how do you get it where you can see everything of the car template? I can only see the actual image not everything else.

its part of the mask, just open up the "wireframe/mask" thing, and ONLY make not visible the wireframe layer, keep the mask layer visible, you can see the mask with the template.

I'd rather use the bucket or Ctrl + , or . if you want to color instead of using brush cause its faster
