CORRECTION: Please forgive my blunder during one of the last sentences of the episode, as I embarrassingly state that Peter Pan is the only original dark ride fantasyland attraction to appear in all “5 main theme parks”, but I somehow missed Hong Kong, as it doesn’t feature a version of the attraction.

I go to Disney about once a year with my mother (we dont live too far from LA and both seem to have business that brings us to Anaheim yearly anyways so its become a nice tradition). For the first few years I always resisted Peter Pan because the line was always ridiculously long for a dark ride. We didnt go for a few years because I moved to London for school. When I came back it had been nearly a year since I'd been to England and was missing it bad. We were at Disney and the line for once wasnt so bad so my mother told me to go on it while she went back to the hotel. I had no idea what the ride was like on the inside. As soon as we got to the flight over London I burst into tears. That thing is realistic enough I was able to figure out my neighborhood easily. Now thats one of my favorite rides in the park, and I like to go on it at least once by myself and look at the city that was once my home from above.
Good video, you made me nostalgic for one of my favorite Disney memories.

This is what Walt liked about the themed park experience. Unlike a film, once it's made, it CAN'T be changed. He could always go back and "plus" or change the ride experience through new technology & a bigger budget.Storytelling would "always" be the key however. Money was always a "fight" with Walt, but he always knew If you spent the money, there would be a return and the guests, movie goers, and TV audience would follow and stay loyal to you. Peter Pan is a fan favorite of mine. I've learned that If I want to ride it, get on it first thing. Then Mad Tea Party & Alice. These are lower capacity rides and the queues fill up quickly. Great video as always of a great ride.

Peter Pan's Flight is the best Disney dark ride. Nothing else even comes close, it's so beautiful and the fact that you fly just makes the experience majestic. I don't know why the concept of a flying dark ride hasn't been reused because it's truly incredible and it can't be that hard to pull off since the technology to build it existed in the 50s.

The music and timing. I was crying happy tears, thanking the cast member, and she told me to ave a seat, and enjoy, sending me through once again. I cried even more! In the moment, it was so kind, but in light of lockdowns, it was even more. I likely won’t make it back as planned. But that extra few moments flying are mine forever!

I went to Disney World like 2 months ago, Peter Pan is my absolute favorite attraction, I found out early on that it would be closed for the whole week I was going to be there, my mom found out a week before that it would be open on the first day of our vacation, I already used up my fast passes for EPCOT world showcase that day, but I had park hopper and I was determined. We did rope drop since we could not get a fast pass, so we ran right to Peter Pan as soon as the park opened and only had to wait 15 minutes for it, shortest wait time I will ever have for that ride. It was magical, I was disneybounding as Peter that day actually.

Unpopular opinion: They should make a Neverland land in Magic Kingdom where the ride gets relocated to, but they'll be 2 clone peterpan rides sharing one queue (so that the original elements of the ride stay the same but the wait time gets cut in half) and they can add a pixie hollow and tinkerbelle flying coaster like manta that gives you the chance to fly over neverland as tink! I've been wanting a neverland land for so long!

I haven’t been to the park since 2010 I think, and it seems like everything is brand new and changed from what I remember. It’s a long time from when I was a little boy in the early 60’s when my grandpa used to take me to the park at least once a month. Back in those days from what I recall the entry fee was very low as you purchased tickets separately and we used to go just to have popcorn and ice cream and watch the parade. Such happy memories. That old fantasyland was really cheap and tacky now that I look back on it but I always loved the Peter Pan flight and you could reach out and touch some of the buildings while flying over London, in at least some version.

I was lucky enough to go to Florida twice as a kid, I was 6 the first time and 8 the second time (2002 and then in 2004). I'm autistic so the first time i went to Disneyland, I had a meltdown because of how overwhelmed I was by everything around me, it was just a big sensory overload... I also suffered really badly from masklophobia too (which I have seen alot of Disney video's on here about that lately).I remember going on the Peter Pan ride and automatically being at peace and in awe of what was going on around me, i loved every minute of it.
For me, it was the colours, the attention to detail and just the magical elements of the ride...it's definitely unique. Peter Pan was my favourite ride i went on back then and went on it numerous times when we visited. I'm sure if i went back now as an adult lol my tastes would be a little different but ill never forget how much it calmed me down and how beautiful it was.
Disney can mean alot of different things to many people, but it never fails to touch your heart 💓.
I really love these videos too, i find it so interesting!

i don’t even like the peter pan movie but the ride is one of my favorites simply because it’s one of the few rides at disneyland that feels magical. It’s not saturated in it’s own popularity, like some of the other rides. It’s calm, quiet, and cozy, which makes it feel intimate in a way, and yet the effects inside paired with the flight system give the ride so much to look at and adore.
In conclusion, tiny ride with little shiny pretty lights make it a joy to end my disney trip with. It’s very comforting

I'll never understand why Disney won't create a new ride/dark ride based on a new/modern/more efficient version of the Peter Pan ride system. I've only seen Universal successfully replicated the formula with ET and a few other rides. It's such a magical ride system.

I went to Disneyland the first time for Grad Night in 1981. We arrived in the middle of the night and the lines were short for everything - it was awesome! I rode all the best rides several times, including Peter Pan's Flight, and Space Mountain over and over. We would literally get on again as soon as we got off. Needless to say, all future Disneyland visits were not as amazing.

They should do a learn-to-fly themed indoor skydiving attraction. Can you imagine that with Disney imagineers working their magic? Free flying above scenes of the worlds below, guided and coached by either Peter Pan himself or Tinkerbell (costumed cast members). Even as a premium attraction I think that experience would be immensely successful.

I think the last time I went on it was 2012 (I still have the ticket, for some reason) and I always felt really embarrassed because I loved such a childish ride (even though I was 12). It's wonderful to see that it's still so popular and loved by many. I'd hate to see that ride go.

I remember first went to Disneyland in 1981 when I was 7, and I remember the part of Captain Hook’s order to shoot you down and the snapping crocodile after the descent. The next time I went, 10 years later, I was sorely disappointed when that scene didn’t happen. It felt more pedestrian and less that an adventurous journey, like it felt like the first go around.

I've watched this a number of times now and I always enjoy it. I was reminded this time about E-Ticket. Before there was a cottage industry of Disney RUclipsrs (you're the BEST!), there was The E-Ticket Magazine, a print quarterly that covered Disneyland history. I'd love to see a video about that magazine, which, for me, arrived with all the excitement of Naven Johnson over a new phone book. Those guys put their heart and soul into that publication, and I think it deserves some love and attention and maybe even a bit of praise. Thanks for your great work.
