Honestly this is just my opinion but i think i'd remove the "hitting blocks stops luigi" and add "getting star coins stops luigi". The amount of blocks per level varies wildly, but there are exactly three star coins.
That would be pretty cool, your only salvation is hidden or placed behind a condition of needing something specific to get it, and you only have a limit of 3.
Best guess, it's a parallel to an ordinary sonic rom hack where you'd have to hit monitors to change things back to normal, though it'd probably be better if the creator changed the question mark blocks to static blocks or something.

Plot twist: It was actually just all a prank. Luigi and lakitu teamed up to scare Mario by luigi wearing a scary mask and lakitu holding him with his fishing line. And whenever Mario "died" he just got scared and lost his aoul but he and lakitu easly keeped getting his soul back by using his 1up mushrooms to keep scaring him but they might get a bit to caryed away making mario lose his aoul forever. How can Luigi and Lakitu go throught walls they ate a boo mushroom while while Luigi wore the costume. There are a lot of gaps with my idea but it just a fynny one

I like the idea for challenge purposes but the execution is too corny for me to take all that seriously even as an enjoyer of cheesy creepypasta material, etc. It's just black eyed Luigi crawling like a toddler towards you unless you tell him to go back to bed, this hack is definitely impressive from a technical standpoint though. The effort is clear as day and I'll always give props for that.

I think this is a clever way about making your game spooky. It doesn't feel very scripted, and retains that sort of feel where if you went back in time and gave it to some poor wayward kid around the time when this game came out, youd see stories of it online like it were a creepypasta or something
This mod/challange is awesome, but fails in some parts Dark eyed luigi is goofy, i think it would be better somehing like the darkness grows bigger and is trying to catch you. Also i would like to see the crepymode fixed like normal brick blocks gives you 3 seconds of normal mode, coins blocks 5, power up blocks 7 etc.
