I liked what I like to call Dallas 2.0 also . It was different from the original . But still very good and better then most shows airing on today's tv.

The show was better off dying after Larry’s death anyways. The 3rd season was just downright unwatchable and didn’t feel like Dallas, not only because of JR’s absence but for other reasons as well.

They could it back as a TV film and focus on the Ewings instead of the Rylands. "Dallas" is supposed to be about the Ewing and Barnes feud. Give Pamela a long lost sibling or two.
@@deb310red I was just saying the same thing. It's suppose to be about the Ewing's and the Barnes. I said John Ross and Pamela should be the stars of the show. A lot of focus should be on them. And I said, she should have a brother to go up against John Ross. They just messed Pamela and John Ross up. I don't know what they were thinking. Elena and Emma should have been secondary characters. Pamela should have been the lead.
J.R. slept with Afton during Mitch and Lucy's wedding. Sue Ellen went upstairs and pulled the covers back on the bed and said" So, the real J.R. has finally come home" I believe this was after he removed from getting shot.

What I thought was missing from both this wedding and when Christopher married Pamela (then known as Rebecca) is Lucy remarking about the Southfork wedding curse. She mentioned it a few times on the original show.

I hated Cynthia Cidre for destroying this couple LOL! You have a gold mine power couple, an exciting, dangerous, and good looking powerful couple, and you screw it up. This is the kind of marriage I thought these two would have. The trials and tribulations of marriage! But Cidre never gave these two a chance to be married to each other. I wasn't expecting no roses type of marriage, but she had John Ross cheating from the get go, and I don't get it. How you go from sweeping somebody off their fight to somebody cheating? To me, that is TERRIBLE writing! Just terrible writing!
To show the similarities between John Ross and his dad Jr. Jr cheated on Sue Ellen and now John Ross on Pamela.
John Ross is also half Sue Ellen. There's a part of him that wants love and happiness.
deb310red And JR was half Miss Ellie. Then again he was born to a Jock and Ellie who were not initially in love with each other. Ellie married Jock so that his oil money would save Southfork from foreclosure. That had to have shaped his views on relationships.

That doesn’t make sense. She could have made John Ross more funny or charming but not more philandering. She gave John Ross JRs weakest quality.

I didn't remember that happening, so I re-watched JR and Sue Ellen 2nd wedding. Afton is there with Cliff. Cliff makes an idiot of himself(of course) and pisses her off so she leaves. Cliff, JR, Bobby, Ray and a bunch of wedding guests end up fighting in the pool. For whatever reason, Afton really loved Cliff. The only guy she cheats on him with is that creepy businessman that Cliff needs to make a deal with.

He was as mean and ruthless, but not as clever, you see people on dallas repeatedly getting the better of John Ross on business deals. Yes you could get JR from time to time, but he was going to get you far more often than you got him!

Boy ain't this a Blip! They actually have "People Of Color" on Southfork and not in subservient roles either. As for Sue Ellen she shouldn't be mad at Afton. She was bedazzled by JR the same way Sue Ellen was. Also, for Afton a Poor Girl from the wrong side of the tracks getting all of this attention was quite flattering. Remember when Brooke Logan and her Mother Catered The Forrester Diabetes Fundraiser, she saw Eric who looked like a Movie Star, while Ridge mistook her for Caroline and things would never be the same again. Ironically it was Stephanie who hired the caterers not knowing how much their lives would change.
