Cheap and reliable!

Good ear! One of the most fun acoustic parts to play in my opinion. Thanks for watching!

Great video Sunny! I play drums primarily but dabble a bit with guitars and I've had a first act for 5 years now. Love the sound and the feel of these 3/4 guitars. Highly underrated. For the money as a "first" or travel guitar, you simply can't beat em!

You’re right, they really can’t be beat. Being able to find durable and playable guitars between $50 and $100 is incredible! Especially not in a post-CITES regulated world where entry-level guitars typically have rosewood alternatives. It’s interesting that as the quality of entry level electrics has gone up over the last 10 years, that of acoustics has gone down. The $100 acoustic has practically disappeared.
Thanks a lot for watching and subscribing Jeff I really appreciate it!

No problem! I'm looking forward to seeing some other videos of yours in the future. It's funny how just a random simple video can inspire someone (in this case to buy another first act guitar) to make a very important and meaningful decision. Thanks for the help:)

You bought another one because of this video?! I’m very honored if this inspired that purchase in even the smallest of ways!
I hope you enjoy some of my future videos as well! I really enjoy making them and your comment brings it full circle by keeping me inspired to make more. Thanks a lot. And I hope the new First Act treats you well!

I have this same model. Owned for around 13 years as well. Sounds great with 12's on it. Low action. Play it more often than my other acoustics.

I can believe it! It sounds and plays wonderfully.
For me, I’ve always gravitated towards “cheaper” acoustics. I just prefer the sound. I think it’s because they don’t have that upper-midrange “scratchiness” that high-end acoustics have. At least the ones I’ve played.

good review and nice save... just got a used First Act Mg 412 full size acoustic... it's not too shabby...
still needs new strings and maybe a little lower action... but for 45$ used... it'll be a great knock around guitar. :)

Nice! That’s a great deal you got. I’ve never actually had to lower the action on an acoustic but it seems easy enough. So for $45 that’s a steal!
Knock around guitars are the sleepers of the arsenal in my opinion. They’re the ones that are leaning against the wall, put in the car for a business or leisure trip, or taken out by the fire… The less I worry about it’s physical condition - the more I play. The more I play - the happier I am!
Thanks for watching and sharing the story of your new one!

@@sunnyhaair Thanks for the reply... about the action... I feel it could come down a good bit with out hurting or causing any buzz... to do this, when I ( hopefully soon ) replace the strings I will remove the bridge saddle and just sand the underside of it a little at a time... and if I do sand too much I can always just cut an old credit card thin strip to act as a shimm to raise it if need be. But yeah, so far this thing sounds as good as my Fender. I look at guitars as tools and meant to be used. I have never gotten a guitar for "collecting" so the cosmetics aren't really a thing for me. My Fender actually survived a bar fight where it got tossed across the room... took some dings and gouges but it's sturdy and plays fine. :)
